reaon i ask you people, is My gran has bought me an Arcade system for my christmas, but i'd quite like the option of a hard drive should i need it

my question to you - is it possible? and if so, how would i go about doing it?
Mon The Clyde
Yes. You can buy them in shops like Game, Zavi etc etc or have a look here

Around £70 for the hard drive at most places.

edited to add; you would need it if you download stuff (like demos etc) from the Marketplace. I'm in the same boat as you mate, need to buy one myself.

wonderful!

does this go INSIDE the console, or externally?
Mon The Clyde
Remove the grey'ish top (the button at the left, push it then lift and then replace it with the hard drive.

cool - see with the Arcade system, is there enough space to save a saved game to it?

comet were selling the 20 gb hard disks for £19.99 last week. Had stock in the Edinburgh stores. maybe worthwhile popping in to see. was in the kirkcaldy store and he searched locally for me. could't be bothered going back to edinburgh to get it. though with downloading games to the hd better starting with a 60b or even 120gb if you are willing to pay upwards of £75
