I dont know about pollock. but i think Pollok will be too good for east craigie.
drs
I think that even Pollock would beat East Craigie, should be at least 5 or 6-0 to the West Coasters.

We've made a fair few changes from last year when we were a very good side. We have had a few injuries and suspensions to contend with so far this year and I've no idea what will be on the pitch against East Craigie. What I can say categorically is we will be nowhere near full strength for the game and the management team may play fringe players to give them fitness.

So the Junior Cup is just a diddy cup now? Or are you not showing East Craigie due respect?

Get over yourself. Football's a squad game, no matter how big or small your squad is. We're down to (at best) 14 players anyway so there's not a lot of scope for change as it is.

Are you telling me that Linlithgow ALWAYS go full strength for every match of the season?

You better not play the fringe players you fielded in the West Final last season!!!

We were full strength that day, injuries allowing.

Pollock In Dundee, how good?

Try a local chip shop. Some are now using pollock instead of cod or haddock.

Apologies for my flippant comment. I'm still a wee bit jealous that you guys got to play in the big boys' cup again. We qualified twice but only got to play once last season. You'd've though they might have let us store one up to use this season.

The boss doesn't seem to have decided who the first team is yet this season so we get a varied taem selection. Maybe it is squad rotation.

How many players do you have on your books? 19 are profiled on your website. Is that up-to-date?

The website is up to date - it is sort of 20 though as we brought in Stephen Cuddihy from Harmony Row for the Scottish Cup and he will be on the bench tomorrow as we're so short of players. Derek Heaton is long term injured, and Brian MacKay has a knee problem. We have 3 missing through holidays and suspensions which gives us 15 but I understand we actually have even less than that available tomorrow.

The joys of being in junior football - I would imagine that the management team are not too happy at the boys who are away on holiday!! Are these fringe players or ones who would generally be guaranteed a game??

And how would you rate the management team so far this season?

Both definitely 1st XI players that are away.

We've played a lot of good football so far this season, but defeat last weekend not great! All in all fans are happy though.

I can never understand the commitment of the better players who choose to take holidays during the season! What comeback do clubs have against them???

A novel thing - fans being happy with the season they are having! Hope it continues unless you happen to meet us in the Scottish!!!!!! biggrin.gif

On the holidays thing, I guess the players are taking them now as we had bugger all of a close season. We finished playing in mid June and the players were back for pre-season in early July.

Re: fans happy - Jim's only been in charge for 11 games and we're top of the league. The Spartans result (and a defeat to Arthurlie in the League Cup) have been the only downs.

Putting all this talk of fish aside, I'll be pleased when the Lok are saithe in round two. Hopefully we can net a good catch in the draw, and by that I mean hooking another minnow. There will be those trawling the net hoping we flounder, but I'm confident the mighty Pollack can swim past any side angling to put us out. I await with baited breath for a response!
