Betting Tips Week 20

Partick cost us a 4/1 treble last weekend after Stranraer and over 2.5 goals in the Rangers game obliged, a similar mix of bets could pay this week in the games that are spread out over Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, presuming they survive the weather.
Inverness did us a favour last weekend by being involved in a quite high scoring match against Rangers and as the most open team in the league it could be worth following goals in their game once again this week. There have been 25 goals in the last 6 Inverness matches which is extremely high and the team who has had the third highest amount of goals in their games during that time period is Aberdeen, they have had 19 goals in their last six games. If any game in the SPL is going to be high scoring this weekend it should be Inverness v Aberdeen, especially as the last 5 meetings between the teams at this venue have contained 17 goals, over 2.5 goals should be backed in this match at odds of 21/20.
There have been many low scoring matches in the SPL recently, last weekend under 2.5 goals would have been a winning bet in 4 out of 6 games. This week’s lowest scoring match could easily end up being Dundee Utd v Hibs. The away side have a shocking record in front of goal recently with just 2 goals in 6 matches but their defence has still been okay during that time period conceding 8 goals. Dundee Utd haven’t conceded or scored a great deal of goals in their last 6 games with 6 goals for and 7 against and under 2.5 goals looks a good bet here at 8/11. Only 1 of the last 5 Dundee Utd games have had over 2.5 goals whilst only 1 of the last 6 for Hibs have had over 2.5 goals.
In Division 1 Dundee are a pretty short price to beat Greenock Morton but it is easy to see why and it can be argued that 8/13 is still a good price on the home side. Dundee are top of the form table with 5 wins and a draw from 6 games whilst no side has picked up fewer points in that time period than Greenock Morton have have lost 4 times in their last 6 games. On recent form it’s the best team in the league against the worst and the best team should come out on top.
Another noteworthy bet comes from the lower divisions on Boxing Day in the game between Arbroath and Stirling Albion. It is another game where the home team is a short price at just 2/5 but it looks a pretty sure bet with Arbroath holding the joint best home record in the league after 6 wins and 2 draws from their 8 games on home turf. The worst away record belongs to Stirling Albion who have just 4 points from 6 away games and with Stirling losing their last 6 league games it looks very likely that their poor form will continue.
Those that enjoy a bit of risk might want to go with an accumulator from these four selections, alternatively you can back trebles and the accumulator (4 bets in total) which is a bit less risky as a treble would pretty much cover the entire bet.
