Cowboy could you please provide the following information. In the 2005/2006 Championship winning season what was Cowden's record after 14 games ie, games won, lost, drawn and points? Also, which team was leading the Third Division after 14 games and what was their record at that point in the season? Hoping you can come up with the answer to this to give some idea of how we compare in the current season. Thanks for this.

At a guess it's probably not too far off what it is now... I recall Berwick making a very decent start similar to ours however, it was more of a late surge by Cowden that won it back then. 45 goals in the last 15 matches IIRC where they basically pumped everyone in sight.

Not the Cowboy but hope this is of use to you BN biggrin.gif

Cowden were 3rd after 14 games with a record of Pld 14 W 10 D 0 L 4 F 27 A 8 Pts 30

Berwick were top after being unbeaten after 14 games, winning the 1st 7, it was all down hill from that point however as they lost 4 on the trot and never regained top spot biggrin.gif
Their record was P 14 W 11 D 3 L 0 F 30 A 9 Pts 36

Stenny were 2nd and took over from Berwick soon after as leaders where they stayed until they bottled it in the April laugh.gif . At the time they had already lost to both Cowden and Berwick.
Their record was P 14 W 10 D 2 L 2 F 28 A 13 Pts 32

Going by that we a 5 points worse off than we were at this stage in 2005 but on the other hand we are 2 points closer to the league leaders that we were then.
NELLY
In our first 17 games we won 12 and lost 5 - Didnt draw any.

I remember i went along to that Stenny v Cowden game at Ochilview just as i was becoming an avid Shire fan as i thought it would be entertaining........ It was.

Your own manager has a particulary impressive record of managing to throw away massive leads and fail to gain promotion with overpaid premadonas biggrin.gif

Thanks for that Cowdenbeath, that's exactly the information I was looking for. It obviously gives us a lot of encouragement if we can achieve some measure of consistency in the next few games which are going to really tough against the likes of Dumbarton and Montrose.

Like all people, Shire fans have to work hard for their living, where as Coco Cramb and company train 2 nights a week and play for 90 mins (when that niggly hamstring/knee/broken fingernail isn't playing up) on a Saturday picking up a few hundred quid in the process. If you don't think that some players in the 3rd division are overpiad for what they do you must be raking it in.

That's half the point I'm making. He gets £200 + for doing virtually nothing, which means he, like a lot of 3rd div player are over paid, and he is the biggest premadona of all time.
