Melbourne Cup is this Tuesday (4th Nov) - anyone got any tips?

Going to the Cup and really looking forward to it!

I'm undecided between 3 at the moment, Mad Rush, Nom de Jeu and Profound Beauty.

Mad Rush came 4th at the Caulfield Cup after being last going round the last corner, with the Melbourne Cup being a longer race I fancy it to come through. Nom de Jeu finished 2nd in that race too and had a good showing, its a good price I think. Profound Beauty wasn't one I had paid close attention to but in the last few days its price has shortened and it's being mentioned a fair bit in the press out here.

The clear fav is Septimus, but I don't see it winning. Chances are that it will be an international horse as the best fancied Australian Horse, efficient, pulled out yesterday.

A bit late, seeing it's tomorrow, but does anybody have a wee flutter and who do you fancy?

Was there last year, and it was a cracking day out. If your in that part of the world, I couldn't recommend anything better.

Getting up in a bit, and hitting the pub later, so I will take a wee wander down and place a wee bet methinks. Mad rush sounds like a potential.

ZIPPING and MAD RUSH for myself.

Too bad I won $140 last year when Efficient won it also had each-way bet on Zipping in the same race which came in 4th had it came in 3rd I would have won lots of mulla.

This year I have money on Nom De Jeu and Barbaricus both each-way bets.

Viewed by a baw hair from Bauer. I had a couple of bucks on Profound Beauty e/w.

Bugger all, I had Nome de Jeu, the missus had barbaricus and dad had mad rush.

lol the curse of P&B strikes again... noone mentioned any of the 4 placed horses.
