Heard that big Jim McLean resigned after the 6-0 crushing by Leith Athletic today. Let's hope that the Kelso committee can persuade Jim to re consider his decision as he is a very well respected and admired manager in the league.

Knew the big man had some health problems a few years back. Have they returned or has he lost the faith in the dressing room?

Were Leith good on Sat or Kelso just poor? Always get a hard game down there and can't remember them ever getting pumped 6-0 on their own patch!

think jim's just realised that he cant turn things round at kelso.they seem to be in a bit of a slump just now. like most teams after a succesful period if you cant sustain it you tend to have a few years in mid table before challenging again.

dont think we'll see mclean again . last team he had success was at coldstream and that was a few years ago.the modern game's changed and clubs tend to be run by player power now rather than managers . thats just aint whisky cheeks cup of tea

Gracey. Makes sense take one of the best managers in EOS and put him with one of the best run, most ambitious commitees in the borders and there is nothing that cant be achieved. Gracey had the footballing side up to scratch for the premier at Coldstream, but the commitee were still stuck in the first, they tried there hardest and were decent lads but just werent up to it. The boys at kelso are footballs guys and know exactly what they are talking about. Gracey has the respect of all the best footballers in the area and some of the most experienced guys. He would have no job assembling a team that would get Kelso in the premier. However it depends how keen the Kelso board would be to support a a side full of non kelso laddies cause without doubt most of them would be giving the hoy, Turnbull and Black maybe the exceptions. And i suppose would Gracey want to miss out on the competing in the Scottish.

Yeah would agree with you there, Colin is a quality manager and coach, when does he start?

There are loads of club in this division one that will get promotion long long be fore Kelso utd do.

Doesnt matter who manager is there is no way kelso can compete with bigger club in division. Only 2 can go up each season so if Gretna and stirling go up there is still craigroyston leith gala and the tynecastle. And clubs that get relegated may be cold stream or selkirk. And vale of leithan talked about as sleeping giant. Kelso not money ground or players for task.

A nother good point which make me wonder if collin gracy would look at this club. No way to bring in resources like you could with run in scottish cup (sign quality player, pay for them by winning a game or 2 in scottish cup). Alex jacks cup no help with this.

Strange decision that one. Good luck to the guy but hows he going to take the club forward?

How does Colin Gracey become a GREAT MANAGER in such a short time ? He has just had about a full season as a Manager in the EOS and that was with players that were brought to the club by mostly other people. He did well to just scrape promotion in the end, but didn't hang around for the main challenge. Then moved to the dream team that by all accounts has turned into a nightmare. IMO Colin seems to be a popular chap, but that does not make him a GREAT MANAGER, not yet. Come back in 10 to 15 years and have a look at his achievements.

Garry is an excellent coach but I'm not sure he is the leader type. Will be really interesting if he does have success and the Fairydean don't since he's a Gala lad.

COLIN IS NOT A GREAT MANAGER BY ANY MEANS BUT HE IS A GREAT COACH WHO I THINK WOULD WORK GREAT BESIDE A MORE EXPERIENCED MANAGER WHICH WE HOPED TO DO ONE DAY AT COLDSTREAM.ON THE TOPIC OF WHO SHOULD BE KELSO MANAGER I HEARD AT THE CLUB TONIGHT THAT OUR RECENTLY DEPARTED AMATUER MANAGER HAD BEEN APPROACHED.

You have an experienced manager and one of the best coaches around appreciate them and back them up ,don't slag them off in the press. EOS football teams should not rely on the playing side to generate the funds. If the committee gave the same time up as the players and used it productively instead of brain storming over a cup of tea you might be better of.

ha ha well said.club should be pulling together, instead its driving wedges between playing side and comitee which in the long run will be disastrous for coldstreamfc.players like to turn up train and play games and give up their time for nothing. A commitee is in place to run club and bring money into a club but taking players money is an easy option instead of going out and actively seeking finds. Coldstreamfc should maybe rethink their pay structure especially in the current financial climate. Some of the amounts I've heard players at coldstreamfc are on a year no wonder club is struggling

So has Gary Fraser taken over full time then? Reading the Berwickshire this morning Carl Hudson and Colin Gracey seem favourites to take over.
The Gadge
Kevin Hush and Gary Fraser are new joint managers

proffy and mr gracey!! built a team with 500 bucks that got promoted..nuff said, look at the big border teams who have been tryin to buy their back to the premier division without much success..ask any player what grace was like and you will get nothing but glowin reports about the mercurial mank..everything has to click together if your to be successful and a lot of that is down to management..must be about the only man u supporter who,s actually from manchester too... cowboy.gif

Gracie was a great coach when i was at Coldstream. Training was enjoyable as well as a good work out. Never played for him as a manager, but is one of the best coaches i've had.

Colin is a fantastic coach and a great bloke, maybe not management material but no doubt him and big Hudson would make a great management team. What Colin done at Coldstream was excellent...got a team that wasn't full of talent playing together as a unit, and ultimately got Coldstream into the Premier. The sooner he returns to EOS in some capacity the better.

If Gary has the Kelso job good luck to him, everyone has to start somewhere and this will give him the opportunity to cut his teeth at EOS level.
