Brilliant game. First time buying Pro Evolution after becoming bored of FIFA 09 and haven't looked back. Become a Legend mode is excellent and the Master League is really good aswell. If you've got PES and fancy a game add my gamertag (Sheeba Yah Bass).

So far I'm in my third season in Become A Legend, starting my career off at Middlesbrough before moving to Bolton after pretty much a season on the bench. Became a first team regular at Bolton before earning a move to Newcastle in January. Decided to leave in the summer due to being played in left wing, when my guy's a striker! So now I'm at OGC Nice and capped for Scotland.

Anyway, if you've not got PES then I would definitely recommend it! Much better than FIFA by a long shot!

I'm still a PS2 man, can't afford a PS3. Is PES 2009 for the PS2 similar to previous versions? I played the PS3 version on demo and it was utter rubbish.

How do you work that one out?
I've been playing it since it came out and can't see any "Shit" elements to the game.

Exactly the same from what I can see although it has the utterly amazing Become A Legend mode which if you stick at it, is absolutely class.

For me PES has been treading water for the past 2 or 3 versions

They were the undisputed kings of real football game rather than the arcade crap that Fifa produced (I think this was probably around PES5)

This years version is almost like a rebranded version of last year with the legend option as the only significant change

I'm a PES player that gave Fifa a bash and found it to be shiny but unsubstantial. Player likenesses are laughable at times too compared to PES.

Maybe if PES does a big shiny marketing campaign you will come back next year.

Got them both and became bored of PES after I jhad signed for Real Madrid when I was 20 in BAL on professional. Online is absolutely shyte aswell. I have to say between the two of them I prefer Fifa 09 but PES is a decent game.

Tbh I think the game is much better than FIFA for gameplay, as I said, for the past few years I've been buying FIFA but this year I decided to try PES and, out of the two, I prefer PES by a mile. As for the graphics, I can't see much difference between the two games. Would maybe say FIFA edges it but other than the graphics I'd say Pro is a much better game.

Since this is a PES thread, a little help maybe please? I have just bought the game (for be a legend), is there a patch to give it a proper Scottish league, or anything like that?

I haven't bought a new pc game in yonks so have no idea what to do next in terms of updates and mods!

I picked it up on tuesday as it was £20 notes. Had to buy Fifa 09 last night. I was a Pro Evo chap until last year when I got Fifa instead. This years Pro Evo almost brought a tear it was that poor.

I've gave Pro Ev enough chances. The last 2 games were poor and it's my own fault for buying it again.

I put my copy on eBay this morning.

Fifa is excellent, the be an pro/be a legend is better on pro evo, online is better for fifa, and the overall game fifa is better now. Pro evo still plays a decent game of football, but its not a patch on Fifa.

In a word, yes!

Yeh, online is still poor, its why most people play FIFA now instead.

It is indeed very good when you get the hang of it (like all pro evo's)

Marrez the thing is its not poor its AWFUL. You go into a tackle and the player running with the ball pops up 15 yards up the pitch , every time you get the ball you basically score if you just sprint.
