Hmmm. If you enjoyed Gears 1 then you will love Gears of War 2 . Mirrors Edge is amazing, even if the story is short. The achievments keep you going tho.

Mirrors Edge is only good if you can prevent yourself from projectile vomiting when you are playing it.

Older games worth picking up:

Assassin's Creed - a bit repetitvie towards the end, but a phenomenally unique experience.
Call Of Duty 4 - it's over a year old but is still pricey even second hand, as the multiplayer is coveted so.
Half-Life: The Orange Box - amazing. Worth it just for Portal alone, but all the games in the package (there are 5) are brilliant.

halo 3 is good, but i never played the other two, so it took a bit of getting into

Best 360 games I've played are:

Halo 3, CoD4 (ain't got 5 yet), Far Cry 2 seems decent, ain't had a chance to play it a lot yet.

GTA4 was a disappointment for me, not got the same longevity as the classics on the PS2 imho

The Orange Box - a collection of 5 games including the single greatest game of all time, Half Life 2, a couple of episodic expansions, Portal and Team Fortress 2.

Bioshock - Best (original) game on the 360. It's kinda hard to describe why this game is so great but I now compare all games to this. "That was good but is it as good as Bioshock...?"

Mass Effect - KotOR with big guns instead of Lightsabers. KotOR was awesome.

Mass Effect and Bioshock are both excellent choices.

Also worth mentioning: Fallout 3, Fable 2.

im not an xbox person but Fallout 3 on PS3 is possibly game of year/last few years IMO

Mass Effect is the single best game on 360 in my opinion.

I play FIFA 09 more than anything else though.

Depends what genres you are into but I would go with:

FIFA09/PES2009
I'm guessing you like football (lol) so one of these is a must have.

COD4
The best shooter on the 360. Great story and multiplayer coupled with fantastic gameplay make this a must have.

Mass Effect
If you like your rpg/sci-fi then this is another must have as it completely blows away the rest of the genre. If you don't like rpg/sci-fi you should still get it.

PS: Mirros Edge is complete and utter pish.

Pro Evolution 2009 : Lots of game modes.
Gears of War 2 : Not played it yet though lol
