  1. Just fired this off to PTFC, for all the good it'll do...and yes it does make me sound like a bit of a twat but I'm not very good at the whole "disgruntled of Tunbridge Wells" thing Dear PTFC I write regarding Mr Beattie's comments regarding the Rangers situation which have been published in the Daily Record and the Evening Times. As a lifelong supporter of Partick Thistle I find the thought that PTFC could be complicit in a Rangers "newco" being parachuted into next year's SFL1 deeply alarming. The chairman is quite right when he says that this is a massive opportunity for Scottish football to change, but if, as the newspapers suggest, he is is claiming that demoting Rangers by a single division would be a just punishment for decades of cheating and financial mismanagement then he is deeply mistaken. Rangers FC have, it appears, been systematically cheating the rest of Scottish football for as long as many of us can remember. Indeed, it has since emerged that every single member of the Rangers team that defeated Thistle 3-0 in the 2002 Scottish Cup Semi Final were members of the now infamous EBT scheme. The thought that Thistle fans were cheated of what could well be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see their club in a Scottish cup final is not one that I will easily forget. Nor should it be forgotten that Rangers have now defaulted on an estimated £100m worth of debts---debts to other football clubs, to the taxman, and to hundreds of small Scottish businesses. Rangers have systematically cheated every single Scottish club, and every single Scottish supporter, over at least a decade. To suggest that demoting them by one division would be a "just" punishment is laughable. Getting demoted to the SFL1 is what should happen when you finish bottom of the SPL, not what should happen when you have been caught defrauding everyone with any interest in the Scottish game. Sporting integrity must be at the heart of Scottish football. Without it, instead of a professional sports setup we would be left with a corrupt farce more akin to professional wrestling, with the sole difference being that the administrators of WWE wrestling at least have the decency not to pretend that the game isn't rigged in favour of a select few. If Partick Thistle are willing to sell the integrity of the Scottish game in return for a handful of Rangers' tarnished silver then that would be unforgivable. Were that scenario to come to pass, I for one would have to consider long and hard as to whether or not I could return to Firhill and, having spoken to my fellow supporters, I know that many of them feel the same way. A newco Rangers might be a short-term gravy train for Partick Thistle but what price to the club in the long term if lifelong supporters walk away? It may be, of course, that Mr Beattie has been misquoted by the Record and the Evening Times and has no intention of allowing a newco Rangers to escape a *truly* just punishment. I hope that this is the case. Yours,

  2. You aren't 'going down' anywhere. Your membership expires if the Newco vote fails, and are then able to apply to the SFL at its lowest level: and this ought to be rejected. You don't have the sporting or financial integrity to take the place away from clubs waiting for the opportunity. People need to stop pandering to this 'oh lets put them down to the Third' get-out clause. Rangers fans want this because they see it as three easy titles, days out across the country and storming back into the SPL with their customary arrogance, ra peepul in tow. Throw in the 'chaos' spoken about regarding the finances of the SPL clubs who they'd love to 'boycott' anyway, and it's a perfect scenario for them. Kick them out altogether. It is the only way to ensure the sporting integrity of Scottish football.

  4. Statement by Sevco on the future of The Rangers Football Club, Friday 22nd June, 2012. In light of yesterday’s comments by Mr Vladimir Romanov, the owner of Heart of Midlothian Football Club, and the obviously growing groundswell of opinion in general towards the refusal of the transfer of the vacant SPL share to The Rangers Football Club, the Board and Investors of Sevco5088 have decided to withdraw our application for ownership of that share. With effect from 5:00 pm today, all playing staff of Rangers Football Club (In Liquidation) with the agreement of the Liquidators, BDO, shall be considered to be released from their playing contracts. Since our purchase of the assets of Glasgow Rangers plc (In Liquidation) it has been obvious that, due to the bigotry, intimidation, arrogance, condescending attitude, outrageously bad behaviour and , on occasion, violence, of the fans, the financial and contractual irregularities, threatening behaviour and lack of sporting integrity of the former management and staff, and the triumphalism of all associated with the club over many years, the vast majority of diddy team supporters would prefer that Rangers, in whatever form, play no further part in Scottish football (despite the best efforts of Jim Traynor, Keith Jackson, Chic Young, Hugh Keevins and the majority of the mainstream Scottish media) and Sevco have come to the conclusion that their wishes should be acceded to. To this end, Sevco have decided not to forward any other application for entry to Scottish football at any level for Season 2012/13 We shall now take time to consider our position on how best to realise a return on the investments we have made so far. Finally, may I say a heartfelt sorry to all Scottish football fans, for bringing the game of football in this country into disrepute, for risking the wrath of UEFA and FIFA ,for the embarrassment this has caused, and potentially making Scottish football more of a laughing stock than it already is, as no other bugger has had the common decency to say so. You can collect a copy of this statement and a prospectus for our proposed retail, leisure and residential developments from the tables at the rear of the room. Charles Green, Chief Execution Officer, Sevco 5088 Developments.

  5. Will I shed any tears if the other mob die - I don't think so. I have never been to an "Old Firm" match (or watched one live on TV) in my 45 years following Celtic because I don't buy into their ideas of football. If only we could send the knuckledraggers from my club to oblivion as well, that would be the icing on the cake, and don't forget the ones hiding in the suits Tut Tutting (while secretly approving) at the "awful behaviour of those people". But, I'm afraid that will take time. Maybe they'll get the message that their bile is no longer welcome anywhere except with their moronic mirror images on the other side of the city. Hopefully my life isn't over, because this could be the opportunity to get our Football League back, and to a level where we can compete in Europe again, instead of us (including Celtic) being classed as the minnows and walkovers when the draws are made. I am fortunate enough to remeber when ALL Senior Scottish League Teams got respect and were feared (except Thistle and we paid for that!). Sorry, I won't F*ck off !! I like it here!

  6. This. Instead of Celtic leading the way with the diddies behind, it reinforces the impression that Celtic need The Rangers to validate themselves.

  7. Your lucky. Our lot haven't got the BXLLS to stand up and be counted. Suppose to be one of the biggest clubs in Scotland and they're standing at the back egging everybody else on but doing bugger all themselves. SPINELESS. They should apologise to the rest of the SPL for their sleekit behaviour. Well done to all those who've shown their true colours.

  9. This is the Thistle statement. The first paragraph can be safely eliminated as it contains nothing of substance. So focusing on the relevant bits: We want sporting integrity, but we see £ signs. f**k sporting integrity. Now that we've established that we don't care about sporting integrity, this is our negotiating position. This is what we can be bought for. f**k the fans, f**k sporting integrity. Toss us the bones we've asked for, and we'll roll over. Thats how I read that statement.

  11. (Mr Burns voice) ...Excellent. It's probably been said before, but it bears repeating that the Buns are architects of their own destruction here on many, many levels. Forget the cheating; put aside the fraud and never mind the corruption. If even one RFC spokesman had issued a sincere statement at any point accepting full responsibility for Rangers' downfall; vowed to right as many wrongs as they could and asked for a little help in their hour of need, can anyone imagine the other SPL sides would be voting against them this gladly right now? Even as recently as a month ago, would you have predicted this outcome? Instead, it's been a three-month lecture on how almost none of it is Rangers' fault; how Rangers are the Real Victims; how the SFA/SPL are jealous of RFC and fans of other clubs greedy and spiteful. Make no mistake, what Aberdeen, Hearts, Dundee UTd and hopefully the rest of the SPL are doing today isn't murder. It's euthanising a botched suicide, putting a suffering animal out of its misery. And so, here we are. Well done, Rangers officials and supporters groups. You've succeeded in doing what none of the rest of us could - booting your club out of the SPL.

  13. All of this media led nonsense is smoke and mirrors. There will be no SPL2, certainly not in the next 4 weeks! Absolute nonsense. This is all a distraction. Any club that votes for this newco abortion deserves to die with them. I include SMFC in this. It won't happen. Let us look at where we are as of today. It is now the 22nd of June. Rangers FC are still waiting to be liquidated. Green has bought Ibrox and Murray park for 5.5 million and despite the fact there is no club, has applied to join the SPL. There are 20 years of cheating still to be dealt with by the SFA, as well as the punishments for last years blatant contempt for other clubs (Austria Vienna, Hearts etc), failure to pay PAYE etc.. Decision pending on punishment. Media campaign to save their own jobs by proposing SPL2, play offs blah blah blah. The season is only a few weeks away. None of this is possible in that timescale, even if there was any support for it! Newco will NOT be in SPL next season. There will be no SPL2. If, and its a big IF, Newco apply for SFL, and are accepted, it is Division 3 for them. Time to calm down amigos, we are witnesses to the last desperate twitching of the corpse. A little patience required!

  14. Yes, all the bright ones associated with rangers have been dealing with the media.... "We will remember those who sought to harm us" - Wullie Pullar "We demand transparency" - Sally McMoist "I had to do something when Jim Traynor cried on the phone - then I remembered I had a holiday booked next week. See ya!" - Cardie Man. "We're sorry" - Absolutely nobody connected with that fucking vile mess of corruption, bigotry, hatred and lies. p.s. It must be time for you, T_S_A_R and the rest of the closets to change your team while "rangers" is still an option.

  18. firstly, Well Done the Arabs! Second - MJ, wake up! The currants are gone, and your trying to plead a business case is looking weaker and weaker by the day. All you can achieve now is to make Kilmarnock a pariah among Scots fans, when we should be looking forward together to a brighter future. Just look at the way your actions and statements (yes, yours, not the club or the fans) are being perceived. The country is looking at us as apologists for the criminal behaviour of rangers - a craven hanger-on desperate for the crumbs from their table. We are better than that, and if you are not it may be time for us to part company. I don't know who'd take the club on, but I don't want a man with your apparent values speaking for my team. There is, however, time to change. Acknowledge the letters and emails Killie fans have been sending you. Stop insulting our intelligence - we have thought through the consequences of actions, and are united in our opinion over this newco-SPL farce. Ring the BBC and the Retard tomorrow. Stand in front of a camera and give a statement: "Kilmarnock will vote No to a newco entering the SPL". Walk away. No reasons need to be given - no snappy soundbites. Just that one bald sentence will guarantee you the media coverage you crave. Do the right thing! p.s. A version of this is already sitting in the inbox at TTOP. I've not received any acknowledgment of previous communications, though, so I'm not holding my breath.....

  19. Copy of email I sent to Falkirk Chairman Martin Ritchie Dear Mr Ritchie I am writing this as a Falkirk supporter who has hardly missed a home game for 33 years either as a walk up or a season ticket holder. I read with interest your statement on the club website regarding the clubs position on the possible admission of the Rangers newco into the first division. Whilst I am broadly in agreement with your sentiment I am concerned at the use of the phrase "on the current rules" in your statement. This may suggest that the clubs position may change if there were to be changes to, for example, the number of promotion places available to SFL 1 clubs. You will no doubt be aware of the strength of feeling that exists against the admission of any newco at any level above SFL 3 from both Falkirk supporters and fans of every other club in Scotland. Should any compromise agreement be being thrashed out to allow entry of this club to the first division in exchange for some form of reconstruction will result in many supporters turning their backs on the game for good causing far greater financial hardship than any perceived benefit from allowing this new club into our league. I was about to buy season tickets for my son and I but given the uncertainty that you have placed in my mind by the current rules phrase in the club's statement I am now of mind not to make this purchase. I believe that many of my fellow supporters feel the same. I would therefore request that you make it clear that you clarify exactly what you meant by the statement "on the current rules" and state that as far as Falkirk are concerned the only way to enter the SFL is to apply for any vacancy in SFL 3. Anything else will result in many Falkirk supporters turning their backs on the club and being lost to the game for good.

  20. This (mostly) Given all that and the HMRC tax deposits, the lack of bank facility and the (alleged) fact that the deal has not been completed with H&D yet (not enough dosh) - means only one thing for me. They will not be playing anywhere this coming season. I honestly can't see it any other way now.

  23. Don't suppose the SPL meeting on Thursday will be about making the league 11 teams instead of 12. 40 games, so more money. Home and away twice against each team, with no split. Also leaves no vacant spot in the SFL. If D&P had done administration properly, we wouldn't now be on a rushed schedule. Why not dump new rangers for a season and mull over the options for the SPL and Scottish football.

  24. They cannot go into the third division because they are dead. Which part of this are you struggling with? Sorry, the rules specifically exclude them. The oldco have a stadium, the newco do not. The oldco has a (shameful) documented history, the newco (obviously) does not. The oldco has (for the moment) SFA membership, the newco does not. Best case scenario for Green's Athletic is that the oldco is left to rot and the newco is allowed to apply for SFA membership, and then apply for a place in Div 3, in competition with honest clubs who have worked within their means to get to that stage.

  27. ? EH ...... the old firm fixture is dead and looks like Rangers to follow soon after BUT ! I think you'll find that Celtic are very well much alive and fighting and just because one club is dead does not mean Celtic will follow soon after. After all Celtic didn't cheat to win and if Celtic had less success I'm sure you wouldn't be as pissed off about it. Yeh sure the old firm game was well looked forwarded too but that's all about to change,it would appear that Celtic now need to find a new rival ! and I may add by the tone of fans in here then bring it on all of you ! every team in unison to be our rival by the sounds of it !. In saying that the other clubs chasing the title will now possibly have a potential 12 point advantage over their last points total from last year coz the gers can't cheat and fcuk you over 4 times a season.Celtic will cut back for sure if they are pish in Europe every other season and don't have the European money to subsidize the loss of the old firm fixture and reduced TV revenue. So what you all complaining about ? the stranglehold has been broken, and if anyone has been reading my posts ! that's what I've been advocating FAIRNESS. Imagine the possible scenario at the end of March 2013. Traynor on the radio ... "looking back at events last year at Ibrox with the gers going into meltdown who would have thought this season would be one of the best title run ins ever.4 teams in the hunt to claim the SPL title with only a single points margin between them with everyone thinking that Celtic would just run away with it,but they aren't and the other teams have stepped up to the challenge after the demise of the Ibrox outfit. And here we are the attendances have shot up and a new excitement has gripped the SPL fans and their teams and no longer is there the boring monotony of the usual 2 horse race that has plagued the SPL for decades. In fact I am now looking forward to next season, and from sources it is believed that SPL season ticket requests have almost doubled around the country in the era of we could now have a new SPL champion other than one of the old firm. It is believed there is new hope for Scottish football after last years events, that there was the prospect of the SPL collapsing under the loss of Rangers. But this was all it took to save the SPL and make it a more exciting sport, the loss of one of the big 2 that was considered to be the mainstay and kingpin in keeping the SPL afloat. This truly is the new dawn for the sport of football in Scotland and all fans now look forward to who could win the SPL and not which one of the old firm will. ^^^^^ For all the diddy fans out there, let's hope this happens as I will probably celebrate a new SPL champion as well and I'm sure the whole of Scotland will.

  28. http://www.heraldscotland.com/mobile/sport/football/sfls-longmuir-doubtful-about-merger-timescale.17896545 The prospect of the Rangers newco being allowed to begin life in the second tier does not sit well with some first division clubs, most notably Livingston who were demoted to the third division from the first three years ago for breaching league rules on insolvency. "We're monitoring the situation closely as rules are rules," said Ged Nixon, the chief executive of the West Lothian club. "The SFA were complicit in upholding the SFL's decision against Livingston and I would expect them to treat Rangers in exactly the same way. "Everything I've read on the matter seems to centre around what Sky TV want and that in itself isn't healthy. This is a great opportunity to shake up our game from top to bottom so it should have nothing to do with them whatsoever. "Why should Rangers get straight into the first division? Just to appease the sponsor of another division? That just doesn't stack up for me. I'm fully in agreement that changes are needed but we need to go about it the right way and for the right reasons." Hopefully that counts as the one you're looking for!

  31. If this time last year I had said after total implosion the SPL will be a Blue Cheek free zone, And they will be lucky to be in the SFL3, Young / Traynor / Dodds and other media types would have been disgraced as incompetent bampots, A creditors report would show they owed the HMRC £94,000,000.00 alone, destroying any weaselling CVA plan before it started. They would bully their way from our disgust to total contempt and hatred with their attitude and spokesmen. We would be sitting with the genuine prospect that a liquidator investigation could result in court proceedings against many involved. And they may not have enough money to pay the wages at the end of the month never mind start of the season and the sponsors of the Ramsden Cup are talking about having to re-draw their tournament to let them in. You would have called me insane and a dreamer – but you would have taken this result in a second. Enjoy where we are at people.

  36. I'm genuinely struggling with it. As I said many pages ago, I was a kid when I started supporting the club - oblivious to all the bigoted crap associated with the club. I've been disgusted by the behaviour of a certain section of the support for years, but it seems horrifically exacerbated over the past few months. Now that the club's actions over the past 10 years have been revealed, and have sunk in, I'm wondering if there's really anything left to support? Bit depressing really, although I understand why everyone here's enjoying it so much.
