I honestly have no idea where to start with this one in terms of what team is best put out or what team will be put out. The only issue in the back 4 will no doubt be who plays at left-back. Wilson actually played reasonmably well by his standards on Sunday but I’d still go with Naylor in the hope that he can turn in an unusually solid performance like he has done in the past in Europe i.e. Milan at home. Caldwell, McManus and Hinkel will no doubt make up the rest.

Sadly in midfield and forward we are missing Crosas and Samaras and whether or not Veengoor get’s rushed back I don’t know. I’d certainly start with McGeady on the right of midfield and possibly Robson on the left. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Donati make a shock appearance much like Jarosik did the last time Man Who.

Whoever plays, their aim should be a simple one – get in about their players from the first minute much like Everton did in the 2nd half against them last week. Don’t allow them time on the ball and let the likes of Ronaldo know he is in for a tough time. We have no chance of matching them skill wise. It will certainly take a mammoth performance from everyone concerned and a below par one from Man Who if we are to take something from the game, but stranger things have happened so you never know.

I would litter the midfield with workers and even consider playing Mcgaedy up front with Macdonald.

Boruc
Hinkel
Wilson
Caldwell
McManus
Robson
Brown
Hartley
Maloney
McGaedy
Macdonald
StMirren1987
and united will line up

Foster
Neville Ferdinand Vidic Evra

Not upbeat in the slightest! We can all live in hope though that we can cause a major upset. Without hope after all, what have we?

I would be very happy with a 5-0 win for ManU.
Any win will do though. They're part of my bankers bet.

It would be niuce to see Boruc cock up a few like he did in the game against the h uns as well.
uberman
2-0 for Man U, Porkheid half empty with 10 minutes to go biggrin.gif

Very long shot ,i know , but i've put a tenner on Celtic to win 1-0 & Naka to score . 66/1.
Even though it's Man Utd (& i'm gonna get shot down in flames) i would bet Celtic against anyone at Parkhead , partiularly if we have a point to prove.
celtic_glasgow
I honestly see use getting something here, providing we can keep it tight at the back. Our back must not make any mistakes, which for us on a european night, would be extremely rare.
United's back four can definately be exposed, they are not at their strongest, and if Hull can score 3 against them, surely we can manage one.
McDonald up top on his own flanked by maloney and mcgeady, nakamura on the bench, if loovens had been fit i reckon caldwell would have played holding midfield but hartely will probably sit there now.
I think we need a Barry Robson/Christian Daillyesque tackle very early on, just to show them were up for it. It would definitely life the ground and create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Can't wait to be standing there when the champions league music comes on, its an extremely special moment

Now get into these English b*****ds!!! mad.gif

Yeah hes supposed to be starting Ben Foster in Goals and Rafael at right back, maybe he might rest Rooney and start with Tevez upfront with Berbatov and give rooney the last 30 mins

Certainly with 10 minutes to go the Celtic fans were piling out of the reserve game today.

Personally I think Man Utd will win by 2 goals, winning 3-1.

Even without a few players, they still have a superb side.

Ben Foster is a good goalie in his own right, Evans is a good player and already an International. Just have to wait and see how this Rafael boy plays right enough.

Who? huh.gif

Really does my nut in when fans can't even spell the names of their own players. Get it with Rangers as well.

Kevin Thomson gets called Thompson. rolleyes.gif
DaMarcus Beasley gets called MarcusDa Beasley/Da Beasley rolleyes.gif
Chris Boyd rolleyes.gif
Brahim Hendami rolleyes.gif

It's not hard to learn the names of the players you watch every week now, is it?

Nonsense. No positional sense whatsoever. Man Utd are getting through the midfield easily and are just getting overwhelmed by shear numbers in the final third.

Celtic riding their luck big time but all credit to them - this is exactly what they were playing for.
patto
Arsehole ran on the pitch, banned for life he doesn't realise how lucky he is to be in paradise the night.
