Dont know what he is like but that MacGowan from Clyde was brilliant so he could be a good signing , is MacGowan still available for Saturday.

He doesn't have nearly as much experience at the same level as McGowan. He's made a few sub appearances for Saints but most were in 2005/06. He spent most of last season on loan with Montrose and was back there for a month this season but McInnes wanted him to step up a level. The Montrose fans seemed to like him.
The loan system has been quite successful for us in recent years with Kevin Moon and Andy Jackson now both firmly part of the first team squad after loans at Forfar (Moon, Jackson) and Cowdenbeath (Jackson).

I think that Saturday may be his last game for us, although I'm not absolutely certain. He'll be missed, as he's looked quite impressive.

Doris is a great player. He'll do a job for you, unfortunately!
Doris will provide energy in whatever position he is played in and will chip in with a few goals.

We will need more than a few at this rate

In saying that if Doris scored a hat trick v Ayr we would have got a draw!

he can play in a variety of positions, is quick, is good at holding and good in the air for his height
good signing. i was hoping we could take him back at some point but this is less likely now

Too good for you lads!
Seriously though, as the rest of the Montrose fans have stated he will do a great job for you.
Hope it works out for the lad.

This is tip-top news.
If Montrose fans rate him I'm happy.
RE: McGowan. It is reported in the Herald this morning that he has two more games left on his loan deal but we are looking to extend that.
If we get him, Scott, Doris and Gates fit and working well together I think we'll have a pretty talented and quick front line.

I thought so. Can't understand why. I'd suggest it's in poor taste unless there's a heluva good reason.

smokiejoe's already had a topic in his name, announcing that he'd died overseas. Seems he's come back to life.
That MarcVivien Foe picture is much more offensive than the one that Bloobell had deleted.

This was a smart piece of business. A month loan and he's missed the first two weeks due to illness and injury.
John McGlashan's interview today said the injury list was much reduced so maybe they needed more backroom work

Loan extended for another month. How is Bobby Barr Steven Doris getting on? He's missed a few games because of injury has he not? What position has he played?

Playing very well - missed a game or two due to flu or the likes i think.
Playing in a right wing back roll usually, but has been pushed forward on occasions.
He's been an effective wee lad, the times i've seen him

Playing really well,i think we have won every game Doris has played. He missed his first game of the loan deal due to flu and wasn't allowed by St Johnstone to play against East Fife in the Scottish cup.

Hmmmm Why don't the super Sainties let us have Doris for the next season and a half? You won't use him in the SPL after all
He is a good addition to Arbroaths' squad and yer no gettin' him back!

When I've seen him, Doris has been excellent for us! We'll be a poorer team when he eventually goes back to the Saints.
