Doris was only allowed to go to Montrose for a month as McInnes wanted him to step up to the Second Division level after that and it'll be tough for him at Arbroath you'd imagine. He really needs this experience though and hopefully it can benefit him in the same way it has Moon and Jackson. It's three years since Doris made his debut but injuries have really restricted his chances at times and he hasn't played for Saints since July 2007.

Seems a good bit of business with Greg Kelly. He'd been Montrose's number one up until now and with still training regularly with Saints and playing for us pre-season, the players already know him. I thought he looked confident in his brief appearances in the friendlies. Taking him for three months suggests there could be something longer term (next season) on the cards IMO.

Greg Kelly has played brilliantly for us. Hope he does a job for you guys. Great and corners and saved a pen in his first game that gave us the three points!

Good luck to him.

Em, he'll be sitting on the bench!

Im mystified as to why a player who is playing regularly and by all accounts playing well for a league team would give it up for 3 months to sit on the bench at another club, even if they were a couple of divisions higher.

If its a 3 month contract, he is due to return just after the transfer window closes to Montrose where someone else will be the established keeper. Kelly wont have been playing regularly and will presumably be in no position to claim the spot back straight away.

If we were going to sign him, why didnt we just him on loan until the end of December then sign him in the window?

Strange one IMHO. There must surely be more to this than meets the eye.

dont think saints will need 3 keepers whn mclean is back

however main could be carrying an injury and may need an operation sad.gif , just a thought

Neither do I.

Could be right about Main but will Kelly be sitting on the bench whilst a fit again McLean plays? If hes happy to do that id be surprised.

It'll be interesting to see what develops.
