Pars were fairly rank today l thought, we were on top the first half but 2nd half was the same as it was last week against St Johnstone. Bayne and Kirk just aint working together anymore, were badly needing another striker.
We desperately need to bring in another striker and a midfielder who can last ninety minutes.
Worst performance of the season today.

dundee started the game well, forced a few corners. couldve scored when deasley pulled the ball back but woods got in the road of the shot.
after that it was mostly dunfermline, hit the bar and maybe the post(??) with dundee offering little.
2nd half was one way traffic until muirhead gave the ball away in the dundee half, pass to curier who was one on one and slotted home after nearly falling over his own feet in the excitement!
after t hat, the pars were never gonna score. ran out of ideas. indeed dundee couldve scored on the counter.
bad performance today, the worst of it was dundee weren't even that good. no sour grapes just fact. at least the saints won the game with a bit of flair & two good goals. they deserved it because they had to work hard for it.

You don't exactly have any fan base to talk about pal, just because you took a number of fans to EEP the other week doesn't mean suddenly you can start bragging about your fan base.

Dundee started brightly and had a very good chance in the opening minutes but Dunfermline took control of the first half and had a few long range efforts and hit the woodwork twice. In the second half we still weren't great but we had a chance and took it and we should have extended our lead in the dying minutes just glad to get the three points.
Who needs Harry? We've got Jocky.

EDIT: There was about 600 Dundee fans at East End Park today.

i'd say around 500 dee fans. sang throughout the game fair play to them, including one chorus of "we're gonna win the league"
on the last 2 games theres no doubt in my mind that st johnstone are gonna win the league, but dundee will climb the table maybe finishing top 4 with us & queens.
dont think you've quite turned the corner yet, but stopped the rot at least. not much guile to break teams down, the goal today was a result of us pushing men forward and getting hit on the counter. better teams than us will beat you easily IMO.
hardly any boos for scott. couldnt even muster a fart in his direction. couldnt care now even though i hated him when he was with us.

pish poor game and our squad looks dead on it's feet. There is no one pushing the strikers for a game and they've been off the boil for a wee while now. midfield again failed to fill the gaps and as a result we couldn't turn possession into pressure. every high ball was cleared and then picked up by a man in blue with us standing around looking at it. not great with four games in two weeks obviously taking it's toll.
**sigh**
This league just makes no sense.

Dundee had the better of the opening exchanges and forced a few corners inside the first 10 minutes and should have taken the lead, but Dunfermline slowly got back in.
However, apart from hitting the bar and post, the Pars offered very little by way of a goal threat. Their tactics seemed to be either hit from distance or cross and hope.
Our goal was pretty decent; Deasley timed the pass to perfection and it was a simple task for Antione-Curier to slot the ball home. We should have clinched it in the umpteenth minute of injury time, but a similar 1-on-1 yielded a different result (although we did have a few cracks at it once Davidson turned up to help!).
All-in-all delighted to get the 3 points today

Having missed the kick-off, I got in just in time to see Dunfermline beginning to control the game. But from what I've heard we had looked bright in the first few minutes, winning a few corners and I think Deasley had a good chance.
But from then on it was mostly one way traffic, with Dunfermline dominating, hitting the bar and then the post. But other than that Rab didn't really have to make a save, and the defence was looking sturdy. We didn't offer much of a threat in the first half, and seemed unable to play the ball on the deck, and as a result weren't gaining any sort of hold on the midfield.
Reasonably content to go in 0-0 at the break. The second half continued in much the same vein, but again Rab only had one save of note to make, getting down well to a low drive from the edge of the box. Straight after that, Deasley got the ball at the half-way line, and played in Curier who had the simple task of slotting past the keeper, though he did his best to get the ball stuck under his own feet.
After that Dunfermline ran out of ideas, and we got more and more into the game, as the play became stretched. Other than a shot which flew wide after Benedictus had been caught out, I don't think they managed another real chance. We should really have got another when Mac had an identical opportunity to the one he scored, but opted this time to go round the keeper, and went too far wide, before scuffing his cut-back to Davidson.
The game was much the same as the two games at East-End Park last season. However, there were notable differences from our recent performances this season. As anticipated, we were much more organised, particularly at the back, with Benedictus and McKeown forming a decent partnership. Williams and Pozniak grew more assured as the game went on, and Deasley and Mac combined well for the goal. The fans I thought were great today, and rarely stopped singing.
Despite being pegged back for much of the game, Dunfermline did not create many clear-cut chances, though then again neither did we. But it's points that count, and at last we stopped the rut, and seem to be on the way to a bit of stability. Was very happy going home tonight.

Very well, last week I thought he was out of his depth and nowhere near ready for the first team but today he was exceptional. I think we have a real player here and if he continues with this form he can be a big player for us. Just one big mistake today and Dunfermline could have equalised from it but they didn't - Kyle won't be a first team regular but he will be someone that can be called on when required. A few years down the line he will be a big player for us and we'll probably have to sell him without getting robbed this time.

how did kyle benidictus get on today?
He was very good at the back.
He had one slip during the first half, but that happens to even the very best players.
By all accounts, we were not particularly impressive today but, who cares? We need to put things into perspective - Our central midfield consisted of Darren Williams, a defender, and Chris Pozniak, a very defensive minded player. With respect, these two players would severely struggle to claim a place in the team with a full sqaud to chose from. In saying that, they have been fantastic, perhaps not in a footballing sense, but of determination, eagerness, attitude, and professionalism. The team is fighting for one another and while it may not be pretty at the moment, we have come away from arguably the best footballing side in the league with three points.
Couple that with a 16 yeard old playing at the back. He has phenominal potential but he arguably wouldn't even be in the squad if we had a full squad. Young Bryan Deasley set up the goal today and his partnership with Curier is proving to be a decent one.
I couldn't care what the football looks like, as long as we're picking up points. Great result today, and hopefully we can gather a bit of momentum going into the festive period, where we should expect a few first team players returning from injury.
I think the team deserve a lot of credit today, for what was essentially a make-shift team.

Absolute nonsense. The Dunfermline Board will certainly not be sacking McIntyre this season unless something goes drastically wrong. We have the best defensive record in the league so far, which is a complete turnaround from last season considering we were beaten 5-0 by Hamilton, 4-0 by Livi and 3-0 by part-time Stirling Albion at one point under Kenny. We also have a positive goal difference, something which a Dunfermline team has not had in about 5 years. We look like a team and the players are now fighting for each other. McIntyre has done a tremendous job so far, the only thing he needs to rectify is our strength in depth as we lack someone that can come on and change a game.
Dundee certainly weren't shite, however they weren't very good either. We dominated them until they scored apart from a little flurry in the first few minutes, with us hitting the bar and post in the process. However once they had their goal we looked clueless and as I said we lacked someone that could come on and change it for us. Credit to Dundee though as they managed to score and we didn't, and that is what mattered at the end of the day. It wasn't the best performance from us but I thought we did enough to at least deserve a point from the game.
If we can make it to the Januray window not too far off the pace at the top then I can see us doing enough to at least finish in the top four. This season is probably a bit too early for a title challenge, however this will be a good season for McIntyre to improve as a manager and build for the future. Unless he has us flirting with relegation, then his job is safe.
Didn't think there was much in the game, Dunfermline had a bit more of the play as you expect at home but not much between them in terms of chances - Dundee took one of theirs and Dunfermline didn't. Rab Douglas's second half save down at his left hand post is worthy of mention, it looked a goal all the way.
