So what would you have as your national anthem?

I hate when every man and their dog describe it as a 'dirge'. It obviously is, because a dirge is a type of song but it's quite obvious people call it this thinking it is just a general negative and derogatory word.

I'd like to have Scotland the Brave, but the words to it just sound shite.

Keep it as Flower of Scotland.

Flower of Scotland. It is a good song and i dont think there is a better alternitave. Loch Loomand is 2nd best in that list but Flower of Scotland is the best.

Caledonia is a belter of a scottish song so i think it should be that.

No Limits. Its a song everyone knows the words to and it would fairly get the stands jumping. I wouldnt get the Corries guy to sing it though. Edited to add that Chumbawamba one would be good to.

Flower of Scotland's ok but I would rather have a more positive uplifting anthem. Lets steal Ireland or Wales anthem. I like them better.

I like the general upbeat tempo of Scotland the Brave, and it's a cool title, but the words are not the best.

Voted for 500 Miles as it was the only upbeat tune I knew the words to. I like Sunshine of Leith better, it's great for a drunken sing along.

I'm composing an upbeat wee ditty titled '12 Ruel Street'.

I voted for Auld Lang Syne, its Scottish internationally recognised and instead of lining up like fannys when its played getting cold the players of both teams could join hands round the centre circle with the ref and linesman in the middle and do that thing you do at weddings were you run into the middle and get a fly kick at the guy opposite you that you don't like. That way everyone would be warmed up and raring to go.

Of those listed Caledonia is the best but it's not anthem quality (although it's a great song). FOS is a dirge (and offensive to non-Nats) and Loch Lomond is quite possibly the worst song ever written in this country. I like the Proclaimers but 500 Miles is a pop song which would make us a laughing stock if it were our anthem. I voted for other. I'd go for A Man's a Man or God Save The Queen.
