I really want to purchase myself a nice new shiny laptop but I'm unsure about a few things and hoping someone on here can help.

I currently have a desktop PC with spec P4 3.2GHz 1GB RAM which there is nothing wrong with but I just want more space in my room. Basically is an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz faster than what I currently have. Would it mean that I get double the processing power or just the ability to use the 2.66GHz much more efficiantly?

Also does 64bit Windows make any difference?

EDIT: I forgot to ask can anyone recommend a particular brand or model of laptop!

Cheers in advance to anyone who can help me!

Why will a laptop give you more space in your room?

Aye...get a Dell. I've got an XPS 1730 which is an absolute beast of a laptop. Can play all the leading games you care to throw at it and looks the bogs dollox.

PC = Large + needs a desk
Laptop = Small and portable + can be put away in a drawer when not in use
