I have now counted 19 yellow cards for us in our last 4 games. Totally unacceptable! It seems that we cannot even be sporting in our total lack of ability this season.

As long as Broon continue with his tactical ineptitude and baffling team selections, we are staring relegation in the face. And that is before the (many) suspensions kick in?

Surely this shocking count (of 19 cards in 4 games) sets a record in this league?

Perhaps he is personally teaching your players how to tackle. The man was a dirty b*****d.

Its just frustration which is bad man management on Brown's part
HardingsHamstring
Must have been another few on Saturday. Lack of proper quality players seems to have made the only tactics Brown can turn to is not to play football of their own, but to boot the opposition off the park. Three or four really bad challenges with no intent to win the ball (and I did the shocker from Finlayson too), surprising no one was sent off.

They will reap what they sow with thuggery like that.

Who cares? Alex Rae's been sacked, didn't you know?

This calls for a new thread.

Thanks for that. Rubbing our noses in it! dry.gif

Seriously though, I would be keen to know if any of the numbers men like Radford or SD can remember anyone having a worse record than that. We were fined for a lot less last season.

The worst example of poor discipline that I have seen at Broadwood in recent seasons was when Andy McClaren picked up 3 red cards in the one game. But that was very much a one off. And respect to the decent Dundee fans on here (yes there are some), they offered no excuses.

What we see with Clyde is a pattern emerging. Stone me! Keep this up and we will not be able to field 11 players by the end of the season.

It surely can't be that bad, FA? According to the thing the SFL release every week, the stats before Saturday's matches were:

Ross County : 22 yellow / 3 red
St Johnstone : 19 yellow / 1 red
Dunfermline : 16 yellow / 2 red
Morton : 14 yellow / 2 red
Clyde : 17 yellow / 0 red
Queen of South : 11 yellow / 3 red
Dundee : 13 yellow / 0 red
Airdrie Utd : 10 yellow / 1 red
Partick Thistle : 7 yellow / 1 red
Livingston : 5 yellow / 1 red

From Saints' point of view, over half our yellows are accounted for by McCaffrey, Hardie and Millar!

Do let me enlighten you:-

v Morton: MacLennan, Gemmill, Wilson, Waddell, McSwegan, Trouten (6)
v Dunfermline:
Clarke, Waddell, Emslie, McSwegan (4)
V QoS:
McSwegan, McKay, Emslie (3)
v Airdrie:
Gemmell, Ohnesorge, McGregor, Kettlewell, Clarke, Gibson (6)

A total of 19 cards in 4 games. I do not have the appetite to go any further back for fear of topping myself!

I don't know where the SFA are getting their figures from, but our tally is more than 17. sad.gif

I can well believe you. I think the SFL take their stuff from the Press Association, so no surprise it's inaccurate.

I believe down south six or more bookings in a single match merits a fine from the authorities. Not sure if the same applies up here.

I have got no recollection of hearing about this, but that takes some doing surely? HOW the 'F' is it possible, surey that turns into a police matter once a player has been sent from the field huh.gif

You could try what Thistle are doing at the moment. We're just standing off the man, and letting him run into the box to set up a goal, just so that there's no risks of any silly yellow cards.

We've only started doing this in the last 6 games, and we haven't won any of them. If you're going to take it further back that that, we lost our steely determination, the day Gardner Speirs left us to take over as QP Manager.

And Dundee had four minutes to chase that game and salvage a point after McClaren was given his first red. Rae seemed not to have the desire to do that.

No, you can be sent off at any time. Stewart McCall (i think) was sent off for shouting abuse at the referee in the car park at bradford once.

Sheff Wed had a players sent off after being subbed off on Sunday but they still ended the game with 11 players.
Radford
Liam Craig was sent off for Falkirk for getting into a verbal slanging match with a Hibs fan, was he not?
DA Baracus
Dave Bowman was sent off something like 12 times in one game for constantly swearing at the ref after the first red (no idea what it was for). He was playing for someone like Forfar at the time. MInd he was suspended for about half a season!
