The ghost of Jim Morton
There are one or two managers who's positions will come under pressure in the next month or so. Can you identify who will be next for the dreaded vote of confidence swiftly followed by their jotters. I'm going to plump for McIntyre who is begining to look a bit out of his depth.
Lambie's Pigeon Feed
Surely John Brown

Thats not the exact word I would use but it does accurately describe your manager. And I thought I was the only one wink.gif
Pride Of The Clyde
Unfortunately there is absolutely no way John Brown will get the HEAVE-HO.
Firstly it will cost us money we don't have to get shot of him and secondly, with the exception of one board member, they all go into hideing as soon as things start to go wrong, instead of trying to rectify the problem. Wait a minute that sounds exactly like JB on a Saturday, a match made in heaven.
I voted for Davie Irons as it won't be long until Mortons little purple patch is over and they resigned to finishing in 9th place and the fans turn on him again.

If you can back up that reply with some form of a constructive comment as to why McIntyre is 'out of his depth' and 'rubbish' then I might take you seriously. Until then, you are talking nonsense.

John Brown.......if the man has any decency in his soul!!! sad.gif

Bombscare Brown has got to go and take the other hopeless shite with him. Even if they do manage to get shot, methinks theres no chance we're going to be playing 1st division football next season.

Eh?

Brown staying benefits all of the division. Ya plamf.

I thought Irons would be soon for the tin tack given we're in the middle of a very difficult run of away games: Queens, Dunfermline and St Johnstone, with a fishy banana-skin in the cup too. I think we can do enough with our home games now to counter-balance that, even if we lose our next 3 aways, which is certainly not out of the question. After yesterday's results, it's clear to me that Brown is far more likely to be sacked than Irons in the near future. I for one will miss his bumbling incompetence.

WTF difference does it make to ANY team in the league if he gets the heave ho except Clyde?

Him staying makes points easier and the drop less likely for all 9 other teams.

To a certain extent perhaps, but TBH even if he goes, its highly unlikely with the squad we have AND the budget, that we could bring anyone in who could turn our fortunes around. The damage has been done over the last couple of seasons, and watching these performances each week just confirms to me that we are beyond saving. Being completely honest, I dont even think at our present form we could stand up to the 2nd division. Thats my opinion. I'd like to hope that im wrong.

As long as it won't cause financial catastrophe for Clyde, it has to be Brown.

The fact that has even been suggested just pushes this forums reputation as a community full of well informed supporters further into the mire.

Queens lose a few games and suddenly the mans job is on the line. Queens lose a few games and suddenly the fact he got them into EUROPE is just a distant memory. Fucking MTV generation in full force; IT IS NOT ALWAYS THE MANAGERS FAULT.

Oh yeah. I predict Irons, mainly because the afore-described philosophy is most prevalent throughout the ranks down Cappielow way.

Agreed.
Having said that to be fair to Kirky he`d have had Chis sacked the day we beat Livi 6-1 to go top. For all I know he might have been out the back of Hampden chanting Chis out immediately after the cup final.

That`s what I meant. You are at least consistent on the matter. I don`t agree with your view but as I say you are at least prepared to stick to it. I maintain that the evidence is that Chisholm has overall done a good job. You persistently don`t agree with that view. No problem with that. I`m still curious as to who you would have preferred as boss when Chisholm was appointed or for that matter who you`d rather we had now.

Still don't think he's the right man for the job and I don't know who applied when McCall left but there must have been better candidates but twice in a row whoever was the assistant manager stepped up.

There might or might not have been better applicants. Someone else might even have done better than Chisholm but it would have been a hell of a big ask to have done so.

But what has he actually done? He took us to the cup final which was fantastic but we had quite an easy draw in fairness and then the european experience was a result of this not a separate thing in which we went out in the first round due to his negative tactics. We'll never know if anyone could have done better but I'm sure there must be someone out there who could.

As I've said he took us into Europe because we were runners up in the cup final, he's not done anything apart from winning a few cup games.

FWIW I agree that Chisholm`s tactics showed too much repsect to the opposition in the UEFA tie. He`s not perfect. That being said it was indeed fantastic that he took us to the cup final for the only time in almost 90 years as a senior football club. Linlithgow apart I`m not sure the draw was all that straight forward with an awkward tie away to a decent 2nd division side (Peterhead), an away tie at Cappielow which despite our good record there wouldn`t be described by many as an easy tie. Granted Dundee were understrength when we played them but still hardly a walkover. Then a semi-final against a SPL team who had just got the better of Celtic over 2 cup ties.
I`m still intrigued who you would like to see in charge. I realise that like me you don`t know who previously applied but at least share your views with us with one or two examples who in your view would have done or would do better in the future. You surely must have an opinion on this. It`s an easy option to want Chisholm out but who would you want in?

I was laughing at him. How are you supposed to argue with that?

"He's only won a few cup games".

The man took you into Europe FFS! Queen of the South! Europe! laugh.gif

On that basis alone his job should be safe for the next two years. But realistically, one year down the line you will all start taking for granted your new found ability to play in the top three of the first division and ultimately, sack the guy.

What the f**k do you want? Chisolm is probably one of the best manager's in the 1st division, you should be greatful that your in the position you are. No disrespect but QOS are a small club compared to the top half 1st division side's, get a grip son.

Rowan Alexander is a shite manager, easy answer Brooks Mileson.

So he didn't win three successive promotions? Was that some sort of alternative reality that only I have been privy to? My Doctor tells me to watch out for these visions but I always just put it down to a lot of regurgitated hyperbole. Maybe he has a point.

He walks about wearing a kilt and looking like a Scottish-American "patriot". He may look like an idiot but that doesn't make it so. The man won titles. This is a results business, the man got results ergo the man was a "good" manager. Gretna fell by the wayside only after Alexander slipped away.

At one point in time even Alex Ferguson "nearly" got sacked.
