I have a vague recollection of this cup game in the mid 90's in which Morton were 2-0 up only to end up drawing against Arbroath.

Anybody have any details?

We did draw 2 each with them in the 90's (can't recall the exact year) in the Scottish Cup, but I'm pretty certain we never came back from 2 nil down. I'd imagine it would have stayed in he memory if we had, particularly since I travelled up to the game with Morton supporting friends.

I do recall that Steve McCormick scored both our goals in the game I'm thinking of.
stuart.
I remember some wee guys started a fight in the Morton end that day.

That set Arbroath/Morton relations back hundreds of years.

Did Arbroath not beat Morton to set up their tie with Rangers during the Danny McGrain era?

Is this the game in question?

We beat them 3 nil at Gayfield that year ('93 I think) with Stuart Sorbie scoring a hat trick, although it was actually East Fife we beat (4-1 at the old Bayview after a draw at Gayfield) to get through to the QF against Rangers.

So, we were never 2-0 down - we actually led for a long time. From memory, the draw flattered Morton slightly.

We lost the replay 4-0. From memory, we had sacked yet another manager in the run-up to the replay & Peem Cant was acting manager for the night. I remember him sitting with his head in his hands (a la Ally McLeod in Argentina) after the 4th went in.
