  1. As The Rangers are all about the dignity. Let's get a game of spot the dignified statement. A. There will be times when you want us to tackle or enemies and it will seem like we're somehow reluctant to do so or that we don't care. Sometimes you have to wait. We have chosen and we will continue to choose the right moment to strike. Please.please never believe that I or any other director don't know the names of these people who have tried to damage this club. We know all of them. We know what each one tried to do and I can assure you we will never, ever forget about that. - Some fly'by'night pocket filling rabble rousing CEO. B. “We thank each and every creditor who voted for this outcome. “We know that many have suffered greatly from the financial problems of the football club. We now pay tribute to them. This vote will allow Dunfermline Athletic to begin a rebuilding process under a wide spread of supporter ownership.” Pars United’s Bob Garmory Answers on a big red show liquidation the red card postcard to the usual address

  2. I doubt that he will be, unless he plays out of his skin. County still have 4/5 of the back five that was resonsible for 14+ clean sheets in the league last season. I don't know for definite, but I very much doubt that anyone will be on a Burton O'Brien-sized pay packet.

  3. This is how you save a football club. @DunfermlineAFC: CVA carried. Vote was overwhelmingly for and Bryan Jackson thanked creditors for their support

  4. Obviously we'll all be wearing our personalised t-shirts on the plane, but I feel it would be a good idea to tell each other what other threads we'll be wearing so as to not be clashing. I'll be wearing my pale blue shorts and a pair of espadrilles as well as an oversized novelty sombrero (for the bants)

  5. Major difference between the Pars, Hearts, Dundee compared to Sevco is how their fans went about solving the pressing issues at hand. If Rangers fans (and the Rangers 'family') had rallied around trying to save (and buy the club) they would most likely would have succeeded due to the shear numbers they have in support. Obviously the "big tax case" played a part in this. Instead they decided it would be more productive to lash out at other sets of fans, pursue deadend legal action, go to war with the SFA and try to burn down Starks Park. They distracted themselves, allowing a whole new crop of dodgy business types to come in. They handled themselves with no dignity, no class just threats, bullying and boycotts which still continue. I think we have been VERY lucky to get this outcome today and am delighted about it.

  7. We saved our club with donations and fund raising events long before that game took place. We saved our club while Rangers fans sat about arguing and cheering on morons like John Brown. Saving your club > Liquidation.

  8. I think not, Sevco are perhaps the most important part of your history. Like it or not Sevco saved Rangers, you should be embracing Sevco, not decrying them. Rangers are Sevco, now.

  9. Well done one and all. No personal love for Dunfermline but we don't need proper football clubs going under. Congats.

  15. No it's not, don't be so bitter. Today was good news for Rovers as well. We have a history of being unable to "balance the books" and a Scottish League without a Dunfermline in it wouldn't help that. There are not many supporters of clubs in the top two leagues that can claim the "we live within our means" dignity line. A large number have been rescued in one way or another, including us! Scottish Football, as a whole, needs to find solutions to the financial problems a large proportion of it faces. The redistribution of wealth and single league structure is a massive step forward but there is a lot more to do to improve the quality, and therefore investment in the game.

  16. Stephen Kasiewicz ‏ 6m Just for clarity, Brian McLean has signed a one-year deal and Graham Carey has signed for two years with Ross County. Good bit of business getting Carey on a 2 year deal.

  17. Good stuff Pars, proud to say myself and other Accies fans stuck a few quid in your collection buckets and at least had a very tiny bit in helping save your great club, All the best to the fans for the future, hope it all works out for you

  18. Congrats to the fans. Obviously a lot of people/businesses will be out of pocket but hopefully once the club starts running properly again those relationships can be built back up again. Look forward to having you guys on the 10th.

  19. Oh feel the jealousy. Dunfermline, a club from a wee town in fife, up to its ears in crisis, manages to save itself. Whereas you and every other deadco supporter failed to save the oh-so-super-biggest-club-in-the-world-half-a-billion-fans rangers(deceased). Maybe threatening everyone, lying and cheating wasn't the best way forward. GIRFUY Well done the pars, delighted for you and for Scottish football, a great news story.

  20. Blocked out the liquidation have we? The brainwashing seems to have worked particularity well here. The OP is right, maybe if more Rangers fans had done something other than going on a march to Hampden, protesting at the BBC, holding up a red card, threatening to burn grounds, intimidating public officials, cheering on clowns like Bomber and Sandy Jardine, then you might have been saved too.

  21. Your club was not saved, it was rebuilt from scraps so that the long history of shysters profiteering from the fools who follow could continue unabated. Like the poor worn out old hag passed around the town drunks squeezing the last drops of pleasure from her gooey stinking hole.

  22. Here's another corker for the scrapbook. http://willievass.photoshelter.com/gallery-image/280713-Albion-Rovers-v-Rangers/G0000A_j60y0KuhE/I0000wWM89Dy3qTw/C0000RuSYb5vZE60 Who do they think has benefited from these corrupt practices? Let me think ummm. Certainly not the rest of Scottish football. After all that’s gone on,you really have to wonder which planet these people inhabit. I realise it’s easy to have a good point and laugh at them but there is a very serious side to this because they are proof that the PR inspired ‘victim mentality’ campaign employed by Rangers to brainwash its supporters has actually been a rip-roaring success.

  33. I must protest! They have signed decent players, but their squad is so heavily imbalanced. They'll draw too many games because their centre of midfield is too slow and uninventive, while the centre-back pairing is a nightmare waiting to recur. Fenlon's tactics were out-moded in the 70s and all of the middle order teams will beat them, more often than not. I confess I don't know anything about their new striker, but unless he can carry the team like Leigh Griffiths did then I do think they'll struggle.

  39. Aye, but we all know, as Fat Sally helpfully reminded us, that they are not really trialists in any real sense of the term or how they have ever been used before. TRIFC spotted a loophole and decided to employ it in order to circumvent a punishment(the only meaningful punishment they have received) that they had previously agreed to for bringing the game into disrepute. And their lowest common denominator cheerleader-in-chief is rejoicing in this publicly. Nothing we haven't come to expect.

  40. I find it offensive, embarrassing, disgusting and shameful, that in 21st century Scotland we have people who not only somehow think these songs are relevant to our society but connect them and their sentiment to supporting a particular football club or two. Time to move on or curtail the breeding.

  44. As much as I have tried I just cannot get into 20/20. For a traditionalist for me nothing beats five hard days of test match cricket, followed by some distance by a decent ODI. For me 20/20 is the Tennents sixes of cricket. It's enjoyable but it's not the real thing.
