I'll set the ball rolling for the weekend, Corals prices.

MILLWALL (4/9) to beat Aldershot
The New Den seems a bit of a fortress at the minute and I just cannot see League Two Aldershot taking anything from the Lions.

CHESTERFIELD (4/11) to beat Droylsden
Blue Square North Club Droylsden pulled off perhaps the result of the round with a shock replay win over Darlington but I don't see history repeating itself with a win at in-form Chesterfield who apart from losing at Bradford last night have really turned their season around with a recent impressive run of form.

TORQUAY UNITED (4/7) to beat Oxford United
The Gulls are perhaps in the in-form team in the Blue Square Premier with seven wins and a draw from their last eight games. Oxford have flattered to deceive this season, their form has improved margainly of late but not enough to tip the form book.

SPARTANS (8/5) to beat Elgin City
Elgin are having a disasterous season and I really think Spartans have a point to prove, especially still smarting having not getting into the league and on the back of a disasterous defeat at the hands from Dalbeattie last weekend.

£10 stake brings you a return of 81.19

suprised that no-one has posted anything so far. Quite a dodgy one this weekend with there being alot of cup games on.

ones that i like the look of so far are

bolton @7/4 against a gash sunderland team

tottenham @ 10/11 to beat everton

wolves @ 13/10 to beat birmingham (three key players out, carsley the notable one as they usually play well when he's in the team) wolves always play well against the bigger teams in the league beating cardiff and sheff utd away respectively in the last few weeks

dundee look decent @ 8/5 to beat st. johnstone. I know that saints have been on form, but dundee look such a better team of late with their new manager and wouldnt bet against them on their own patch.

Firstly, in the Scottish Cup, Clyde at home to Montrose. I know Clyde are quite pish but Montrose haven't been all that great either, i'm sure (and correct me if i'm wrong) Montrose put Clyde out a cup a season or two ago, if it did indeed happen then I can't see a repeat performance.

Shire are a much improved lot this season, but I can't see Livingston failing to beat them, the same goes for Brechin at Edinburgh, Brechin are on a fine run at the moment, and also Plastick Whistle at Stirling, as Albion are struggling a bit.

I see Arbroath are priced about 3/1 at Bayview. I hope i'm wrong but if our recent form continues then its not a bad bet...

Agree with Mr Canary about the Spartans bet!

Now for my tip of the year, the FA Cup always provides a few shocks, on Sunday one such shock will be Histon beating Leeds Utd. Leeds are an inconsistent bunch, whilst Histon are quite tidy and will be well up for this, you heard it here first, probably.

morton look very generous at 6/5 on laddies away to us
they are the form team in div 1 and i think we will give them a game but not good enough to beat them
raith at home to alloa is also worth a punt aswell as brechin away to edinburgh
forfar at home to stranraer is also vey tempting
fanny paddery
not seeing much discussion here, thts about 20 teams mentioned already laugh.gif

Ayr 4/11 to win at Lochee - A safe bet in my eyes. I can see us scoring at least 4. We have scored 13 goals in our last 4 matches and are starting to play a lot better also. We tend to do well in the cup competitions. I hear were taking 7 supporters busses up there. smile.gif A good vocal backing and plenty goals hopefully!

Ross County 4/9 to beat Dumbarton - Yes its the cup and strange results do get thrown up but I can't see it happening here.

This double pays almost even money and I might make it pay for my day out to Lochee! I may throw in Stenny also. Anyone any views on that game??

I agree with the Spartans bet! 17/10 at hills! Only 11/8 at other places!

Forfar's home record's woeful, though. Admittedly I haven't checked the odds but they'd have to be pretty long before I'd consider it. Stranraer aren't that bad.

We are far too inconsistent this season. Had a shocking start at home but stuttered to our first home victory against Berwick two weeks back so hopefully that can motivate us.

It's a game we can win but not sure if we will.

We have joint top scorer Johnny Russell out injured and our other top scorer Graeme Gibson didn't play last week as he was involved in a car crash although I havn't heard anything to suggest it was too serious so he may play.

I don't really know how well Stranraer have been travelling this season but suppose you will know their team better than I do. One thing we are is very difficult to beat. We havn't lost by more than one goal all season. It depends which Forfar team turns up on the day; the one that can play or the one that won't.

As far as the weekend betting goes I fancy a Morton Spurs double.

Price are Bees at Barrow tomorrow night?

If we are 2/5 I would get on it. No matter if it's the Scottish Cup or not the top of our league should be able to deal with a team in the lower HFL comfortably.
Cowden til i die
Brentford are 5/6.

I realy fancy Ross County and Wigan. Both decent odds and might add another to make a nice treble

You can get the double chance of Newcastle or draw (4/7) v Middlesbrough and Cardiff or draw (4/6) v Swansea.

There's not that much between the teams in the 2 games mentioned is there? Might do a decent sized double.

I will be having £750 on Partick Thistle at EVENS with sky bet cool.gif cool.gif

man united at EVENS doesnt look too shabby. Fergie i think has only lost once to a team that is managed by someone that he used to coach when they were playing under him.

Reckon there's a lot of money to be made this weekend, particularly from the cup ties.
Probably going to chuck the £20 I would have spent going to the Peterhead game on a Morton win at that 13/10 price. Tricky game but we are doing very well at the moment. We've also won our last three matches at Balmoor.
If Partick are evens at Forthbank then I might be tempted to put a tenner on them, although their away form is rancid at 1st division level.
THE HUNTER GATHERER
Il be taking Wigan at 4/5 at home. After a shakey run a good reult against Everton on monday should set them up for a home win

Wolves 13/10, big Iwelumo seems to be banging the goals and Birmingham havent been to consistent against the bigger teams in the league

Aberdeen 10/11 i can see Aberdeen beating the well. After a spirited performace against us last week and with it being Calderwoods 200th game in charge, home win.

Will take Morton as well, they helped me pick up a few quid on tuesday night and after 3 wins on the spin should win again

I don't like backing Morton but I am taking the 2.30 on Bet365. We are indeed a form team, we've already broken our Balmoor duck, and our only real injury worry is James Grady, who probably won't play - but we did win on Saturday without him anyway. I'm only putting 7 units on when my heart is telling me to put 10 for the simple reason that it's a cup game away from home.

I'm putting 2 units on Recreativo vs Villarreal being over 2.5 goals even though it contradicts the formbook at Recre because I think that with Villarreal having Gonzalo suspended and with Recre fighting for their lives it could be a bit of a stormer. Yes, Recre have only scored five times this season, but I think it's worth a small punt of 2 units. You can get 2.28 for this at time of writing.

I'm putting 4 units on Getafe vs Real Madrid being under 2.5 as both sides have forward problems and Geta are going to play for the draw as they did at Camp Nou. You can get 1.93 on this at time of writing.

I'm putting 8 units on Tenerife vs Zaragoza being over 2.5 due to their free-scoring natures. You can get 2.06 for this at time of writing.

I'm putting 1 unit on a Lyon - Valenciennes draw at 5.5. Valenciennes are in a massive crisis while Lyon are on cloud nine after reaching the next stage of the Champions League. Furthermore VAFC don't play well away from home, while Lyon's Gerland is a fortress. So why am I backing the draw? Simply because I think that VAFC have their backs so firmly against the wall that if they're going to strike back it's going to be now, whereas Lyon may well rotate their squad for this game. I have low confidence in this actually occuring, hence 1 unit, but I think it's a possibility.

Lyon will also be without Karim Benzema. I still reckon Lyon will knock 3 or 4 past them as they looked good against La Viola midweek.

In the non-cup games I like the look of:

Aston Villa 8/13 - Fulham have picked up but still poorer away from the Cottage. Villa will have Carew back and have had two fantastic results previously.

Man Utd 5/6 - Lost both derbies last season and haven't won or scored in their past two matches. Maybe that is reason to back against them but I can only see them winning especially if Berbatov is playing which I think he will.

Plymouth 4/5 - The simple reason that I think they are a lot better than Blackpool.

Watford 4/5 - New manager, were unlucky midweek and Doncaster well they are Doncaster.

I also like the look of Wolves and Sheff Wed but not as confident about them as the ones above. The thing about Wolves is that they keep winning in these tight games against teams around them and I know as soon as I back them they won't win. Sheff Wed have a great home record and have only conceded two at Hillsborough (I think). Dundee Utd are also worth a look.

I think I will keep my league and cup selections seperate but these are the ones I facny in the cup:

Bradford 6/5 home to Leyton Orient.
Rochdale 5/6 away to Forest Green - Rochdale have always got goals in them.
Carlisle Ev. away to Grays - Third time lucky.
Peterborough 8/11 - Always fancy them at home.
Livingston 4/7 away to Shire.
Albion Rovers 18/8 home to Queens Park.
Morton 6/5 away to Peterhead.
Raith 4/9 home to Alloa.

Will narrow these down to a 5/6 team coupon.

Three teams to look at in Europe:

B.M'gladbach 5/6 home to Cottbus
Catania 4/6 home to Lecce - Catania great at home.
Lille 8/13 home to Lorient

This probably should be on the other thread. wink.gif

Although I fully expect us to get beat tomorrow our form up at Pittodrie has been pretty decent in the last few seasons.

Remember going up there on a bad run a couple of times and getting a result.

Any reason not to back Airdrie, Stenny and Ayr?

Looking for someone with a bit more knowledge of these ties to me.

1st time in ages nothing has jumped at me in the coupon, fancied Pompey at evens but last nights game has made me think twice, euro hangover and all that jazz.

We have virtually a full squad to choose from, and although a few of our players are serving suspensions, they are available for the scottish cup games.

1/2ish is about right for us, we probably will win but it's not brilliant value.

20 banger on this mob.

Bees away to Barrow 5/6

Bees are getting a bit of form back now after a slight blip and seem to be a lot more solid at the back. Good result in midweek away to Luton with Nathan"El Banjo"Elder getting the winner and this boy is a handful on his day. Like a black Scott Dalziel. Barrow are a well below average Conference team and have dross like Carlos Logan or whatever he is called, a winger who gets hit in the first minute and you won't see him again. I don't usually bet Friday games but f**k it eh.

Warriors away to Clach 2/5

Two of our best players Lyle and Motion will return tomorrow and give the side that little bit extra going forward, one from the full back position and the other from left midfield. We are solid at the back and don't give much away against the good teams in our league so if we play like we can we should easily take this game 2-0 or 3-0. We don't hammer many teams so that is a big score for us.

Ayr away to Lochee 4/11

Ayr simply have too much quality for this mob surely? Stevenson, Borris, Gormley et al SHOULD run riot against the Candle stick makers laddie at centre half and such like.

Harry Wraggs away to Stirling 10/11

If this game is on(its fucking baltic roond here) then Partick have no excuses. A nice big wide park against a pretty dross looking Albion outfit. Partick lack consistency but man for man have way more quality than Stirling it's scary.

Only mud bath pitches can f**k up the first three. Only the game being off can f**k up the last.

Dinny gie me any eh yer " its the cup anyhing can happen" pish. Better players should beat worse players.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't a tight game. Swampy's right - Lyon will rotate heavily and will also be without Juninho. Sans Benzema, Lyon have found it difficult to breakdown teams this season, without both players they will find things tough.

Here is my line for this weekend:

All odds with WH

AIRDRIE UNITED v Cove 3/10
EAST FIFE v Arbroath 4/6
Edinburgh City v BRECHIN 4/11
INVERURIE LOCOS v Vale of Leithen 2/5
RAITH v Alloa 4/9
ROSS COUNTY v Dumbarton 2/5
Stirling v PARTICK THISTLE 10/11

I know I know, a bit ambitious AND betting against the Beanos but I like the look of it.

I reckon Airdrie, Ross County & Brechin should win comfortably, Inverurie Locos are flying and probably the best non-league team out there, Raith and East Fife have both beaten tomorrows opposition recently.(Raith 4-1 Alloa & East Fife 3 Arbroath 2 (with 9 men!)) and eh that leaves Partick......I just can't see anything other than a Partick victory.

I think Blyth are really good value to continue their heroics against Bournemouth at 13/2, I'll be having a small wager on that.

Not a great coupon this week, Genoa (4/7) have a 100% home record but Bologna have picked up under Mihajlovic so I may just leave it. Fancy Cagliari to beat Genoa's city rivals Samp who don't travel well at 8/5 in Sardinia. Udinese will surely beat crummy Chievo at 4/9 and I fancy in form Roma to continue their good run by beating a demoralised Fiorentina in the Olimpico at a shade under evens.
