And just how do you make out that Davie Cooper was a bigot?
DAFC
He told MoJo that 'he didn't belong here'.

So he's a bigot for telling the truth? biggrin.gif

Anyway how could anyone put Davie Cooper on a list of bigots and fail to mention Neil Lennon?

The world has gone crazy!!!

Urban Myth Alert

What he actually said on being introduced to said new signing was "I will not play in the same team as that man"

Obviously, the reason for this comment was Johnston being a Roman Catholic, and Cooper being an old school dyed-in-the-wool bluenosed bigot....

Er no, actually, it was due to Johnston spitting on Cooper face on his way of the park after he (Johnston) had been sent off during a previous OF League Cup Final, an act for which Cooper never forgave Johnston.

Yes but this is a top 5 section, not a top 100 one. wink.gif

You can tell it's going to be a poor thread when the OP can't even find a top five that relate to his subject. I mean did anyone actually see Raphael Shiedt in Scotland never mind find out if he hated Protestants? And Graeme Souness makes the mans list despite the fact that he broke over 90 years of "tradition" at Ibrox and actually signed a Catholic in Maurice Johnston.

Cooper of course was a bigot....as you could easilly see by his pointed refusal to use his left foot for anything.... rolleyes.gif

Is Souness not married to a Catholic as well?
He certainly dislikes Celtic as you can hear on Skysports every champions league even on the odd occasion when the Hoops put in a good performance, He just can't say the words ''well done'' or similar praise.

Did Terry Butcher not get caught up in all the Secy shíte at Rangers when he first started, singing the party songs but then figured out he had no idea what he was singing about and he didn't agree with it all?

I read somewhere (NME possibly) years ago that on the England team bus a U2 song came on and Butcher jumped up screaming 'get that republcan s***e off right now' or words to that effect. Now you can perhaps disagree with his motives but you just can't find fault in his musical taste biggrin.gif

I take it the song was "Sunday Bloody Sunday" which U2 themselves have publicly stated is not a Rebel song and Alan Partridge has famously explained is about the boredom of that day when everything's shut.

I heard Terry say once that he wouldn't tell them at Rangers whether he was a Protestant or Catholic. Doesn't sound like a bigot to me. If he did sing the songs it was probably just because everyone else did. I know I sung lots of violent songs "Onward Christian Soldiers", "Fight the Good Fight", "Ding-dong Merrily on High" etc. when I was at Sunday School without ever thinking about their violent undertones.

Indeed a ridiculous thread. I wonder why it is still allowed to remain open. Answers to NBM by the end of the week.

For anyone to include Artur Boruc in this of course shows just how warped a country this really is.
MTJ
Surprised Ian Durrant hasn't been mentioned. A few people I know used to go into the Steps Bar now and then and said he was a right bluenose bigot. Up there in the Goram and Ferguson stakes.

Boruc isn't a bigot hes a just a w**k.

I've met Durrant on a few occasions and if supporting Rangers makes you a bigot then he's one of the biggest. True bluenose, yes. Bigot, no.

Yep, Durrant, Coisty and Derek Ferguson if I remember correctly. Drunken brawl in a kebab shop. Guilty as charged. Don't remember anything in the papers regarding any sort of bigotry being involved. rolleyes.gif

Cannot believe how long it took for his name to come up. He was the first one I thought of.
