Moving on from the pathetic antics from Hamilton on Saturday, to two teams that will at least try to play football.

I can see us losing this one 1-0 as we aren't playing great and St Mirren need to beat us at St Mirren Park sometime. I'd like to see Levein freshen up the team by giving Gomis/Conway/Flood a rest and giving Swanson and Buaben a chance.

i sure hope that big brute Wilkie isnt playing tongue.gif

yeah we're due one over United at Love Street and we are needing a win soon but i think it'll be a draw probably 0-0

hopefully Mason and Robb are back and he sticks with Dargo and Wyness up front cool.gif

Mind now Saints, don't try to stop them attacking at will or score against them or we'll all have to suffer Avril Levein and his cat's choir greeting next week as well.

Just wondering, do St. Mirren have any players aged 18? We'll need to know so as not to make the mistake of having a go at them for any diving/time-wasting/being a general fanny. Cheers.

Don't tell them know Saints fans or Levein will instruct Wilkie to give him a bloody good thrashing at every opportunity on and off the ball.

anyway saints team? everyone is fit i'd play

---------------Smith-----------------

---Ross----Potter--Cuthbert---Miranda--

---Brady--Dorman--Mason---Robb---

the front 2 will cause United's defence all sorts of problems

Dorman is due a goal wink.gif
Ric
We played quite well at Tannadice last time, giving the points away in the last minutes. We played a 3-5-2 on that day and while we were competent across the pitch, we never had a cutting edge. Saturday's game against the referee we played a 4-4-2 with Dargo and Wyness up front and they really clicked. Whether this will be a false dawn or a new era we will need to wait and see, but they were good.

The problem we have is with height. Potter, Haining (if he's fit) and Cuthbert aren't tall or heavy and we will need a bit of luck to avoid the Wilkie octopus affect.

With Levein crying like a teething baby about the draw at the 'ammies United will be fired up, but with all our home games being the last ones at Love Street I hope we go out to make a dent in what is a pretty poor record we have against the Arabs since returning to the SPL.

i just think Cuthbert is too good to be left on the bench and Haining should be dropped from the team before Potter.Think big John Paul is having a good season so far.

We will just have to play whoever is best in the air as Utd play a long ball game and will just be shelling our box anytime the get the ball.

We are due a win against Utd at LS and we are due a win in the league. So Utd will win 2-0. laugh.gif

United will win.
Hopefully, Dorman and McGinn out with Mason and Robb in.
Hopefully, The team will play like last sat with a cutting edge and put the ball in the back of the net more than once.
Shengus Khan
Hopefully Levein will change things this weekend and liven things up a bit. I'd quite like to see us try this fancy new 3-7-0 formation that some people are raving about. An 18 year old in the middle of the park would also be a smart move since they're supposed to be immune from heavy challenges.

1-0 United. Daly after 5 minutes.

I don't think it suits Potter being in an orthodox back 4. Most people would agree (i imagine) that his best game was at home to Rangers when he was in the middle of a back 3. FWIW I reckon Haining's a better defender (though he is indeed injury prone) but they've both made their fair share of mistakes this year.

In summary, play Cuthbert.

Yeah he doesnt have the pace and he is suited to play in the middle of a back 3.But he seems to have better positional sense than Haining.

Agreed, Cuthbert must play! Its hard to choose who to drop so i think Gus might even play all 3
Reynard
United are a physical side and they pose a huge threat at set pices so I wouldn't mind having Cuthbert in there to shore up the centre of defence. Potter can be a bit suspect with the high ball and if Utd send Dodds and Wilkie up constantly then that's a handful for any defence.

I think we can cope with Utd though and we are due a break against them fuxxake.

I think it might be harder than an "easy win".

After all while they have a Polish keeper, they don't have the incompetence of the officials to back them up.. wink.gif

It's the only way Celtic can beat teams, as has been shown against Hamilton and St.Mirren.

Hard one to call. Saints played very well against Celtic and our away form is rank rotten. We will be fired up which could count in our favour but I still can't see where the goals are going to come from. Still have a lot of confidence in the defence and Lucasz but they will need to concentrate on Saturday.

We should win but I am not confident at all and like most of our games this season, it could go either way.

It certainly could go either way. Too tight to call IMO. If we play like we did for an hour against celtic then we have a good chance of winning. I'm sticking my neck out and going for 3-1 Saints. God only knows why laugh.gif

Not very confident about this one. St Mirren played some good stuff at Tannadice last time (and for that reason I pray they pull away from that mob at the bottom) and our away form is poor. We had a post-Christmas dip last season, which probably ultimately cost us a UEFA Cup spot, and I hope we're not set to suffer a similar fate.

The team undoubtedly needs to be freshened up. Flood and particularly Conway look tired, so I'd bring in Bauben and Swanson. I thought Daly looked completely off the pace on Saturday but we don't have an able deputy to replace him (despite having about 33 strikers) so he'll probably keep his place. I wouldn't mind seeing Dods replaced by Kenneth as his distribution is dreadful, but it won't happen.

I'll try to remain positive and go for a 1-0 win for United (Sandaza, 61)

Dundee Unt is the best team I have seen outside the old firm this season so Saturdays game is another real tough test for Saints.

We must start picking up points now. Gus will give me hope if he starts with Wyness and Dargo leading from the front.

There is no such thing.

Should be a good game, I though St Mirren played well at Tannadice a few weeks back and had it not been for some suicidal defending in the last few minutes then they would have got a point. We are not on terribly good form, but in contrast to recent seasons we have still been picking up points.

As stated by many Arabs, our midfield looks tired- Swanson must be due a start. Also, either Feeney or O'Donovan has to replace Sandaza, especially if it is raining/windy/cold.

At least if St Mirren win then Hamilton will remain bottom.

Anyone know why Saints don't do student concessions?

Basically repeating what's already been said so I'll keep this brief. St Mirren have impressed me every time I've seen them this season and despite their lowly league position I think they're a decent side. You gave us a game at Tannadice and that was with the special circumstances around that game that is a worry. Hopefully you won't play 5 in the middle because we seriously struggle when teams pack the midfield and don't give us room to play (which is why do well against the OF). Can only see it being a tight game but I think we might sneak a point in a 1-1 draw.
Future-SM-Keeper-Ere
I'd like to see Wyness and Dargo start, and see if they can also do well against teams that aren't against the OF. I'd also like to see Mehmet supporting them, as he is the most hard working player we have, and is capable of scoring and creating.

Difficult game to predict, but I think Saints will dominate a home match yet again, and yet again we will lose after not taking our chances due to the first bit of pish defending we have (in the 80th minute). 1-0 or 2-0 to United.

Not really,it's water off a ducks back if the player has been getting heckled since he began playing first team football at the age of fifteen.Abusing players at such a young age helps them become ammune to the constant tirade of boos and makes them a better player for it. smile.gif
