Alright Folks

I would just like to pass on my regards to all the players management and supporters of all the clubs in the EOS league.....after my short spell north of the border with the streamers I have decided to call it a day as things havent worked out as i planned......in the time i have been playing i have made some great friends, "even WJR at Spartans" wink.gif wink.gif and played in some fantastic games.......the league is a credit to scottish football and shouldnt be knocked by anyone who hasnt played in it..... the way things are going for it with season long fixtures , up to date scorers and results things are on the up for the EOS and i hope i can get to a few games in the future......

I would like to wish the management and committee of the Streamers every success as they have been nothing but fantastic crack to me in my time there especially Alan Wilson, Alan Phipps and Alan Easton. Capo is a genuine bloke who is football through and through and he only wants the best its a pity there wasnt a few more like that about at clubs......and finally to those barmy supporters who travel to the games and have such a laugh what ever the result.....i hope to catch up for a pint soon

Who you going to play for STOBSWOOD, or are you hanging up the boots?

mike hock
I and many other streamers fans are not happy about this gibbo, can't believe he has had u on the bench with his powderpuff attack misfiring every week.from wat i hear a few players are upset at his constant changes 2 the team and his constant selection of his son and a couple other sub standard players in favour of class acts like bolty aggy and the lad inglis, mcnulty must go!!
STOBSWOOD09
Danny mate i dont know what im gonna do at present.....i cant do anything until stuff is sorted out.....i would like to keep playing as i feel i still have alot to offer younger players and a decent team

Mike thanks for the kind words you for one have always been blunt and honest in your reports and comments regarding the streamers...but Peter is there to do a job and everyone must get behind him to support him......there has been no ill feeling between me and the club as ive stated theyve been brilliant with me...

Gibbo
mike hock
We all understand peter has a job 2 do gibbo, but we just see it as his team selection seems 2 be influenced by other things as i don't think he has put the same team out 2 weeks running and i'd understand if it was down 2 injurys but some players seem 2 have a gd game then find themselves on the bench for no reason the nxt week, staggering!would u have ambitions of managing the streamers one day?
WJR
Sorry to hear that Gibbo, every team and league needs characters and you've got that in spades. Also sorry I didn't get to see you play more often but from our last trip down to Coldstream it sounds like you were at least as a good a referee as Willie Bennett!

All the best in whatever you do, you'll always be welcome at Ainslie Park. I owe you a pint I believe

Cheers mate.

Stevie, sorry to hear you have left the Streamers. Guys like you do not come along often, your enthusiasm and your genuine feeling for the club will be sorely missed. Thanks for the massive travel commitment you made, and thanks for getting us Mattie Travers, who is a real gem. Hope you are back playing, because that is all you ever wanted, your dignity whilst being on the bench at the Streamers should be taken on board by one of the existing squad.

Best of luck mate, you will always be welcome at Home Park.

Yeah, Heard of that name and of his potential. Heard he is keen to further his career and progress up the ladder, unfortunalty he is being denied that oppurtunity by his current club. Hopefully he'l be allowed the chance to move on shortly aswell.

On the contrary, Mattie has been given the chance to progress his career, he is currently playing every week, and has accepted the opportunity, probably one of the best prospects we have had in recent years.
I am assuming you are Heriot Watt person, who thinks the minute a player goes to University, he should immediately drop the club who first introduced him to the EOS league, and make it easy for the University selectors. Mattie is a loyal player and will decide himself when the time to move is right.

to be fair you never hit the form you promised when you signed always talked a good game never played one. wont be a big miss to the streamers.

so general what do u think of things at coldstream just now? looks like you'll be fighting it out with selkirk again to stay up.think peters put all his eggs in one basket and pissing off a lot of players who wont be easily replaced! mad.gif

i remember the bad old days at coldstream and it'll be a shame if it ends back that way!remember peter was manager when coldstream beat his kelso 9-1 at home park. laugh.gif
he wouldn't jack in then and had to be pushed out. nah i think the coldstream board might just relieve him of his duties in order to stay up.and send that andy simpson away to f**k.he's only known for hanging out jim mclean's arse anyway!!!!!!!!

On the note of Mattie i agree with Wullie hes gonna go further but just let him get on with his game at Coldstream and in time he will benefit.....and maybe move to bigger things......lets not forget he only came from Rothbury village team 2 years ago when i brought him to Amble then the streamers.....so hes moved leaps and bounds since then........if only we could get some crack out of him rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

things are not good at the minute seb. last week was a bad defeat in a game we could have won. we should at least have taken a point.

our league games against selkirk will be very important. we'll just need to see where we are in the table by the time those games come round.

The atmosphere is gone. simple as. most of the jokers like the cowes, gippa, lambert, baxi have gone and havent been replaced by characters of any note.

I am sure the club will survive, the former players should just move on. They will be a distant memory come the end of the season. Any one remember last year's squad at any East of Scotlnad clubs? yeah i think you are right, coldstream have been in this position before blowing big money to stay in the premier and getting no rewards. you have to have sypmpathy for the board though, on one hand they want to recruit whichever players the manger wants to show their support for them which means dishing out silly money but on the other they are responsible for the club finances so there comes a point when you have to put your foot down and say its not worth it buying mercenaries for big money

thats right fish, hell of a lot of big name characters have left the club in a short space of time and not really been replaced..well davy brown still there and agg ,bolty and big craig lumsden..think they,ve still got a lot of good players at the club but just haven,t clicked yet..the team that won promotion cost 500 bucks in total, amazin by todays standards..that team could go anywhere and grind a result when needed but could play as well, just unfortunate that dalbeattie were a exceptional team that year or would have walked the league...

all due respect to the players you mentioned fish yes they were characters but have been replaced by far better players which to me is more important,i think you only have to look at where most these players went to realise just what kind of "characters" they are.whilst at the game ysday i saw the boy lambert there and if thats what you get playing for a shower of idiots in a pub league then why anybody in there right mind would go there is beyond me,maybe these lads were sold the "dream" which was berwick town or maybe the rumours that most were bullied into it is true?either way i,d like to wish lee a speedy recovery and who knows next time i see him at home park it could be back on the pitch...

look at the facts. this group of "far better players" are in the same position the boys who would give their all for eachother are. these characters took pride in a win and losses very personally. it would ruin their night if they got beat. home park was a hard place to come in those days. teams like heriot watt, whitehill struggled when they visited in the cups.
If its beyond you, then lets look at the facts.
Shower of Idiots? Lambert, Baxi, Aaron Punton, Jamie Punton, Jordan and Keiran Ainslie, Alan Jess, Sean Simpson, i'm not too familiar with the others but i know that group of names would all get in the coldstream team based on the current footballing ability of the players. Gracey, Gippa and Hudson, these "idiots" masterminded Coldstreams promotion to the premier so i would play for them anyday.
Sold the dream? it was a good idea. take the most talented group of players in the area who are also best friends off the pitch, take gracey, hudson, gippa who have wealth of experience and mangerial ability and start a new club with the idea of making it into the semi-pro leagues in england where the system is fair and if you are good enough you can make go as high as you want. im sorry to say but your the idiot working you arse of for coldstream when it doesn even matter if you come top of the premier, you wont get rewarded with a place in the sfl.
Bullied into joining? i assume you're trying to say Gippa forced them into it? well that is not true, i know for sure noone was bullied into it. Gippa would never put any pressure on the young lads to join, he would have fully understood if they wanted to go try EOS premier and would not have stopped them. the lads were all gathered in the harrow, told what the crack was, then left to make up their own minds.

Anyway lets be fair mike, you have had it in for Berwick Town from the start, you have had nothing but negative posts on here about them. Now i dont know if you are bitter cause you werent considered good enough to be asked to join or what and im sure the latest going ons have made you smile, but there is no doubt the berwick town side that won the cramond cup, would take 5+ goals of coldstream without reply

when i said idiots and refered to being bullied into it i never meant colin carl or gippa i was refering to the idiots who run the "club" as i understand it i,m sure it was the chairman or treasurer?that decided to play pool with one of the players faces, could you see that happening at any eos club fish,i doubt it.i think you summed it up when you say it WAS a good idea, maybe not now eh?i remember a few years back when jim mclean was in charge at coldstream and had the chance of signing a few players from berwick and his attitude was 2 or 3 berwickers in one team was enough anymore meant trouble so maybe for once i agree with the bearded one on that.now as for all those players getting into the coldstream team only lambo and punton would as for kieran "every tackle must be 2 footed and i must go to ground" ainslie he would get severly found out in the premier and if he ever does have the balls to try it i just hope its not at home park.one last thing about me being bitter about not getting asked to play for them well fish maybe about 10 years i would have been but hey i,m only nearing 50 so could probably still do a job in that league.

not too long ago and assistant manager at a certain EOS club got one of his players beaten up so yes i can see it happening at a EOS club.

Yeah in hindsight maybe it wasn't, and i did have my doubts that it would work like most people but i wasnt negative about the whole thing, fair play to them for having the ambition to try and give Berwick a decent football club.

And as for 2 or 3 berwickers in any squad? yeah maybe that why his team got beat 6-0 yesterday.

All this anti berwick stuff is stupid. Why should Coldstream try compete with Kelso, Eyemouth, Vale, Gala, Peebles, Hawick, and whoever else for the best players in the borders when they can have a free run of north nothumberland. Dont forget Berwickers played a massive part in getting Coldstream promoted so if you were a coldstream fan you would be grateful
roary!
mike hogg=slaver!keiran ainslie is 19 and a very gd defender playd for coldstream at 15 when loand owt from berwick rangers 17s,every tackle 2 footd aint true barely tckles wi 2 foot just put his all into the game u nver get less than 110%!games against the premier teams in cups preston cums t mind playd with him tht day and we deserved a win penalty mist to take 2-0 lead jus b4 half tym!peebles 1-1 up there last home game of season won comfortably 3-1!

1-1...lothian 1-1 herriot watt bt 2-1 preston won friendly 3-1 and got beat in cup on shielfield under lights 2 or 3-1 results v premier teams wi kieran at cb so he must be doing sumthing ryt,but supose little mike hock u will be ryt!

i can see both points of view of mick hock and fish. i agree every club needs to move on. i personally loved playing for coldstream .the crack was great in the dressing room and the team achieved a lot.getting promoted eventually and having a great squad that helped attract other players to the club.

think peter done a great job keeping the streamers up last season.but this season it looks arse over tit.lot of his signings have none or very little experience of east of scotland football let alone premier east of scotland.

my concern for coldstream is that they end up relagated and losing all these 'new' players back to the border amateur or where ever they were signed from.

i hear the messiah is looking for a 2nd coming!!! ...........here's to waiting

times move on and clubs always stay in place just the faces change, both points are understandable..but will say that the 2 and a half years with all the berwick boys mixed with some of the best local talent at coldstream was the best footballing experience i,ve ever had..sadly it seemed to end to quick but credit to the berwickers some of the best i,ve played with in terms of ability and crack..they have got a destructive element but that comes from deep down stil knowing their jocks at heart thumbup2.gif ...think coldstream have got a fight on their hands this season to stay up,but if they take a look at things realise just how shit peebles and selkirk are and go out play with their heads and beatr selkirk twice, that should be enough to stay up..heres to hoping...

Who cares, I would say thats a disadvantage for the Kelso team cause 'the Berwick Chavs' have no loyalty at all, look at what happened at Coldstream, once one gets sick and leaves the rest follow.
