Full Version: Who Takes Celtic's Penalties?

Hello

I've got a few quid left in my betfair account and when choosing a scorer I usually find it's a good bet to put it on whoever takes the penalties for the team that's the favourite to win, so who do you think would take a penalty for Celtic should they get one today?

(NB. This is not a sly dig at Celtic always getting a penalty laugh.gif )

Thanks,
Sean.

Short term memory loss?

Maloney "won" one against Kilmarnock at the end of September. Can't remember if he converted it himself or ooh ahh up the ra did the honors.

To be fair mate, if it's the one I'm thinking of it was a stone waller... huh.gif Think Maloney then blasted it wide.

I ended up putting money on Andy Driver, Scott Brown and Gary Caldwell ( biggrin.gif ) to score at any time.

They had 2 penalties in that game.

The first one was a stonewaller when Maloney was brought down. He took it himself and missed it.

Nakamura then dived for one in the second half and Samaras scored it.

Aye, right enough.

Missed a few recently, Maloney, Robson, Hartley. Long may it continue.

How come dead ball expert Nakamura does'nt take them? Apart from today obviously.

Put 2 quid on so it was 34 quid or so profit, I also had money on Dirk Kuyt to score yesterday, so I'm forty something pounds up this weekend. I quite like this 'score at any time' thing, much better than first scorer.

I'm usually rubbish at betting as well. biggrin.gif

There is no way on your life that gary caldwell was 17/1 to score at anytime today, absolutely no chance

Are you suggesting I made it up? ohmy.gif

A new question: "Who scores Celtic's penalties?"

I remember, as aforementioned, Samaras scoring one this season, but recently they seem to be missing more than they score.

well yes

Would have been interesting to see Hartleys reaction if he had scored. Wouldnt have liked to see him go over the top with the celebrations.

Why on earth would I do that? Why would you even think that? Maybe that's the sort of thing you do to big yourself up to strangers on the internet, but I don't!

And anyway, at least give me some credit, if I was going to make something up I'm sure I could come up with something more elaborate than '34 quid on Gary Caldwell'! laugh.gif

I don't have to justify myself to the likes of you, but here's a screen shot anyway:

Maybe it’s just as well we haven’t been given a couple of penalties that we should have been given.

I heard calls on Sunday for Gary Caldwell to be the penalty taker.

That would probably be a decent shout actually, he seems to be playing with a reasonable amount of confidence at the moment.

Why doesn't Scott McDonald ever take them?

McDonald did take at least one last season and he missed - well, technically it was a save.

Are you forgetting he missed one against Scotland’s Shame FC last season?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

He was still closer than most of Celtic's recent attempts though!
