Any Gretna 2008 fan interested in writing a piece for the AFC Wimbledon fanzine, Womble Underground Press (WUP) on how you are doing as a supporter run club in the EOS league? Not interested in the past, just about how you are doing this season and how you are enjoying returning to grass roots football. The fanzine is one of the biggest selling in English non-league football with a print run of about 800-1000.

It doesn't have to be Shakespeare and if a few of you are interested, we can make it a decent feature on your club. No payment alas apart from when I make it to one of your games, I'll buy you a pint. (like the one I owe Ed! tongue.gif ) You'll get an email copy of the fanzine including your article too.

PM me if you are interested. Cheers. beerchug.gif

You should also try Peebles. A team on the up, winning promotion to the Premier only to be scuppered by a enthusiastic Committee who decided that they wanted to go local and just knew that they had the support of all the local players who were desperate to join the new beginning. Add to that the thousands of supporters who were desperate to back the new messiahs and things were ready to rock - all they had to do was get rid of the players and management and bob's your uncle!

Months later, the dream is shattered. No players would entertain the thought of joining them, only a handful of fans take an interest, the Committee has suddenly gone AWOL and the team have yet to win a game!

Peebles are a football clubs equivalent of an high flying executive who was on the up only to discover cocaine. The buzz became to good to resist and it took over his life. Now, the executive is shoplifting and breaking into houses. Shunned by his friends and only living each day for another 'hit'. It's only a matter of time before he's caught out, jailed and removed from society never to be seen again.....

You'd better be quick though, I hear Hollywood are interested.....

peebles are a disgrace to the eos of scotland league and they should not be allowed to cintinue like this, selkirk are really bad and yet they take 4 of peebles, utter ndisgrace, they should just give up their place to one of the 1 st division team because people are making a mockery of the premier with the way they are going just now, my sunday league team would hammer peebles

Doesnt say much for Edin Uni or Easthouses who have both dropped points to Selkirk then does it. Selkirk seem to be having a go which means sometimes they will get hammered and other times they will pull off a shock result. A season is a marathon not a sprint nothing is ever decided in November, except maybe Peebles are going down!!!!!!

Agree that Selkirk aren't a good side but they are hard to break down and have a good goalkeeper! Think its a bit harsh to say they shouldn't be in the Premier as they have constantly got result over the last few season.

When they beat Easthouses 1-0 it could have easily been 10-2 to Houses (Selkirk missed a pen)!
They offer very little in attack but they got lucky with their only chance from open play resulting in a goal and they hung on and defended well so fair play to them.

Ed Uni and the Lily won't be the last teams to drop points against Selkirk

Anyway, let's leave that conversation there.

Somehow I don't think there's going to be a stampede of any Gretna fans to comply with a request from KingfaetheSooth laugh.gif
