Thinking of treating myself to a couple of fps games for the 360.

What is the best out of

Call Of Duty 5
Gears Of War 2
Left For Dead
Fallout 3

GOW isn't a FPS.

Out of that list, Fallout 3.

Call of Duty 4 is better than all of them really. If you must buy one from that list get Fallout 3, although not strictly an FPS really with the V.A.T.S. targeting system it probably just shades GOW2 and COD5 (WW II and Treyarch = yawn).

COD 4 Modern Warfare is probably the best FPS I've played on the 360. Gears of War 2 whilst technically not a FPS is still fucking amazing though!

You'll probably be able to pick up COD4 for a decent price now

Get The Orange Box if you don't already have it.

Out of that list though, I'd go for Gears 2.

You should play it drunk with friends. I don't think I've laughed so much in my life.

I think it's also the only game to actually leave me in pain after use. i could barely move my arm and had a huge bruise on my palm!!

Half Life 2 is by far the best FPS I have ever played.

You'll not have played the Wii then, done myself a fair few injuries on that thing.

Anyway, COD4 is the best FPS I've played.

My favorite FPS this year so far has been Quantum of Solace, it uses the COD4 engine, really under rated game. Ive yet to play much of COD5 or any of the other big xmas releases so far though.

Its a good homage to Goldeneye.

Gotta be COD WaW, but with Resistance coming out and Killzone next year, the quality in Xbox FPS is gonna falter.

COD4 is by far and away the best shooter on the 360: it's even better than the new COD.
It's just a scaled down version of the PC version of Battlefield 2, though.
