back to league buisness after what seems like an eternity, and three points crucial after being docked for the hawick game, the first half was unbelievable, with stirling creating chance after chance, hitting the bar ,post etc ,the students should have went in about 5 -o up at a conservative estimate.second half was a bit more even with ormiston coming more into the game without directly threatening the keeper.still the better chances fell to stirling, but the goal just would not come.with five minuetes to go a well worked move by stirling finally breached the ormiston defenceand justice was done in a game that really should have been put to bed in the first half.this in my opinion was like the stirling of the first weeks of the season great movement, and attacking football on a park that that with the grass cut[unlike the previous encounter]made for good football.after the dissapointments of the cup in previous weeks it was good to see the team get back on track and playing the football they are capable of.
Just had a deja-vu moment reading this post, as it describes a very similar game to Vale's meeting with Ormiston the week before. Ormiston are not going to find themselves at the business end of the first division table any time soon, but they're a stuffy side, get men behind the ball and defend well. A potential banana skin for any promotion challengers, especially on their own narrow pitch which can get pretty heavy toward the end of the season.
