Full Version: Celtic - Tactics Vs Aalborg?

Personally I think good ol' Gordon went in with the wrong tactics! Not faulting the 4-4-2 formation at all, I think that was the best formation to go with, but against a team that's conceded 11 goals in 4 games before the encounter, why in f*cks name do you put Gary Caldwell in the centre of midfield?

Now I hope it's not just me, and I know at the time Celtic had Limited resources for the game, but for a game of that stature, having no pace on the wings was a mistake from the start. Barry Robson is well past the years he could tank it down the wing and is more suited to a central role and as for Nakamura, well he doesn't run with the ball, He stops and passes back the way. Personally, I would have had Robson in the Middle playing with Brown (as they have done so well this season) and have Maloney on from the start, giving their wingbacks hell and Gary Caldwell not featuring at all!

As for the substitutions, well Sherridan had a hooor of a game when he came on and Maloney didnt have the chance to make an Impact, I hope Strachan get's a bollocking for that, because it was blummin painful watching that, and I'm no Tim!

That's my personal opinion, I was just wondering the Celtic fans opion on the game? And the Blue brigade can throw there tupence in aswell laugh.gif

For what it's worth, Celtic outplayed Aalborg last night, dominated the game and just froze in front of goal.

The kind of night you need a Kris Boyd in your squad, because Samaras was a non-starter, Celtic should have won last night, they just couldn't finish.

The tactics were fine for a game like this, the strikers just let the manager down.

And badly.
