I feel dirty leaving out The Shawshank Redemption but One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest just edges it, likewise with The Wicker Man just ahead of The Shining. Apologies to Who Framed Roger Rabbit on the animation. I've cheated slightly as Blazing Saddles and The Big Game are comedies above all else but they count. The Big Game's only there because I've never watched a sport film and thought it wasn't shit.

Also left out The Big Lebowski, despite being pretty much on a par with Duck Soup in the stakes for my favourite film of all time. Couldn't squeeze into a genre aside from comedy; it would really be miscellaneous, which isn't a genre.

I went by IMDb for all the films I've actually picked, but I just laughed when they suggested The Big Lebowski was in the crime category. I put a lot of time into that list and I'm not having it devalued by IMDb being cack wizards and having a film in a genre that it clearly isn't.
