  1. Ignoring for now the disparity in treatment from the governing bodies towards your club and mine and ignoring the fact that at every possible opportunity you lot rally against the footballing authorities and denounce them as cheats and liars here is how I see it. Airdrieonians folded. We are not Clydebank despite buying their club (and importantly league membership) as Clydebank are alive and well in the juniors. We play at the same stadium as Airdrieonians. We play in the same diamond jersey as Airdrieonians. We have (an increasingly small) number of the same supporters as at Airdrieonians. When people can be arsed we have the same songs as Airdrieonians. We do not have Clydebanks history. We do not have Airdrieonians history. Even if we manage to change the club name to Airdrieonians as some people desire, we will never be the same Airdrieonians. We are a new club. You are a new club so fucking suck it up and get on with it.

  2. If we are going into past tense with other clubs its only fair to mention the level of loyalty your team's supporters showed before the summer of 2012. You also forget the level of loyalty shown by other supporters for clubs like Dundee, Ross County, Livingston, Stranraer and more all who rallied round got organised to help their club when things were looking bleak, where were the thousands of Rangers fans that could have saved Rangers during Craig Whyte's reign, where were the loyal then?. Just because a certain club has 10 or more times the support of all other Scottish Clubs bar Celtic it doesn't mean their support is in any way more loyal than supporters of say Montrose or East Stirlingshire. I think there is also more chance there is thousands of so called Rangers fans who never go to games either regularly or at all, maybe some have never actually seen Ibrox with their own eyes but would rather sit at home on the sofa watching the big game with their finger in their arse. I will say with certainty that there will be a higher percentage of fans of the smaller provincial clubs that actually go to their teams games than not go at all compared to both Rangers and Celtic.

  7. Hope to f**k this doesn't lead to some sort of BJK bollocks. Honestly? I'd not have posted that and we really don't need it.

  8. Yup and that is all that is sinister about WATP despite claims of sectarian, goat-shagging KKK supremacy and Loyalist exclusivity. Folk who support Rangers ARE The People. Folk who don't aren't. Hate to use yet another cliche but there is actually nothing to see here.

  13. Believe me, WATP is just the start. New season ticket buyers will be given a free pointy white hat and those renewing their brief will get a highly flammable wooden cross and a box of swan vestas.

  22. My friend stayed in halls in 1st year with a girl from Orkney and one night they were having a few drinks when she got a call from her dad who was originally from Bo'ness. My pal managed to convince her to put him on the phone and proceded to sing, "Bo'ness fair's a fucking gala day". Her dad was absolutely seething and threatened to get the first ferry to mainland and come and sort him out

  24. Couldn't happen to a nicer fellow; FOOTBALL legend Gordon Smith has revealed that losing his job at Rangers was the "final straw" that forced him into bankruptcy. The former SFA chief executive, who stacked up £644,411 of debts, has spoken openly about the strain of his financial problems and admitted he had already lost his house to pay off creditors. His £500,000 family home in Newton Mearns will soon be sold and he said he was asked to leave his job as director of football at Rangers without any pay off. Mr Smith, 58, said: "I have been living with this problem for more than a year. I tried my best to avoid bankruptcy. This was the last thing I wanted. Everything was going well for a spell and I didn't see it coming. That's why I suffered. "I was continuing to manage to cover my debt but losing my job and income at Rangers was the final straw. "Rangers asked me to go. I never received a penny. I didn't ask for money. I felt it was the right thing to do. "All this has shown me that the love and support of your family is more important in life than money." The father of three said the worst thing had been knowing his children wouldn't benefit from the assets he hoped to pass on to them. Smith also said he had learned who his true friends were. He said: "Now that my friends have been made aware through the media the responses and support I've received have been incredible. I haven't moved on but you never know what's going to come along. I'm hopeful I'll turn things around."

  26. I don't see what use a strong man competition would be to footballers? Murray must have a gruelling pre-season regime for them in that case.

  36. I notice wallie smith is new chairman of the ibrox club. He was of course a former manager of rangers and Scotland but the highlight of his career was undoubtedly being a member of the sons team in the mid 70's. Everything else after that was an anti climax. He was of course in the team that played Hearts in the semi final of the Scottish cup during which he missed a sitter. If he had scored Dumbarton would.have been in Europe. It might.have been 37 years ago but we dont forget. Hopefully an apology is in the post Walter.

  40. When I read his interview I was also pretty miffed with his description of the club and his choice of words could certainly have been better. If he has been left hanging though and not even spoken to by the club to put him in the picture about what the situation is then that is very, very poor and makes it a little more understandable due to frustration and uncertainty. I think the least Murray could have done was told him whether he had (A) no chance of a deal, in which case look elsewhere, (B) a possibility of a deal depending on how budgets play out, but no guarantees given or © here is your offer - take it or leave it. To do none of these is treating a long serving player pretty poorly. While he hasn't been all that great in the last couple of years I still think he deserves some form of communication and kept in the picture.
