According to the article he is only 32!!

Why did rankers get rid of him when he still clearly had a fair bit to give? He was always well thought of by the support I think.

Hope he makes a full recovery.

He was/is well liked at Ibrox. He fell out with McLeish(?) over playing for Australia at the Olympics. I cant remember the exact details but remember thinking it would have been better for every body to resolve it some way.

He seemed to get away with some hefty challenges as he always appeared so innocent and apologetic after halving somebody. biggrin.gif

Wish him a speedy recovery.

McLiesh told him his Rangers future was finished if he went to the Olimpics. He did so and got dropped then sold.

Hope he gets back to full fitness soon, I still remember that crunching FAIR challenge he got booked for on the byline at Ibrox against Larsson cool.gif

Best wishes to Craig.

He has bravely battled adversity throughout his career, being flogged to Crystal Palace and then reluctantly brought back when they defaulted on the fee.

More recently he was kicked out of Borussia MGB for alcoholism.

I hope this will stand him in good stead.

Best wishes to him.

I remember Craig during his first spell at Ibrox as an extremely uncomfortable right back. He was a target for the boo boys then, ironically probably the same ones who were getting on Huttons back.

When Advocaat arrived he told Moore that he would be played at centre half, but his mind was made up to leave. Their inabilty to pay the fee was their loss and our gain as he came back and perfomed admirably at centre half.

I remember the 4-1 game vs PSV at Ibrox were a certain Ruud Van Nistelrooy was comfortably marked out the game by Moore.

Good luck to him in his fight against this hateful, cowardly disease. I would imagine guys like Stubbs who have been through this before will be at hand to guide him through.

Why would being kicked out of a club for alchoholism "stand you in good stead" for testicular cancer????

By 'performed admirably', do you mean he absolutely wilted in the face of Sutton and Larsson and was reduced to playing the (relatively) straight man to Bertie Konterman's slapstick?

If so I think you are spot on. happy.gif

Well he successfully battled his alcoholism to the extent that he landed a contract with Newcastle United, albeit a contract proffered by Rangers-daft Graeme Sourness.

And after a further period of slapstick, Moore reportedly turned out for Australian outfit 'Queensland Roar' where he competed against the likes of the semi-retired Bobby Petta.

So he's been challenged by humiliation throughout his career - he's obviously a fighter.

Take it you will think it's fair game and only banter if the Motherwell fans come out with some dittys about Craigs illness tonight? After all you thought nothing of posting a sick song about a Footballer with a disability and claiming the abuse he receives is only banter.

You've made a c**t of yerself here, have ye know?? laugh.gif
Craig Moore won 6 League titles, 4 Scottish Cups and 4 League Cups wae the Gers - hardly humiliation! huh.gif Tell me if chief diver Sutton, one game wonder Petta or even every Celtic fans wet dream Larsson racked up the same collection for Celtic?? rolleyes.gif - Moore also put more Celtic players in pockets than Fagin picked!

Anyway, best wishes tae Moore and his family in what will be a very worrying time. I hope he gets better.

Well, if I did I would have said that, but why miss an opportunity to go off topic eh?

All he has to do is take a page out of the book of Lance Armstrong who proved you can do anything after treatment.

Sing about an ex-player if they like, that song was only banter to a boy who LIKE US is a Rangers fan, I know he never bothered about it, and I know Celtic fans have sung it to him at Celtic Park, as the lad has told us it directly.

So F*ck off ya c*nt and stop annoying me. You're the most tedious c*nt on the board, and if you died, there would just be a party on here. No one likes you, and you care.

I know a couple of guys who are recovering alchoholics. Alchoholism is treated as a disease and I'm sure anyone out there battling against it would not welcome the fact that you class it as a humiliation.

Try to choose your words with a touch more care in future. You may have meant well but it certainly didn't come accross that way.

Now now Khenny. P&B etiquette states that Plastic's interpretation, and ONLY his interpretation (well, along with Glasnost, Kevin and Smell the Ordure alongside him in the politburo) carries any weight.

The rest of us are toadys, Imperialist lickspittles and bigots.

Clearly your interpretation of the statement means that you have been tainted with hundom, and, as a result, have little or no credibility to the serious boys.

Having said all that, only Plastic could turn an initially decent post into a slightly contemptuous "damning with faint praise" attack on a man newly diagnosed with cancer because of the football team he once played for.

Craig Moore was a very successful and steadfast defender. He's also won an award that Larsson has never won, an award that Larsson has never even been considered for (presumably because it's so special); I am, of course, referring to the Gary Wilkins medal.

Good luck to Craig, I wish him a speedy recovery.

So what you are saying is Dean Shiels doesn't bother about Rangers fans singing about him only having one eye because he is a Rangers fan, the only reason he complained about it last week because he doesn't like St Mirren fans?

Also Dean Shiels told you personally that he heard that song being sang to him at Celtic park?

I would like it if you would be decent enough to confirm these questions as I am genuinely interested. Your last paragraph is silly, showing yourself up for the childish imbecile that you are.

Craig Moore won 6 League titles, 4

Did he really in 6 league titles? I thought at the start of his Scotland’s Shame FC career he was a bit part player who wouldn’t have fulfilled the criteria needed to pick up a winners medal.

Oh and the petty one-upsmanship on this thread is nauseating.

I think it was only four championship medals he won although i'm not sure of the amount of appearances required. Maybe someone else knows..
in 93/94 season he only made 1 league appearance - certainly not enough games...
season 95/96 he appeared 11 times . I might be wrong but i thought the criteria was 12 games.
