  1. My wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl this morning. Unfortunately both of them have a bit of an infection so are having to be looked after in the high dependency ward at the Southern, with our daughter being kept in an incubator away from my wife. The care they've had has been fantastic, but it doesn't stop me from feeling utterly wretched at the moment because I've had to come home and leave them both there. I've not slept since Wednesday, but I don't think I'll be getting much sleep tonight. I've honestly never felt as happy as I did today when I got to hold her for the first time. Sorry for going all soppy. I'm sure normal service will be resumed once they're both feeling better.

  3. This probably sounds awful, but there is a disabled girl on my course. She can't talk or go anywhere without a wheelchair and the help of a carer. But she still insists on posting statuses like 'I'm a slut. So what? Stop slut-shaming!' and 'I'm literally jumping off the walls right now'. No. No, you're not.

  4. Thing is, I can think of no set of circumstances, where I would feel comfortable making the statements that have been attributed to your 'Altern 8' persona. You on the other hand, quite clearly believe that there are perfectly permissible circumstances, where the most abhorant and obnoxious views may be freely expressed with clear conscience. Even if it was all just a joke, I'd bet there were plenty forum participants and casual observers, who didn't 'get it'. If I come across any particularly good posts from you, relevant to a topic being discussed, you're as likely to be given a green dot from me as anyone else is, or as you ever were. I didn't join this board to discuss racism, I do however, believe you to be a true Rangers man in every sense, complete with every part of the baggage. The type I have always found to be truly despicable.

  5. Its not hard to change or mask an IP address. The BBC is about as neutral as its going to get, as they are not as likely to be swayed by corporate agendas like you see with SKY and ABC. However, they are biased in terms of promoting government agendas like we're seeing with Syria atm. Off the Ball is the only show I listen to as its coverage is much more balanced, and no so OF centric like we see with Your Call or Clyde. They also shut off, or mock anyone who brings up CF, or corruption issues within the game. Not to mention during the summer last year there was 31 calls from plastic fans about whether your team should be playing in the SPL. 29 of them weren't in favour while 2 were. Yet out of the 3 people they let voice their opinions on air they allowed the 2 that were in favour. Papers on the other hand are more about PR spin. They don't have to tell the truth or give balanced arguments. They get Wullie to buy their shite by telling him what he wants to hear, and printing stuff that will get a (predictable) reaction like "Single Work Shy Mum Says £25k benefits Is Not Enough". When the real issue is "Tax Dodging Tycoon Stashed £5m In Offshore Account".

  8. After having been graduated for over a year and having to continue to work my part time job of 7 years -as I searched for a new job- in which they refused to give me more hours then hired more people in my department and gave them more hours. Gave me more hours for a few weeks then took them off me because one of the managers sons didnt like working nightshift. Meaning I went from 22 hours to 9 hours. Having to do demeaning tasks and never being thanked for it. To never thanking me for covering their mistakes. To being treated like a toddler and being bullied by people who were bitter at the fact I had a chance to leave. Today I got offered a full time job within my degree field. I get to hand my notice in on Monday and start on the 16th. Ill now be making 5 times what I made in that shite job and ill make in a month what it took me 4 to make previously. I honestly couldnt be any fucking happier right now. :) ^^^^ Verge of tears. ( In a good way)

  11. Welcome aboard. I tend to agree that it's about goals, but nobody was better at fashioning them from nothing than Dobbie. I can't agree that Clark's eagerness to recover the ball from the East Fife net was a sign of anything exceptional. Players do that all the time. His goal haul last season however, was exceptional. He's not in Dobbie's class though and will achieve less as a footballer - I'm certain of it.

  13. It's all about goals, Nicky Clark, Tam Bryce MKII, Stephen Dobbie then Andy Thomson followed closely by Rowan Alexander (who probably dropped a few places due to a personal meeting back in 1998 where I rapidly assessed him as a Grade 1 Arse). I didn't witness anybody pre-1975 but from then on I've seen them all so it's a bit unfair on Basher Houliston, Hughie Gallagher et al. Tommy O'Hara was a hero as was Allan Ball - so much like Lee Robinson in many ways - Bobby Parker was quality and kept Kevin Heatherington on the right track and Chris Balderston was a superb bloke who was happy for some daft teenagers from Annan to sit beside him and talk about Queens all the way from Dumfries to Annan as he made his way home to Dalston on the train - sad day when he passed away. Peter Dickson too was a legend, signing from Albion Rovers and saving us almost single handedly from relegation then becoming a right back who if booked once you could almost guarantee he would be seeing a red next. Then there are the ones who should have made it but didn't, Ian Dick immediately springs to mind, he should have been a star, then the others that got there through hard work and not much talent - Graeme Robertson for one. At the end of the day though the game is about scoring goals so the ones who score most will always take the headlines so that is why Nicky Clark should be given a proper respectful Palmerston welcome when or if he takes the field when the Weegies turn up in a couple of weeks. Look back at the photos on the OS from last season and in particular the last home game where Nicky is seen grabbing the ball and racing back up the park after netting at 2-1 down with minutes to go. The lad has the drive and desire to go all the way and I for one will be acknowledging him as the best I have seen.

  15. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_for_the_New_American_Century I believe that the bush administration and associates had a hell of a lot to gain from 9/11 and the resultant wars. I like America and American people but maybe somewhat cynically believe that American foreign policy and imperialism is the number one route cause of pain and suffering to millions if not billions of people. Be it getting blown up, shot, exploited, robbed, enslaved or lied to. They're not the first empire but they're probably the first hidden empire. The sooner scotland gets away from the uk government the better. Isn't it funny that neutral or passive countries don't have problems with terrorism? We have been their bitches since ww2, maybe time to look towards Europe for allies.

It amazes me on Follow Follow that the same posters get upset at Radio clyde, Radio Scotland and certain newspapers...heres a thought. Why dont they stop listening and/or stop reading!

  22. The 1986 World Cup is the first tournament I remember as well. It is absolute essence of why I became a football fan. My mother was working away at the time, which meant several weeks of father and son bonding - a lot of which was based around surviving on microwave meals and takeaways, getting to stay up late and watch the games which had 5-6 hour time difference, and lots and lots of discussion about football. I obsessed over it. I was a sponge for information about it. I could rattle off all sorts of facts about it and other World Cups. I can still remember a fair whack of them too. I named the cat we got around then Maradona. Maradona (the player, not the cat) was probably my biggest boyhood hero. Him and that World Cup are probably more responsible than anything else for getting me hooked on football as a kid. I'd been to watch Queens a couple of times before then, but at the start of the 1986/87 season I was craving another football fix. From then on that was pretty much it.

  24. The 1986 World Cup was the first tournament where I was old enough to really appreciate what was going on, so therefore it has left an indelible image in my mind. Heady days indeed, following on the back of Queens' 85/86 promotion season... Apart from Maradona's one-man shows, what I remember best of all was the number of goals scored from long range. The USSR team seemed to score a fair percentage of them, then there was Josimar's rocket against Norn Ireland - wasn't there a rumour soon afterwards that Wee Jum had tried to sign him for United? Jeez, just thinking about that tournament has brought back so many random mental images: the cool BBC intro music, Ray Wilkins getting sent off for a hissy fit, Michel's over-the-line goal for the Spanish v. Brazil and the Danes failing spectacularly after going through the group stages looking like potential outright winners. I could go on and on on this one.... FTR, I now think Messi has surpassed Maradona, and Dobbs narrowly edges JR as the best Queens player I've ever seen.

  25. You're being unfair. Sometimes his phone alters his spelling without his ability to control it. He recently got a new laptop out of a bin, so f**k knows what kinda of grammar and spelling alterations that thing might make without his knowledge, and unlike other people he has the debilitating problem of "getting tired late at night". This serious and unique condition may lead to spelling and grammar mistakes which he should be automatically forgiven for - Note that none of the above are valid excuses for any other poster. Just him. The Batshit Crazy SDL supporting spokesperson of the entire P&B community.

  43. actually it was the conclusion of the house (of representatives) committee on assassinations in 1978 that jfk was probably killed as the result of a conspiracy. thats what the official investigation into it said. jfk is the most obvious conspiracy of them all, that is completely true. he was killed by the cia in a coup d'etat. I'll give you a couple of others that are definitely true rfk was killed by a guy called thane eugene cesar on behalf of the cia. sirhan sirhan was a victim of mind control to be the patsy. yitzak rabin (israeli pm murdered in 95) was killed by his own government for giving too much away to the palestinians 9/11 was carried out by a faction within the american government. not all conspiracy theories are true, but not all are false either.
