How's the weather looking around the Borders and Edinburgh? Any games in doubt this weekend?
dougalldogg
Quite wet in Eyemouth Mark, not raining at the moment but very wet, not much wind though which is a good sign.

Very wet at the moment cant see any football being played in Eyemouth this weekend and change of fixture for united is almost a no go after last saturdays decision to call the game off, cant remember what the fixture was for ammies. No pies again this week.

Surely the wind will help dry the park out so the game has a better chance of going ahead?

They should have looked to switching the fixture to meadowbank and then Played at Peebles later in the season when the weather will be more favourable.

Peebles scared of another heavy defeat tongue.gif

Yep, that must be it.......... I told a lie, the pitch is actually like a bowling green down at the Gytes but were just scared of a heavy defeat so thats why it might be cancelled.

If the game is on 2moro, bring ur Wellies down the morn City Fan!!!!!!!!

join the que heedthebaa! ragin about this decision! a bit of water on about 3 parts of the pitch that could have easily been forked or brushed off..........whats that all about?!?!? we've not had a game in 3 weeks, its just not good enough as far as i'm concerned! game could have 100% gone ahead 2day, the pitch was in no danger to the players.....maybes its just my frustration in not havin a game for weeks..but pretty sure there were plenty people there watchin the ammies the day that would agree with me! would be nice 2 have a game before christmas comes about eh

Don't know what the weather is like around the borders, but at Kelso the pitch was very good and hats off to thr ground staff for having it in such excellent condition.

Chance for me to drop in here with an interesting (or depressing...) stat: today's postponements took the total for the season from 46 to 51. With exactly 1/3 of the season played (14 out of 42 scheduled weekends)... As far as I'm aware, that breaks all recent records, if not 'modern times'.

agree with you there spiero, didnt seem much wrong with pitch at all, we played on the pitch opposite and there was nothing wrong with the pitch at all no puddles nothing, and considering your pitch is better looked after its a bit strange to call your game of. Could it be anything to do with the fact you havent gt a sufficient keeper in place yet? Or do you?

Well according to the Berwickshire News, Scott Dowie has signed on so it must of been to do with the pitch. Can't see why it couldn't go ahead, they were brushing water of the pitch at Meadowbank when we played Edinburgh City so why couldn't we do the same?

It really didnt even look like water needed brushed of to me, fair enough I didnt go on the pitch but from the side it looked good enough to me.....
