QP v St Johnstone, Lesser Hampden, ko 13:30.

This game will be a big test for our players as we don't have an U19 team this season. The side will be the U17s plus a couple of lads that are slightly too old for that age group. The 17s are running away with their league having scored 65 goals in just 11 games but QP are going well in the 19s league.

We're away to Inverurie Loco's.

Our lads are going very well in the league this season

Livingston 2-1 Dundee, a more comfortable win than the scoreline suggests. Smith and Halliday for Livi.

3-2 to the Queen's in a decent game (what I saw of it anyway).

Got there around the half hour mark and Saints had just equalised Ian Watt's goal for QP, scored around the 20 minute mark. Michael Morris put Queen's back in the lead early in the second half, and with 20 minutes to go Gary Smith headed home a free kick from the left to put Queen's 3-1 up. A few minutes later good play from one of the Saints players saw him beat a couple of defenders before firing home, but Saints never really put any concerted pressure on the Queen's goal in the closing stages and the Hampden boys saw out time quite comfortably.

Only downside to the game was an ambulance being called for the Saints No6 just before half time after a head knock left him concussed, but he returned just after the full time whistle and thankfully seemed to be ok.

If most of the Saints boys were Under 17's then they weren't disgraced by any means, our 19's have been going well recently, although a poor first four or five games have scuppered any chance we have of winning the Under 19's league.

Rangers bet Brora Rangers 6-0 at Ibrox.

Could have been alot more if it wasn't for Brora's keeper Steven Hyslop being Man of the Match.

Not a bad score considering Clach 15s beat a Brora 17s/19s select 2-1 a couple of weeks back tongue.gif

Hamilton Accies beat Clach 5-0 today also.

A number of the Brora 19s play with Tain Thistle also. We played a pre season game with them and won 4-1, so knowing that Rangers could only score 2 more, I feel quite pleased! biggrin.gif

Are they?

I presume you know what you're talking about but there was an u17 table on our site last week (not the official site right enough) that showed us top of it, a point clear of St Johnstone, albeit Saints had a game in hand. I don't know where it came from but the guy who posted it is reliable enough (and an occasional poster on here) with links to the youth set up at Palmerston.

Anyway, back on topic, our u17's, including three 15 year olds apparently, lost 7-0 to Hearts at Tynecastle. The average age of the Hearts team was two years older than ours as we don't have an u19 team this season either.

SFL Website has Saints top of the 17's league with one defeat, QoS eight points behind. Not sure how up to date it is, but it's usually updated every week.

Fair enough, the one on our site last week was obviously out of date, although instead of Saints having a game in hand we do now so the gap isn't quite as big ar Radford maybe implies. It's a nominal five points with a head to head to come this weekend I think.

EDIT - Thanks for the link by the way. Didn't know youth tables were available on that site. I should have looked there first!

Oldest lad would be Chris Dodd, who is 18 in February. Rest of side would be 16 or in the case of guys like the centre back Durnan, just 15-years-old. There was a bit in our programme about him Saturday past as we've just signed him from Clyde but he's already 6'3"!

Coach Paul Sheerin said the lads would be quite disappointed with their performance: "We're disappointed because we never really got going the way I know we can, we only played in fits and starts. We matched them physically but we didn’t pass the ball enough and just didn’t play to our full potential and I think the boys will be disappointed with themselves."

Rovers beat Inverurie 6-0. We usually have match reports on our official site but it isn't up yet. From what I've heard though 6-0 flattered them and it should have been double figures.

Here is the match report in case anyone is interested.
