Excluding our players, I thought Gunn from the codheids was excellent against us as was the 10 outfield Brechin players

There seems to be a misconception that Stevenson is a star player when he's been absolute jobby most of the time this season!

Good to see your inclusion of Prunty though. He's been a real find especially considering the Airdire fans were hardly losing any sleep over his loss.

He must be good then as Wilson is probably our best right back since Stevie Mcanespie.

I can't agree. I've seen every team this year minus Brechin, and Wils is by far and away the best right back in this division.

Surely if it's team of the year i.e calander year 2008 then the Ross County team that won the league must be favourites.

I'd nominate David Crawford and Damiano Agostini from Queens. In their respective positions, they're certainly as good as anyone else in the league.

Especially if you are being pedantic and purposely neglect to see what the OP probably meant.

I have yet to see anyone nominate Gary Wales. Is it just me or did we not start scoring and winnings games when we signed Wales. He is the type of player that gets the best out of others round about him.

It's a good shout, but he's not had enough games yet. If he carries on as he has started then he will probably be a candidate for team of the year.

From ourselves i'd nominate Weir, Smith and Wilson.

From other teams, probably Nelson and Byers of Brechin, as well as Gunn of Peterhead.

No one else has really stood out.

That's just a long series of really shite right-backs.

Looking at the recent game, for example, Dempsie was significantly better than Wilson and that wasn't even one of his better games.

edit: sorry Weir? as in Graeme Weir? I know it's all about opinions but he's not even in the top ten of the division!

To enter the Wilson debate I haven't seen enough of Dempsie to comment on him so I can only say that Wilson has been outstanding. I was never really convinced by him (ridiculous considering he's been our POTY for the last 2 seasons) but he's definititely convinced me this season.

Weir has been fantastic but to get a place in a team of the season (even so far) as a striker he would need to have scored more and you couldn't really put him ahead of McManus or Prunty.

And you base that on?

Weir is my POTS so far at Starks

no one yet has said walker for us yet, i think he has been a quality signing thats added alot of creativity to the midfeild

Maybe because Bobby Linn is so wee people tend to overlook him. Fantastic player and would be first name on my team sheet every week.
Completely turned the game when he came on against Rovers at Starks.

Am I the only one who thinks that Bobby Linn bears a striking resemblance to a Raith Fan who posts on here?

I dont know enough about Dempsie to compare but Wilson is fantastic so I'll conclude that Dempsie must be some player for folk to think he's better than Wilson. Graham Weir is fast becoming one of my favourite Raith players too, he's had a great season so far.

It wasn't Wilson's best either. Arbroath away Wilson played a blinder although that was in midfield. He is an excellent right back, always bombing up the wing and taking on defenders, making up for the pace but lacking the precision of Robert Sloan.


Steady now. Weiry has been good but i still think our best players so far have been Ellis and Campbell.

Cliche has a point, being the best right-back since McAnespie isn't too much of an accolade.

Nonetheless, Wilson is one of the outstanding players of the division, and has been for the past couple of years. He's Raith's only automatic pick for any such select side, the rest are negotiable.

The one game Weiry didnt start, was our worst performance in ages.
