My old portable DVD player has packed in so I'm buying a new one for xmas. Heard of the newer versions that can tune into digital tv but don't know very much about them. Not many electrical stores seem to stock them and I can't see many on the net. They all seem to be unknown makes with none made by known brands.

Has anyone bought one or seen one working, I'm curious how good a reception you need or get for the so called digital tv. Furthermore, if anyone can recommend a good place to look it would be a big help.


Secondly, I'm getting sat nav for my dads xmas and have seen the basic tom tom in Currys for 99 quid. It seemes fine and has Uka dn Irish maps which is all he'd need. Also picks up any speed cameras as well. Could anyone give me advice on whether this is a good deal and what their recommendations would be.
