  2. http://www.gizoogle.net/ Translates any page of your choosing into gangster talk, I'm having way too much fun reading P&B with it. Since it only does one page at a time, the easiest way to translate a page quckly is to put http://www.gizoogle.net/tranzizzle.php?search= in front of the URL. My favourite post so far is NewBornBairn's in the BMW Drivers thread.

  11. The only ones I remember as being a bit irritating or irritated were the one that served me a shite-smelling beer that needed replaced and didn't know what a black and tan was and the one that wasn't happy at having to turn the toilet lights on for us. I had to film myself going to the toilet so that I could use the light on my phone. I deleted the video though. I'm not that odd.

  12. If someone said to me that I could walk into a clothes shop, take what I wanted and walk out without the security guards caring, I would. I apply the same set of morals to downloading music online, which is why I have an external hard drive full of music, none of which I've paid for. Get it fucking up ye.

  18. Was over in Arran for a coule of nights at the weekend and had a few beers during my stay. Thought I would get into the mood on the ferry over by trying something from the 'Isle of Arran' Brewery but the normal Arran ferry has been replaced this month by MV Hebrides which usually sails from Oban and Cal-Mac have obviously decided it is too much hassle to change the stock on board so I had to make do with a bottle of 'Skelpt Lug' from the Oban Bay Brewery. A 'dark ale' coming in at 4.2% abv it was ok but not really what I was looking for at the time. (5.5 out of 10) Onto our hotel for the weekend (the Kildonan) and after unpacking it was down to the bar where a good range of 'Arran' beers were on sale. I started off with 'Fireside' a dark amber beer (4.7% abv) with a ginger kick. Great choice for my first beer on the island. (8.5) Next up was a bottle of 'Clyde Puffer', an oatmeal stout with hints of chocolate. Another lovely beer at 4.5% abv. (7.5) Staying with the Arran Brewery next one was 'Sunset'. A light summer beer at 4.4% abv. Even though it was the middle of winter on a remote-ish Scottish island this one still went down well but would probably be better suited to a nice summer evening. (7.5) Wanting to give all the 'Arran' beers a go next up was the award winning 'Red Squirrel', Described as a 'red ale' on the bottle and coming in at 3.9% abv this one unfortunately didn't get the thumbs-up. Quite watery with a a slightly off taste and what felt like sediment floating around I couldn't even finish this one. I will however put it down to a bad bottle and try it again sometime. (3) Last of the 'Arran' beer I tried was the 'Blonde' which took us back onto winning ways. Very easy to drink, probably the most suited to a session drink and at 5% abv slightly stronger than the others. ( I tried a few of the above a couple of times and the only other beers I had in the bar were a pint of 'Belhaven Best' which went down surprisingly well (6.5%) and when in Rome (or Arran in this case) do as the 'locals' ... a pint of Tennents which despite all the negativity surrounding commercial lager, really hit the spot after a long day and a lovely dinner at the hotel (7). I also took a few bottles of beer with me which were OXFORD GOLD from Brakspear Brewing Co (6.5), LIA FAIL from The Inveralmond Brewery (6.5) and OLD TOM from Robinson's (7). On the way home it was another bottle from Oban Bay this time Scallywager. The newest beer to come from the brewery is a 4%abv lager which rounded off the weekend pretty well (7) - I would liked to have added a bit more in the way of a review for all the above but the amount of beer consumed along with a lot of red wine has slightly hazed my memory

  21. #42 Beer: Samuel Smith's - Taddy Porter Abv: 5.0% Style: Porter Aromas: Quite sweet, dark malts, some fruit, little bit of chocolate & caramel, hint of old fashioned cola, almost something like dark berries. faint smokiness Taste: Dark biscuity malts, some liquorice, little bit of coffee, peculiar yet pleasant hint of what may be cherry/marzipan?, little bit of dark chocolate Overall: Decent porter this. Very smooth stuff. Still has those dark roasted malts but not as bitter as some other examples of this type of beer. 7.5/10

  24. The Bridge. It's about the people who kill themselves by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge every year. They actually filmed 23 people killing themselves but it's far from gore. They interviewed friends and family of the jumpers and it's really well done. It's really harrowing to watch, but a great insight into depression. You can watch it here

  26. If you remember, Charlie said he'd paid all football debts months ago - with £500k he'd specially provided for the purpose. This would be why most of us wouldn't trust anyone involved with Charlie's new club to tell us what day of the week it is. Because he tells lies, Tedi. He says whatever gets you and the rest of the Horde onside, and all the lovely Bigot Dollars flowing into his retirement fund.

  27. Sometimes I'm a bit unsure about mocking people, who none of us know anything about, mercilessly for their appearance on this thread, but someone needs to link the guy on the left to it to let him know that I, a complete stranger on the internet hiding behind a username, thinks he looks like the very dictionary definition of 'utter c**t'. I mean, the tan, the eyebrow lines, the earrings, the snood, the superman belt, the rolled up jeans and the baffies - utter c**t from head to toe. Guy on the right's trainers look fucking ridiculous too. If you want to buy footwear like that, you should be sterilized first.

  29. Perhaps it's time to do a quick check on the normal contributors to the thread who haven't been on for a while: the P&B equivalent of checking to see if milk bottles are piling up at their door. The only side to be in a better position than ourselves is Ross County: Dundee are hopelessly sinking back down, hopefully in place of ourselves. Raith, Falkirk etc are as ever completely irrelevant to the business end of the division. But let's spare a thought for Ayr: just last year they were telling us about how great their side was, now they sit 8th in the Second Division having been pumped again today. Third Division beckons IMO. Shame really.

  32. A great many of them probably were to be honest. Neil Lennon was caretaker for a long period before being officially confirmed too. I was conscious McDonald had been. It's a recent decision to start noting them as caretakers with a subsequent official date. They'll all fall into line eventually but I'll amend McDonald now anyway. Cheers.

  37. SENNA. Im not a fan of motorsport at all, in fact i find it tedious. This however was an enthralling watch. In fact the last half hour with all the footage from that San Marino grand prix is as heartbreaking as it is gripping. A quite sensational docu-film

  42. America really know how to make real life sport feel like a movie, I love the America's Game series by NFL Films, give one a try even if you aren't a big fan of the sport, so well made and emotional. The 30 for 30 films are great as well, Kings Ransom about Wayne Gretsky is brilliant as is Winning Time about Regie Miller, I have hardly any interest in hockey or basketball but both stories are gripping. The ones about the Springboks winning the world cup, Allen Iverson's trial and Pablo Escobar are all excellent as well. I'm currently getting my hands on many of the suggestions so far, keep them coming.

  43. Man On Wire is a shout, really well made and personal account which really shouldn't be as gripping as it is. About to watch thie Dear Zachary one. I know it's film about a true story rather than a documentary but I finally got round to watching Argo tonight, that was feckin brilliant. ETA - Dear Zachary is a must watch for anyone who hasn't seen it, as someone above emphasised do not read anything about it before watching.

  45. I prefer documentary films to normal ones but they are less high profile and so you don't hear as much about them. List your favourites and what they are about. My personal interests are sports documentaries, political documentaries and ones about messed up countries like Iran, Burma, etc but a good documentary can make any topc fascinating. Inside Job - excellent doc narrated by Matt Damon, about the banking crisis of 2008, how it built up and how it was a scam by the banks. The Inconvenient Truth - Al Gore's famous environmental one which reall hammers home the severity. Super SIze Me - really interesting doc about the impact of fast food and how bad it is for people, economy, environment, etc. He also eats nothing but McDs for a month but investigates side issues as it goes along. Undefeated - real life Friday Night Lights, about a coach in high school (american) football in a bad part of town, really emotional. Crips and Bloods Made in America - really well made documentary about the rise of black gangs in LA. Shout out to Louis THeroux's Weird Weekends, I really like his style.
