  1. Never understood why so many people seem to enjoy criticising Murray so much. The guy is a fantastic tennis player who is unfortunate to be playing at the same time as 2 players who will probably go down as the best 2 players ever. He's now consistantly reaching semi-finals/finals of grand-slams and will probably win a major at some point. And even if he doesn't, he's already had a career that 99% of tennis players would be proud of. However, some people clearly don't rate him and don't see him as worthy of living up to Scotland's great tennis tradition...

  2. People who link their twitter and facebook updates to P&B's status bar does my tits right in. I don't give a fuck what you had for dinner, what movies you watch or who you met last nigh. No-one on here does either. The majority of you don't even post on the site itself so fuck off. Get the twitter and facebook link de-activated, Div.

  7. It's just struck me now that the police in GTA are surprisingly laid back when it comes to mass murder.

  8. This sounds harsh, but I fear you're maybe right. He does have real qualities and I was never one of those that's torn into him over the last season. He has a subtlety of touch which is not in-keeping with the Desperate Dan appearance, perhaps best illustrated by the deft lay-off for Conroy's winner at Raith last year. However, teams cannot afford to employ (and field) front players who virtually never score goals. Of course there's more to the role than this, but two league goals - both against a relegated team - for a player who spent so long on the field is simply not good enough. Confidence was clearly a factor, but it got ridiculous at times. Against Stirling in February, he had the worst miss I've ever seen in the flesh - I watched Iwelumo's on TV - and his overall contribution diminished as the season dragged on too. By all accounts, he's a nice guy and I was sorry to hear that he skipped the end of season lap of honour, because he's been so wounded by the slagging he's received. He could still be a valuable player for someone at this level, but he needs to add goalscoring on a remotely consitent basis to what he does, or he doesn't justify being picked.

  10. Murray should look at the match like this; For the first set and the first 3 games of the second set, he was cruising. At no point in that period did he ever look like losing. After "that" missed volley, he was pish. So pish that he would have lost to the majority of the players in the top 100. He never lost because Nadal was great, he lost because he was shite.

  11. "Murray bottled it!" "Murray's shite" "Murray letting down the nation once again" All have been said on my Facebook. What people aren't realising is, is that Nadal is a fantastic player. Murray would have had to do something extraordinary to win the match. He played really well I thought, but Nadal is just a fantastic player. Nothing to do with Murray being "shite".

  12. Get a fucking grip. Nadal made 7 (SEVEN) unforced errors all match. Sure Murray's head dropped, but the simple fact is, in most games - you normally get a 2nd chance and things begin to even out. Not with Nadal - he just keeps beating you down until the match is over.

  13. Black Swan. WTF? I want my 108 minutes back. It did my head in that every scene with dialogue never seemed to last more than 30 seconds. 1/10

  18. I haven't bothered to research back but I suspect I was probably one of them. I'm not sure when you said it though? I think it was maybe not long after McMenamin arrived and certainly for me at that point Holmes was still a major contributor even if he wasn't scoring. He got steadily worse as the season wore on though. Also I've tended to believe that Weatherston was better out wide than he ever looked through the middle. I did change my mind a little in the last month or two of the season though when he had several decent outings as a striker and looked a good partner with McMenamin.

  19. Let's not say never, there is still plenty of time to get some inspirational signings completed before the start of the new season. In fact, maybe some of the ones already signed up could be better than expected. I do however think we are all pinning too much hope on the youth players coming through.
