The Mighty Annan are ready and waiting.
The walls of the Arena have been hightened, the barrackades have been reinforced and the stairs to heaven have been completed in preparation for the Spartan "not so large as last week" Army coming to town.
Annan have infiltrated the enemy from the capital and word is filtering back that the Spartan Army have many casualties from the forage of last week, the rockers horses are in need of repair, and there has been many deserters.
The ship is sinking so the route by sea is not now an option, Co. Generals Mickie and Sam are in disagreement to how best to save face. Suicide has been muted on several occassions to save embarresment but neither could decide who should go first and neither was confident enough to do it alone. The white flags are ready in preparation, no Red Cross are available and towels have been packed as a precautionary measure.
The Spartan "or whats still left of them" Army will be shown the back door as they enter Annan, Dan "the boy" Gerrard will be made to look more like Frankie Howard than Lampard and his comrades will be like lambs to the slaughter.
Were waiting for you, were going to finish you off this time and then were going to set sail for the Highlands.
This is likely to be the last time you come knocking on our door for quite some time, make the most of tonight as tomorrow may never come.

Brilliant. We offered Mike & Sam the customary glass of whisky, loaded revolver and pointed the way to the study (only joking boys). But they're not having it. Could the loaded pistol be pointed at Harry, Degsie and Jardy instead? Don't think so. Are you and Hugo both going to be at the game?

Hugo left on a scouting mission (got family business to attend to) way way down south so won't be there in body. He will however be keeping up to date with the goings on by bongo drums (sat i light). He aught to get his priorities right.
AZ 4 moi, i wouldn,t miss the game for anything (well almost). Its a big day 4 both clubs and its a shame for Spartans that they are taking on the Mighty Annan. There can only be one winner.
If by any slim chance one of you is still breathing at 4.44pm I hope we go for the jugular and finish you off.
A rematch iznae much good to either of us this coming week.

It seems that some of Annan players must have thought the game was won when big Kev Neilson bulleted in a header and then for the remaining 35 minutes of the first half Spartans threw every thing at the Annan rearguard except the kitchen sink and could not score.
Annan then had a relaxation break which lasted 20 minutes for most and more for some then bang Malin shellshocked the nots so mighty Annan and before Harry could say Houdini Spartans Archibald had made it 2 with a fine header. Annan needed a leader at this point to get back into the game and try as some of them might he couldnt be found and the battle was lost.
Good luck to Spartans in the long run and I for one hope its a long time til we do battle again.
WJR if youve still got the the pistol keep it hidden and please do not pass it to Cloggies as he must have three or four bullets that he wants firing. Im running for cover just in case there's a massacre on the cards.

All of Cloggies bullets will only be aimed at one-man

Well i was a little too drunk to put anything with any sense on last night.
What a great day out!! Even better what a great performance from the boys. Not only did we win, but the standard of football we played was excellent.
I was really disappointed with the Annan tactic of hoof it up the park. You dont really see a lot of that in the EOSL and I have been told by many it is not something Annan ever did.
Speaking to Flocks after the game he said he had been down with a few different teams and was used to a hard working, thinking, passing Annan team.
Special mention to Townsley, big donkey that he is got a wee bit of stick in the first half after booted the ball out the ground after it went out for a corner.
Also it was a stone wall pen in the first half!! Annan Keeper thought so too, but them the breaks. The ref had a bit of a mare. Not sure there was a need to book anyone at all.
Good game. Wish Annan all the best and this result should shut up some of the cocky p***ks on here of late - i look forward to hearing what the majority good fan has to think!

Hey Gallowsbank you missed out the bit about the corner you scored from swinging out of play or did we agree not to mention that?
I look forward to seeing you guys up at Ainslie Park some time soon.
Great day yesterday and sets thing up nicely for today's Sportsman lunch, just what my liver needs - a day of incomparable Annan hospitality followed by a lunchtime kickoff the following day.
Will be taxi for WJR by about 6.00 I fear. I'll try and stay off the board this evening.

Looking forward to playing Spartans in the next round, a bit worried of an upset though!
How many fans do you think will make the trip up? I remember a few years ago that there wasn't many that made the trip up to Lossie, only 5 miles away from Elgin. Hopefully with us being an SFL team, you'll take a good support up.

What if i am a PRI_K and a mighty big one at that.
At least im not a simple pimple and an insignific_nt one at that. Or should i say dolly dimple.
Spartans played well as a unit and fully deserved to win the battle at Galabank.
Annan however have won the war.
Heres looking forward to the visit of Montrose for the first time this Saturday. The battlefield has been repaired, the wounds inflicted upon us on Saturday by Spartans are only superficial and an extra training session or two plus the addition of a couple of young recruits means the show is well and truely back on the road.
A sacrifice or three on the way to world domination is well worth it.
Good luck to the Spartan Army for the remainder of this years campaign and when you go knocking for a BIG Team to officially open Ainslie Grass Park just remember you owe the Mighty Annan a favour.

I have sobered up at last & would like to congratulate the team on another magnificent performance.I must admit that I feared the worst when the big Annan centre back scored with a powerful header after 10 minutes. However Spartans battled back & grew in confidence as the game went on.Gavins goal was an absolute cracker & after Archies header for the 2nd I expected an Annan onslaught which never materialised.Annan appeared shellshocked & resorted to a hoof up the park rather than playing through the mid-field.This suited Spartans & although Annan created a few chances Spartans had numerous chances on the counter attack to extend their lead.I think we fully deserved the win & I must say that Annan were very gracious in defeat & their post-match hospitality was 1st class as always.
I hope they get over this cup defeat & concentrate on improving their position in the sfl, starting with wins over East Stirling & Montrose this week.Congratulations to Edinburgh City & Vale on their excellent cup wins, pity City didnt win last week as they deprived me of a small fortune from Ladbrokes --such is life !! Back to the league on Saturday at Coldstream & 3 points are required if we are to catch Dalbeattie & Heriot Watt.I am looking forward to the Elgin trip already & hope all EOS teams do well in the next round.
