Dalbeattie Star gubbed Selkirk 6-0. Well worth the win, Selkirk created very little to be honest and once Star went in front after 20 minutes or so they were fairly unlikely to loose the game. Missed a few chances that made you wonder if they'd pay for it, but once they got the third about 15 minutes into the second half it was never in doubt.

Scott Milligan got a hat trick despite missing a penalty. Took three pitch inspections before the referee Neil McLennon (can't see him ever being given an Old Firm game if he makes it through the ranks with that name!) allowed it to go ahead. Good performance from him, sensibly refereed the game in atrocious conditions.

Wouldn't say Selkirk were poor, they put up a good fight, but Star were just a better side. They are top of the league after all!

Gala v Leith should never have gone ahead and then at half time should have been stopped after a further 45 minutes of rain. Conditions were dangerous for players.

Leith missed numerous 1st half chances including a penalty which was saved by the keeper. The player taking it slipped before he hit it due to the condition of the park.
0-0 at half time before Gala had a player sent off about 15 minutes into 2nd half. Gala then took the lead after a break forward and Des Sutherland scored.
Richie Johnstone got Leith's equaliser with about 10 minutes to go after Gala had missed further chances. Leith then lost another goal a few minutes from time after a further break forward.

Overall, conditions really did not give either team the opportunity to play decent football but with the chances Leith created first half, they should really have won comfortably. Which has been the story of the season so far. Same last week against Tynecastle.

i think the gala defence was dodgy again but maybe a draw would have been fair i think gala were not at there best but tried to play football and got caught a few times leith just were far too slow to move the ball up top! gass in the middle for gala played really well dictating the game and watson made a save from the penalty the player didnt slip ( bad excuse for a bad pen) ewart for leith was terrible all he did was shout and got tore to shreds off sutherland and gibson! GREAT FIGHTING SPIRIT FROM GALA THO!! WELL DONE LADS STILL TOP O THE LEAGUE!!!! smile.gif
