Really looking forward to this one. The Cup is special - especially since the winners of this round could meet one of the big boys (maybe Raith) in the next round. I believe we're taking a good crowd (for us) to this game.
Not taking anything for granted, but on form, we should win.
Nice feeling for a change for Brechin to be the big city against Edinburgh!

Edinburgh city will win 2-1 in a tight affair. They are full of comfidence after beating Gretna the other week. Be afraid red in the bed, be very afraid.

I'd give City a small chance with our best XI on the park, but after a fairly physical affair at Gretna, we resemble the walking wounded this week with four important players doubtful.
RedintheBed I wouldn't lose any sleep if I were you.

I've been a Brechin supporter for many years. I've learned that nothing is taken for granted!!
Despite that, I'm looking for a good day out and a huge win.

What are the chances of the match being on?
Sounds like it's really frosty in Edinburgh. Has Meadowbank got heating? - Will they switch it on?
Been looking forward to this one - it's gotta be on!

It is getting pretty cold here now.
Would be surprised if the game was off though. Fingers crossed.

I am not really confident of the game being on. Its been getting frosty since 4pm. Still it better be, my work christmas night out is based around this, so i have a few edinburgh's coming who will be supporting brechin.
p.s. I live in Edinburgh, so have kept a keen eye on the weather as it is my only "home game" of the season!

Will it be on this week???
Always a problem with playing conditions when playing "wee" teams.
Can't make it on a Monday so hoping I can be there to cheer on the BIG City tomorrow.

Not seen the pitch myself, but the reports are promising. I think there is an inspection at around 10 am. Fingers crossed the game goes ahead tomorrow, monday is not good for anybody.

Called that one wrong.... there was bad frost this morning and the pitch is solid apparently.
GAME OFF! Monday it is then.
So why was it when we phoned up the club at 10:15 they told us the game was definately on? Yet half an hour later we were told it was off?
What a fucking shambles.

The referee was doing the pitch inspection at 10.15 so don't understand how you were told the game was on. It was the right decision to put the game off. I was on the pitch at 2.30 and the majority was still solid.

Assuming it would be segregated and you would get the Trinity Road End, 3/4 of the Hedge side and about 1/4 of the side oppositite, you're looking at about 1,500.
No chance of Diack coming back in January now as he is really hitting some good form it seems for Brechin.

cool cheers man
dont know if 1500 would be enough to cope with the demand
our fans come out for the scottish cup for some strange reason
few years ago we took 4000 to ayr
last season we took over 3000 to stjohnstone
might have to be all ticket for the away end then!

Brechin is further away than those though, and we are 2 divisons below you. I'd be surprised if you took more than 1,500, only Dundee have taken more than that to the Glebe in a long, long time.

yeah true i'd be surprised too
but for some strange reason we seem to love away days in the cup!
plus there will be a few fans who havent been to Glebe Park before, defo not on a saturday afternoon as the last 2 games we have been up were played midweek, so that might add on a few more!

There's no chance we'll take that number to Brechin.
As has been pointed out, it's a fair old trek, 110 miles in fact. Add in the fact of no train station and therefore the vast majority will be traveling by supporters bus.
Ten buses is 500 fans, add in another 2-300 by car and that'll be the likely figure.

it may be 110 miles but its pretty much motorway/dual carriageway all the way. how many fans do you normally take to pittodrie/ tannadice? and surely if demand is higher they will just hire more buses...

You obviously know him and I thought he was going in January as well when he was out of the team. All I can say is he is certainly not playing like someone who is just working his ticket and will be off at the first opportunity.
He was outstanding last night and although it was not against the highest quality opposition he put a lot of effort in and looked really sharp and keen to do well for the team.
