I've made a bit of a horrendous error. I was on Bet 365 looking through the games and without thinking clicked on Dumbarton, typed in the amount to bet and placed the bet without thinking about it at all, as if it wasn't actually for real.

I would probably have placed a bet on it anyway, but with much more consideration and a lower stake. That was a moment of madness.

*crosses fingers for a Dumbarton win*

You could phone/email and tell them what happened and they might cancel it.

I remember at the 2002 World Cup sticking £500 on the wrong team, and the bookmaker in question (UK Betting, who aren't around any more) were happy to void it.

They should hump Berwick anyway, Berwick are utter gash.Would give us a game tough

Edit: Did you get good odds?
Fudge
I think I will do that.

The strange thing is that it wasn't a moment where I had a rush of blood to the head and lumped on much more than I should have. I just sort of clicked on them and typed in my whole balance (which I had in my head as I'd checked it second earlier) and clicked confirm without thinking at all.

Thankfully I had withdrawn about 90% of what was already in there a couple of days ago otherwise I really could have shoved silly money on it by accident.

Is there a certain amount you have to bet at an online bookes for them to question it, or flag it up as having to be given an ok by a member of staff. I once asked in Coral and they said it was £2000. (I asked out of curiosity, I wasn't planning on placing a bet over £2000.)

EDIT - I got 4/7
blue4578
It varies from event to event and bookmaker to bookmaker. Clearly online bookmakers have limits, which are often displayed. If you want to bet more than the limit, you have to phone up and sometimes certain bookmakers will let you bet quite a lot more than the limit. Others are too scared to take a bet of any amount over a few pounds.

That £2000 at Coral is a load of rubbish. You go into most Coral shops and try to put say £500 on any bet and they'll have to phone to get it authorised.

After I'd asked the doddery old woman, she asked if I was planning putting that sort of money on East Stirlinshire to win the league as they had taken loads of large bets on them. She gave the opinion that this was a 'great bet' and that she herself had some money on it. With predictions like that I should have known she was talking rubbish.

After some consideratiom. I've just decided to leave the bet I placed

Back on this weekend, I see Chesterfield are 2.87 at Paddy Power at Bournemouth. That seems almost too good to be true so I've lumped on before it comes down. They have scored 14 goals in their last three games and their 6-1 win at third placed Exeter was just stunning. Bournemouth aren't dreadful, very up and down, but considering the next best I could find was 2.7 at bet365 and betfair are 2.68 it seems a cracking bet. PP seem very generous lately, another one I like is Swansea 2.6 at Doncaster(I'm sticking with decimals now, they're the future!). Oldham 1.7 at home to Yeovil is best at PP too, I should be on some sort of commission. laugh.gif

Should qualify the above by saying that I am in deficit for the season.

Liking the look of Arsenal at Stoke (1/2) and Stirling Albion at home to Stranraer (5/6)

And although they've been rotten at home, I'm quite tempted by Aberdeen (6/5) to beat Killie.

EDIT: Just noticed they don't have the QP - East Fife game on 365 unsure.gif

So far Stirling Albion at home to Stranraer (4/5) and Dumbarton at home to Berwick (8/15). With the goings on at Berwick i can see then getting trounced and Stranraer are gash. Add Livingston to that at (8/11) and Bradford (8/15).
The Naitch
Put £2 (total stake) on any 3 from 4 to win from this bunch:

Motherwell vs Hamilton (4/6)
Stirling vs Stranraer (4/5)
Raith Rovers vs Alloa (4/9)
Dundee vs Airdrie (evens)

If all four come through then it'll get me £10.17.

Also went for a £2 (total stake) trixie on this lot:

Dagenham and Redbridge vs Accrington Stanley (4/5)
Peterborough vs Hereford (1/2)
Bradford vs Barnet (8/15)

If all three come through it'll get me £5.95.

What do folk think of Udinese at home to Genoa? Udinese's home form is really good but I'm a bit put off by Genoa's recent unbeaten run of 4 games, including a draw away to Inter...

Udinese home form: 4-1-0, only drawing vs Napoli
Genoa away form: 0-1-3

Surely a stick-on home win. Then again, I'm a bit worried that Genoa's 100% home record and recent draw away to Inter will carry on to this match.

(Best price is 9/10)

Thoughts?

I'd just swerve that one to be honest, really enjoying the competitiveness of Serie A this season and I'm flying without doing anything particularly different. I prefer Palermo 4/6 against a poor chievo side and Samp 4/5 against Torino, both teams at home.

Can see Dumbarton being a lot shorter than 4/7 saturday morning, Fudge has the right idea.

Morton, Ross County and Ayr , doubles and a treble. Rather confident for once (not a good thing probably wink.gif ).

going to try something different so i can get a couples of wins under my belt.

so far the teams i'm looking at are.

raith to beat alloa - alloa have hands down one the most gash away record in britian, and raith are still unbeaten at home. I think they ll make it difficult for them but a narrow raith win.

Cardiff-Wolves Draw - i think this has a draw written all over it, they ve only been beaten by birmingham this season, and have the most draws in the league. Wolves are finding form again but i expect them to held to a draw this weekend.

East Fife to beat Queen's Park - East Fife are such a good team away from home this season and queens park havfe not played to their usual par at hampden. I think that East Fife wil be up for this game big time.

Chester to beat Exeter - Chester winning 3-0 against Brentford will have them brimming with confidence. It will be the other way for Exeter after being raped 6-1 to Chesterfield, and i think that Chester will continue to pile on their misery and their own momentum with a win here.

Peterborough to beat Hereford - Peterborough will have a thing to prove after losing a late goal to crewe and although hereford have been gradually improving in their last three games i think it will be a narrow win in the favour of peterborough.

Sheff Utd to beat Plymouth - Bramall lane is still a fortress even though they have failed to finish off in a few of their games this season, plymouth have been on a downer in their last couple of games.

Chelsea to beat Sunderland - Chelsea will have a point to prove at their home ground after losing to liveropool last week, although i think sunderland will have a point to prove after their poor display against stoke last night.

Middlesbrough to beat West Ham - Middlesbrough are a good team in their own hunting ground and West Ham look like they re going to continue their poor form at the riverside.

Also looking at Stockport to beat Carlisle, Bury to beat Notts County, Livi to beat Morton, Ayr to beat Arbroath, Dumbarton to beat Berwick and Frofar away to Elgin.

Probly going to be stick on a few trebles on the teams that i'm looking at.

I notice alot of people are taking Dumbarton at home to berwick, I'd get on it as soon as possible as I can only see the price on Dumbarton dropping between now and Saturday. We are on a fairly good run at the moment and it seems Berwick are in meltdown currently, and have just sold one of their better players in Jim Lister although i've just read that the Berwick boss is hoping to bring in 2 new faces before Saturday. In our other meeting this season in Berwick,Dumbarton came away with a 2-1 victory an the Berwick goal coming after a horrendus error from our keeper if i remember. All in all it points to a home win but as has been said before stranger things have happend!
the jambo-rocker
as i mentioned in the latter post going on trebles. Because my of attempt at my own syndicate was poor with every single lost on the trot, i'm having a go with the remaining amount of cash. £25

3 wins and 2 loses doesn't inspire confidence although West Ham's shocking away record should see Boro get the points.

I'll be on Dumbarton too, with a single

Also have my treble on

Leyton Orient v Hartlepool (6/4) orient are in really poor form, Hartlepool are not great, but I think they should have enough to win at Orient.
Falkirk v Dundee United (6/4) United on a good run of results right now, Falkirk aren't setting the heather alight either
Peterhead v Brechin (6/5) Peterhead have slipped recently, with losses to Ayr, East Fife and Alloa, Brechin are flying in div 2 at the mo.

£10 pays £137.50

Oldham are 4/6 at home to Yeovil, I'll be on that.

A home record of 5-2-0 vs. an away record of 1-1-4. Also, Yeovil have only won twice out of 13 this season and, even though they are unbeaten in 3, they'll lose this one. This was also tipped on a wee newsletter I get so I'm reasonably confident...

Real Betis at evens to beat Depor is also a tip I've been given but I'm not too sure about it.

Suppose I'll be taking Dumbarton as well then (6/10 in Hills).

I would go for Udinese. I will be on my European line. They are looking very very strong at the moment especially the wat Di Natale is playing. Genoa are fantastic at home but pretty poor travellers as the form you posted shows.

I'm thinking:

Everton 8/11
Oldham 8/13
Lincoln 10/11
Livingston 8/11

£10 on them with possibly Man Utd thrown in to boost my return.

Also decided instead of putting one tenner line on and a few £1 and £2 lines I am going with a £8 (Not sure why) or £10 bet with a £5 bet and a £2 European bet.

Rab, did you start your own syndicate with £100? And why 5 £5 trebles? You should with a £20 solid treble with a more adventrous £5 line.

Everton have failed to win at Goodison this season and Fulham have failed to win away.

There is also the Andy Johnson going back to Goodison factor. I could be wrong but I for one am leaving this game well alone.

Was just wondering what peoples thought are on Stoke Arsenal? Obviously not on an accy or anything maybe just a few quid or whatever? Stoke are 7/1 (bet365) I just feel that with Arsenal traditionally being suspect at corners and other set peices and Stoke launching the ball into the box at every chance, coupled with Arsenal maybe lacking confidence after the Spurs game does anyone else think this has the potential for an upset?

Not that it's saying much, but before Gallas pulled out due to his "hamstring", apparently Wenger was going to bring in Toure anyway as a way to try and combat the bit in bold.

I think every Arsenal player will be desperate to get the Spurs embarrasment out of the headlines by getting back to normality and (hopefully) horsing Stoke.
