Why do we need stewards at games?

To maintain safety and meet government targets on employment figures.

Probably cheaper than Police.

If clubs employ a larger number of stewards, Plod can deploy fewer officers.

Otherwise i dont know. They dont do much else.

To meet the required jobsworth quota in a football stadium.

Normally I'd agree with you but since we told Rock Steady to f**k off the current lot of unemployable halfwits are far better.

Because standing up in a seated area puts the world in danger.

Slightly on/off topic, my mate was recording a song at a gig last night. Mr 'its more than my jobsworth to allow this' came over and oput his hand over the lens. What a dobber.

If we didnt have stewards then the EU would have a mountain of flourescent jackets.

The only thing I have seen stewards do is stand and do nothing, wind up fans and tell folk to sit down.

Completley pointless. Although I suppose they are just for 'show'. ie some folk will see a steward and maybe not do something which could get them in trouble.
