BOOB Stranraer Loyal!!!!!!!
Cant wait for saturday always love going away to Forfar biggrin.gif Great wee pub we go to...usually always get loads of pub time so half cut so lots of singing tongue.gif Your right on top of the pitch also helps and usually lots of abbuse given to opposition keeper..but most important of al..BRIDIES biggrin.gif

So Loons how are your team doing on saturday? Whta do you's expect for saturday? no idea what Stranraer will turn up ohmy.gif hopefully the one that plays good football and gets results:D
glasgow loon
Given we have just won at home for the 1st time since beating yourselves on march 15th,am not sure what to expect.

I would think it will be a close game anyway and dont want a midweek replay at stranraer.
loyal-blue
Really looking forward to this one!
Nice to get a break from sh*tty league games. laugh.gif
Should be a close game, but we should have too much quality! *fingers crossed*
meenanisaloon
2nd home win of the season, then either of the old firm in the next round is whats needed

blue ayr
Stranraer and too much quality in the same sentence? Theres something just totally wrong there. No game is easy for us as the Girvan tie last year proved, as said fingers crossed but never too confident these days. sad.gif

Forfar's bridies are the most over rated thing I have ever encountered.
nofixedability
Check the weather in the morning on this one guys, baltic as I left Forfar tonight!
glasgow loon
A hard frost overnight and its still -3 at the moment.

Its not meant to get above 0 all day going by the forecast.
Blue1870
Phoned station park. Guy has to phone sfa which only opens at 9am to arrange a ref to inspect pitch. They have got covers down on parts of the pitch so it's 50/50.
glasgow loon
I see lochee V ayr is off and they had covers down. dont hold out much hope for our game then.

Although the grass embankments at lochee would be the problem.
Blue1870
pitch inspection at 10am

Captain Kerthorse
not a suprise
Captain Kerthorse
Game will be played next Saturday
marf-1870
Not good to hear seeing as the supporters bus left at 9 this morning, although I am slightly pleased because I was missing the came today hopefully a bus runs next week for this one.
Blue1870
Agreed pitch inspection should have been at 9am. Car and minibus load of committee had reached Girvan while I expect supporters bus had reached Ayr - 50 odd miles.

Yes, sadly I can't make every game in the season!
loyal-blue
We went to Kilmarnock game anyway.
blue ayr
Winner of our tie versus the winner of the Forres/Dalbeattie game. Good incentive for all 4 teams to know they could get through and be in the next round with the chance of a good draw.
Captain Kerthorse
*looks out the window and frowns*
marf-1870
A decent draw for whoever gets through, as they would surely be favourites to go on to the 5th with a good chance of a big draw and maybe even tv coverage.

Captain Kerthorse
*looks out the window and looks a bit more hopefull*
Blue1870
Has the snow thawed. Or is the pitch still frozen underneath. Slight frost forecast for the next two nights.
glasgow loon
Cant say anything about the pitch, but the snow is more like ice than snow.

Also given the forecast is not that great for friday and saturday it looks to me as if monday night will be the earliest it goes ahead,as sunday is to be mild and monday is the same going by the 5 day forecast.
Clayhole Blue
Can anyone in Forfar update us on the likelihood of the game going ahead tomorrow?
glasgow loon
Its been raining at times during the morning and the ice and snow is disappearing.

The grass is solid underneath so am not sure if it will thaw in time, also depends on overnight weather if there is a frost that might make it game off.

Still think monday night is more likely than saturday.
Captain Kerthorse
0930 pitch inspection tomorrow
Cairn Terrier
Is there a bus going to Forfar tomorrow?
With a pitch inspection at 9:30am it couldn't leave till 10'ish probably.
Blue1870
off again. joke. bring back summer football
Captain Kerthorse
game off

played monday 1945 KO

The bus met about 9 then waited untill we knew whether it was on or off before leaving or not.
Captain Kerthorse
brrrr
glasgow loon
having just come home it was 6 degrees on the gauge and has also been raining, unfortunatly the grass is still solid so monday i would think is out.

Were you out when they called back to tell you it was OFF again.Shocking,Stranraer team 5 minutes from Forfar when they got the call.Forecast was frost, hardly a difficult one to work out.
Captain Kerthorse
No I was at the ground you cheeky scamp
marf-1870
How much longer does this go on for?
Neilly
That's a real shiter.

Really feel for the Stranraer players and any supporters who have made the trip. This must be costing supporters and team buses a shit load surely that they don't have?

Last week we were told that the whole of Scotland would be buried in snow, how much did we get ....not one flake!!! Some you win some you don't! Feel sorry for any fans who travelled, but lets face it, its not the first time this has happened and it won't be the last!!!
Mon_The_Fife
Feel for the Stranraer fans who made the trip and no doubt some will go up again on Wednesday. The way it's going these games aren't going to get played in time before the 4th round fixtures.
allez le blues
Was having a wee pre match pint in the Caledonian before the game when we got the news sad.gif Took a we wander up to the park and the pitch although crispy on the top was actually soft below, could take a stud no bother, car key went in and turned. Forfar then went on and had a training session. Only person happy with the call off was the ref as he chuckled away when he left with his match fee in the hip pocket mad.gif

At least it was the company diesel laugh.gif
Jambo Stu
When is this next scheduled for? Will they keep trying this week till its played or what? Only asking as ive got a bet on it laugh.gif

From what I can gather

The SFA super intelligent rules state that they will try mondays and wednesdays until the game is played.

QUOTE
28. D rawn or Unplayed Ties, excluding Semi-Finals and Final Ties

(a) When a first match in the Preliminary Round (if applicable), Round One, Round

Two or Round Three is drawn, or is not played on or before the original date, the

drawn or unplayed match shall be replayed or played on the Saturday following

the first match or the date fixed therefor, or in the second midweek following

the original match date, unless the two clubs, the relevant authorities and the

Association are all agreeable that the match be played on an earlier date. The

drawn or unplayed match shall take place on a day to be mutually agreed by the

two clubs, other than Thursday or Friday (Rule 47(a) refers).

(cool.gif In subsequent Rounds, the drawn or unplayed match shall be replayed or played in

the second midweek following the first match or the date fixed therefor, on a day

other than Thursday or Friday, unless the two clubs, the relevant authorities and the

Association are all agreeable that the match be played on an earlier date.

© If, in either case, a tie is still undecided, clubs are required to make two attempts to

replay the tie in succeeding mid-weeks until a decision is reached. These attempts

will be made on Mondays and Wednesdays. Clubs may however elect to play on a

Tuesday rather than a Monday, but if doing so, will be required to play or replay on

the Wednesday of that midweek in the event of a draw or a postponement. Cup

Competition replays will have priority over league matches either scheduled or

re-scheduled except in exceptional circumstances and by agreement of the Board.

Sadly travelling all that distance is no laughing matter for Stranraer sad.gif
Know how that feels after we go to the outskirts of Ayr one night
Captain Kerthorse
10am inspection tomorow - little chance of game going ahead at the moment.
Game would then be moved to next Monday 7.45pm KO) with our re-scheduled league game against Annan the following night put on the back burner.
Mon_The_Fife
Looks as though Kilmarnock and Motherwell will be fined so why don't the SFA give that money to the teams who have had to fork out for meaningless trips?

So I take it the re-arranged league fixtures will be re-arranged again? Better hope this doesn't end in a draw.

Unless I am reading this incorrectly it may have been re-imbursed to Stranraer, but by Forfar bizarrely. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

45. Travel – Financial Assistance and Guarantee

(a) The Association will, as a measure of financial assistance, provide a payment to each

club drawn away from home in the Preliminary Round (if applicable), Round One

and Round Two of the Competition, except those which are played on a neutral

ground, whether it be a first match or a replay, travelling a distance of more than 50

miles to play a tie. In this event, and subject to the submission of an original travel

invoice, the Association will refund up to a maximum of £400 to the club.

(cool.gif In all other ties from Round Three onwards, except those which are played on a

neutral ground, the ground club, whether it be a first match or a replay, shall give a

financial guarantee to the opposing club, up to a maximum of £400.

© Subject to the receipts being sufficient, when a match is played on a neutral ground,

both clubs shall be guaranteed reimbursement of expenditure incurred, up to a

maximum of £400 as defined in section (a) foresaid.

Captain Kerthorse
i dunno - i think it would cover repeat trips though - just the trip that is incurred when the actual game takes place?
