Why are United fans even mentioning Dens Park?
1 capacity isnt big enough (10k?)
2 Its right next door to you lot and im sure FFC would contest any such suggestion.
In terms of travelling, East End Park maybe a shout but even then, im not sure what there capacity is, 13k?
Edinburgh is obviously closer to Falkirk however is much more sensible capacitys, ie around the 17k mark.
We played Aberdeen at Tynecastle in last season's semi-final. Aberdeen's travelling support is considerably larger than Falkirk's -i'm not having a pop there, we both know it to be true. The game attracted 12,000 fans.
If we play Falkirk there then the game will do well to break the 10,000 barrier as neither club has a particularly large travelling support and a league cup semi-final isn't a particularly big game.
Dens holds 11,800. I'm not too arsed about Falkirk complaining about being in Dundee because we've had to go to Glasgow plenty times to play the OF in these games. The issue is whether it would be big enough and the problem is that if it was at Dens then Utd would probably sell rather a lot of tickets and the game might sell out which is an unsatisfactory situation.
Ironically, the game could be played at Tynecastle in front of 8,000 people to ensure that everybody who wants a ticket gets one instead of playing the game at Dens in fron of 11,800.
East End Park holds 12,000 which would be ample imho. The problem with East End Park is that Dunfermline isn't easy to get to by train.
Anyhoo, the game might never happen
