Folk couldn't write fiction as good as this. Saints and Dunfermline better be worried though as he's already making his list for next season and has seen a good player at each club.
I also reckon we should just end the league at New Year if Livi are in contention as according to Walter Landi.
"Believe me, if we arrive at January 1 when the window opens in the first two or three positions, just two or three points behind the top position, then I will win the league, that is for sure."That's without even getting started on how he was a front runner for the Fulham job.
You'd think after the Champions League rubbish, someone would have a quiet word with the bloke.

Well, we'll see Radford. It can't hurt to have a bit of confidence but with St. Johnstone, in my opinion, having the best squad by some distance and already being ahead, this is the sort of comment that may come back to bite him on the arse.
It was a good victory yesterday against, what I thought were, a good team but this sort of talk should really only come after we're beating title contenders. If we had beaten you two weeks ago then I would have seen no problem with it. I'm still confident if we can get some decent depth in January and keep our key players fit then we can challenge and obviously Landi thinks so as well.
Edit:- I actually missed a few gems in there.
"I see one good player from St Johnstone here, another good player from Dunfermline there," he said. "I am already making my list for next season."
"I don't like Mourinho because he talks too much."
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

What a tart.
"Then, honestly, one week ago, I received an offer from a Championship team, a team which has a manager who started off winning but then results have not been so good," he said.
Honestly? Why honestly? I mean what ever could make us doubt your credentials for taking on a Championship post, Roberto? I mean after all YOU ARE THE MAN.

We have our own mini-Mourinho here

I love it. And before you start, no, I'm not comparing their managerial skills.
It's our depth that's screwed with us so far. By the time the transfer window closes, we'll be a much stronger team than we are now. And I believe him when he says we'll be the team to beat in the 2nd half of the season.

Perhaps you'd like to answer the following question which I asked in another thread where Livi's January signings were mentioned:
QUOTE
Have Livi paid the local businesses what they are due?
I'd be surprised to see Livi add to their squad to any great degree in January. Massone's claimed he's paying existing wages out of his own pocket, so where does the injection of cash needed to sign new players come from?
Plus, you're set to lose Elliot in January. Someone will no doubt correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty certain a player cannot go out on loan to the same team twice in one season.

i dont know if the debts have been paid as im not involved with any of the people owed money but given that the perpetual talking about it by those involved seems to have stopped im guessing that they have/negotiations are making positive progress.
again im not sure but given that the manager has said that should we still be in the hunt at xmas we will be bringing in players i have no reason to doubt that we wouldnt
as to elliot there was a bit in the paper the other day that said hearts are calling up all their young strikers again and he hasn't been contacted so he felt it'd be best for everyone if he stayed at livi,

http://www.livingstonfc.co.uk/newsdet.php?...6&type_id=1I'd also assume negotiations are going well. I mean, I'm sure the SFL, not to mention the club's creditors, would take a dim view of any January 'spending sprees' if the club hasn't paid what is due.
Your manager might be suggesting fresh players will be brought in during the window, but where's the guarantee? He seems overly fond of opening his mouth and letting his belly rumble.
As for Elliot, Livi can't simply keep him. He's signed until January when he'll have to return to his parent club. I can't imagine Hearts will let him leave for nothing and he's bound to attract the attention of far more attractive options than Livingston if his scoring streak continues.

Well Landi is nothing if not entertaining. If we were rooted to the bottom of the league I would certainly be a little bit miffed with the level of his chat. But right now we are achieving far more than I thought we would so he can claim to be a better manager than Alex Ferguson for all I care.

Shoosh: we're a very strong team who play good football and have a good manager. Which begs the question why the feck are we bottom in both reality and Roberto Landiland, but I digress...
Landi is a nice guy, I can personally vouch for that, but he doesn't half talk some shite.

Wasn't impressed with either team in the first half, Sparky coming on made a big difference, as does McPake in defence, seems if either is missing we struggle, although we managed for the most part with Elliot coming in.
Landi is a tad eccentric but i like his passion for the game and seems a genuine guy, he's doing a good job so far anyway, so i'm not complaining.

Cock snot? Poor show, my man.
It was merely a comparison between the two managers' comments and to show that Landi can be a good sportsman and not make silly comments. Perhaps his exuberance is over-powering for some at times but why not if he can keep up the results? Of course the champions league comment was getting carried away with things but despite that, I think he has every right to be the way he is at this moment in time.
This is better than I thought we were going to be at this point in time, perhaps Landi (in his mind) felt the same way?

There's a slight difference between saying you contained Livi for the majority of a game and saying that your going to lead a First Division team, crippled by debt, to the SPL and the UEFA Cup while also claiming you could teach Gordon Strachan a thing or two about managing a team in the Champions League.
I'm not really sure what you're trying to achieve with your Irons comparison, but, as the saying goes on here, it's an epic fail.

Yes, I didn't deney there was a difference in this case but there's still points being made by some people that he is a complete arse. As proved by myself, he can tone it down at times. The Davie Irons comments were mainly to show that any manager can be biased and blinkered at times. I'm referring more to the Clyde comments than anything else.

Nonsense. You hit the bar a minute or two before scoring the goal. Before that you barely had a significant attempt on goal. You were contained for the vast majority of the game. You're being picky over a minor issue of semantics.
