Anyone seen their club's latest accounts. If so, what are the headline figures? Turnover & Profit/loss?

Mr Drifter & Co must have finished ours by now and we should be receiving them shortly I'd think. cool.gif

Turnover?

I'm sure an apple one was mentioned in the Fixed Assets.

I think ours usually comes out around late November/early December so we should be getting ours soon. Our AGM is usually around the New Year period, well, it was last year and the year before.

Dundee records record profits of £100m.

P.S: I wish. laugh.gif

Investment, if it was in the form of either loans or issued shares, would not affect the Profit and Loss account one iota and wouldn't help you "break even". It'll shore up the cash reserves but it would have nothing to do with the trading results. Unless it was a donation anyway...........

Technically you're right, but it has the same difference. The money from the investment will hopefully turn out to be more than a loan.

Can we stop calling it " an investment".It's not an investment; it's people ( mainly Dees Fans) giving the club money to keep you going, with absolutely no chance of a return on their capital or even the return of their capital...

It is called CHARITY plain and simple..... wink.gif

How does that breakdown between football revenue and other income streams? Is it spilt in the accounts?

You're right. People who plough money into Dundee will never see it again.

It's an investment nevertheless, but one that they know they will make massive losses.

To be fair it aint just Dundee, it's probably 90% of all football clubs...

We "have" to pay them all back though. *sniggers*

We will welcome the "donation" by Saintees on Saturday. The gate reciepts will help a lot. biggrin.gif

Not SF1 - but Brentford made a loss of almost £500K in their latest accounts. A year when they sacked their manager (Terry Butcher) and got rid of their CEO. They are £9M in debt! ohmy.gif

QOS's results now out for year end 31/5/08:-

Turnover £1.77M (up from 770K)

Profit £543K (up from a £207K loss)

Good figures due to the Cup run. Hopefully some of the profit will be spent on the club's infrastructure.
dumfries.....boys
Queens made a profit of 535,915 for year ended 31st May 2008.It amazing what a good cup run can do.

Oh Shit.

Turnover up almost £1m to £1.78m....... proceeds from Cup run perhaps.

Cost of sales: £1,226,560 up £353,338. (Higher wages perhaps)

No cup run this year and same cost of sales could give rise to an operating loss this year of £450,000.

I imagine that some of the costs in the figures will be one off due to the Cup run....things like bonuses, accomodation, extra wages, trips to Spain etc. Even so, I'm slightly suprised that COS has risen so much.

As for spending the winfall.....assuming it is circa £500K, I'd like to see £100K added to the playing budget over the next 2 seasons, £200K used on infrastructure projects (perhaps to get the old tesco store usable and generating ongoing income) and £200K saved for a rainy day or future use. I think caution is the watchword in today's uncertain economic climate. There is certainly not enough money available to build stands or get Palmerston Park SPL-compliant.

I seem to remember that there was talk of repaying the debt of Blount etc - so that may leave us debt free with c £280k in the bank. However I know there was some discussion on whether the 'loan' was ever likely to be repaid - I wuld like to see it repaid so as we can be seen to deliver on our promises. I agree we need to do something with it - I would rather it was spent on infrastructure than players as we can reap the reward of improved infrastructure for years (esp if it is revenue genrating infrastructure).

I am worried about our costs being higher than turnover when we fall back to a 'normal' position next year. That's why we need to invest in revenue streams to lift our turnover on a more sustainable basis.
