Ah yes, the good ol' strategy of claiming to put someone on "ignore" while continuing to insult them. The refuge of the cowardly and the pathetic.

The only place which would run EK close is Glenrothes but I think EK is a good bit bigger.

Irvine is another large town without a senior side. There's little doubt East Kilbride is the largest such example though.

Cumbernauld maybe.

Interesing that Ross County would seem to be the league team from the least populated town in Scotland, going by those figures anyway. Makes their average home attendance all the more impressive, really, whilst ourselves and Albion Rovers can only hang our heads in shame. sad.gif

Falkirk doesn't have a team in it anymore with the Shire groundsharing with us.

Quite a large population too; 138,016 according to a census in 2005.

Edit to add: Falkirk don't actually play in Falkirk anymore, their stadium is in Grangemouth.

But Ross County's fan base isn't exclusive to Dingwall, otherwise they'd be called Dingwall FC or something. They represent the Ross and Cromarty area, which has a population of 50,000.

That's the population of the council area. The population of Falkirk town is a mere 32,890 (2004 figure.)

Exactly what I was going to point out. Places like Conon Bridge and Maryburgh are right next door and County probably have the largest catchment area (geographically) of any Scottish Club. I even know County fans as far north as Durness as technically it's the nearest senior team. I'm sure a lot more houses have been built around Dingwall since 1991 too.

As mentioned in a previous thread after some Raith fans started slagging our gates, Brechin probably have the smallest catchment area / fan base of as the nearest places of any reasonable size that aren't tiny villages or farms are two places called Montrose and Forfar which you may have heard of wink.gif

Accurate in every detail - well perhaps with the exception that you appear to have credited him with the mental capacity to be able to construct and mobilise a strategy. wink.gif

So by that logic, all Glasgow Rangers fans come from Glasgow then, huh? wink.gif

Most teams supports aren't exclusively from the town in their name. For example there is no other senior team in the Stirling area, which has a population of around 80,000, despite the actual town's population being closer to 30,000.

As can we considering the population of Berwick borough is 26'000. Thats not including the population of Berwickshire which is 25'000 as well.

Surely it's the eejits in Stirling and Coatbridge who choose not to follow their local team that should hang their heads in shame. I am certainly proud of the efforts my club have went to in recent years to attract new fans along, but it's been to no avail as Old Firm fans really can't see past the nose on the end of their face.

A kind of give-away is the road it is built at the end of, Grangemouth Road. tongue.gif
