Baffled as to why this guy has not been called up for Scotland.

What does everyone think?? I think he need's to be in the next squad for sure.

Only if he scores in 'big' games
glasnost
Yeah it would be a good idea to bring him into the squad................if you are wanting Scotland to abysmally fail.

Mark Wilson is in between average and god feckin awful. It's sad as a Celtic fan to see him play a prominent role in our team, especially when he is keeping a promising young player out of it in Paul Caddis. He is like a little boy lost when he is out on the pitch and the sooner he pisses off to some diddy SPL team the better.

I assume this is a joke.

He redefines weak. An awful full back.

He will laugh because some people on an internet forum are sayin that his son is an awful footballer who should be playing for Stalybridge Celtic, never mind Glasgow Celtic?

Does he know his son isn't, or rather shouldn't, be good enough to play for Celtic?

Would you like me to ask him for you?

Yes if you don't mind. While you are at it, can you ask him to ask his son what exactly Strachans problems are with Paul Caddis and Darren O'Dea.

Thanks.

Can you ask him what his favourite type of Jelly Belly is? Otherwise I won't believe you. tongue.gif

PS I would rather have eleven Kirk Klubfoots than one Mark Wilson.

Watching Mark Wilson in Europe is actually embarrassing, and im not a Celtic fan. You know its bad when your team is being outclassed on the park and the rest of your team are outclassing you.
Sir Kevin Of Kilsyth
Any time ive seen Mark Wilson play in a big game he has looked badly out of depth. He is physically weak and his crossing is appauling. It is strange to say this but all round Kirk Broadfoot is a far superior player.
Jeff Venom
Is there a chance that ending up at full back has put his career into reverse?
Im sure he only ended up at full back due to lack of cover for a wiped out defence at united, and ended up playing well and staying there.

I recall watching Scotland 21's play Italy 21's at Fir Park a few seasons ago and Wilson was still playing in the middle of the park, flanked by Brown and Thomson. Wilson was the best player in a scotland jersey that night and I was very excited by the prospect of a future scotland midfield containing those three guys, given we were playing a pretty impressive italian team. Sadly its not turned out that way
BadgersNadgers
Alan Hutton is our best right full back. Our second best is (gulp) either Kirk Broadfoot or Graham Alexander. Mark Wilson doesn't get a look in.

I had high hopes for Whittaker but he's a shadow of the player he was at Hibs. Probably doesn't help that all four of Hibs great big hopes of the future all went onto play for one of the Old Firm where they play the same opposition 4 times a season and then not go over their own half way line in Europe rather than take a chance and try to make it in the Premiership. The pace and power of the Premiership is so greater than everywhere else that even if you go for a year and fail you'll still leave a better player, rather than growing stale at the old firm.

The players that Brown, Thomson, Riordan and Whittaker could have became was extremely exciting but now they'll ammount to absolutely nothing and stay at the old firm for years before leaving for another scottish side or a lower championship side. I just hope Steven Fletcher isn't stupid enough to make the same mistake.

That's a great summation of the game actually, and Wilson's performance.

He's a player I've never rated, even at Dundee Utd. They did very well to get as much as they did for him
SteveVoom
I'd say he is better than alexander. but hutton is the best we have i'm afraid to say. if broadfoot can get a call up then even i could get a call up givin that i play in that position myself. but yeah wilson should atleast be in the squad as back up for hutton.
uni
Wilson is better than Naysmith, Broadfoot and Alexander. It is a good point and I think Burley should look at him because i have always thought he was a good defender

Hutton is a damn good full back. Alexander, Klubfoot and Steven Whittaker are all merely back ups. Wilson isn't even in their class.

Who is Mark Wilson? Is he the player who never plays for Celtic. I know the bloke I'm thinking off makes the odd few games then gets injured again.
PTFC27
No. He is shit.

Well i asked Marks dad the questions you asked his answers are as follows

Q- Does he know his son isn't or rather shouldn't, be good enough to play for Celtic?
A-Mark is proud to play for Celtic and is more than confident he is good enough to pull on the jersey

Q-Strachans problems are with Paul Caddis and Darren O'Dea.
A-How the f**k will he know that ask Gordon not him. laugh.gif

Yes, but can you ask his son if he has any idea i.e. from what his said around the training ground, dressing room, from other players, from the players themselves etc etc.

The decision not to play Caddis in particular is baffling.

It's not even that he looks good (which he does) but the fact Wilson is so bad, any other option must be preferable to him.
