So do you think you should have retained them at the expense of the striking and midfield players you signed?

IMO those who said Airdrie are hard to break down are mental

they may have been hard to break down

Best so far - Dunfermline

Worst so far - Sorry guys but it has to be Morton

Pass marks to Thistle, QOS, Livingston and Dundee

Haven't seen Ross County or Saints.

Clyde difficult to judge as we were down to 10 men from so early on. As an aside though they were a shower of hacking b*st*rds undoubtedly nurtured in the John Brown mould. hypocrite.gif

I'm assuming he's including Cuthbert.

Best:- Clyde/Airdrie - They both shut us down extremely well and looked decent on the break (Airdrie slightly more so). I may have gone for Queens but I don't think it would be fair as we were absolutely shocking and couldn't give them a decent contest.

Worst:- Ross County - Merely on the basis that their discipline was awful. They lead themselves to their own downfall. I haven't really seen anyone who has been shocking apart from us in our defensive display yesterday.

Tbh QoS were basically firing all cylinders for parts in the second half and even if Livi had played well I think we would still have won. Maybe not by as many but still have got the 3 points.

Best is a no brainer, can't get gubbed 6-1 and not pick the team that handed it out. QoS

Worst, hmm tough one, prob our easiest game was Ross County, was pretty comfortable even before 2 sendings off.

I'm not deneying you played well but it wouldn't have been fair to class you as the best considering how bad we were defensively. It wouldn't be a fair comparison to the other games. Had it been a dominating win against a Livi team that had played not bad then the best team would have definetely been Queens.

What a load of absolute pish. A team can only be classed as 'the best' if Livi play well?

Landi has admitted he made a mistake in starting Davidson at the back, but you were only two down when your manager made a switch. Did you ever stop to think that it might just be Queens themselves that made you look ordinary (being generous here).

Nizzy, you werenae there! Our defence was a shambles for the first 2 goals. We were coming back into it at 2-1 when a disaster of a goalie clearance fell sweetly to Weatherston who scored with the last kick of the half. Queens 4th was an excellent and well worked goal. We were completely demoralised and down to 10 men for the last 2 goals. Queens looked very good right from the off and made the most of our uselessness but the team that played Thistle or Dundee recently would never have left Palmerston with that scoreline.

Unlike EL, I would say Queens were the best side we have played but believe me it was the Livi side that made themselves look a lot worse than ordinary.

The team that played Dundee and Thistle scored first and were content to sit in and pick off both teams as they searched for a way back in to the match. It took goals in the closing stages of each of those matches to secure the wins.

Queens struck first on Saturday and you appeared to have no real answer to that. You faced a test and failed miserably.

It certainly seems as if you're beginning to believe the crap your manager's been coming out with.

No, I'm just saying it would be a unfair comparison as we have played at a reasonable (if slightly weak at some points) standard through the season so far and had an absolute nightmare on Saturday. I'm not taking the result away from them because even with a good performance from us, they probably would have won.

I've already said they played well but this really was a case of us causing our own downfall. Goal #1 was Davidson's hesistation about punting the ball away that let Dobbie steal the ball and score. Goal #2 was static defending off of an offside attempt but to be fair, I'm not sure whether if it was onside at all. Nevertheless you can still run with your hand in the air. Goal #3 came just before half-time where I think it was fair to say that we were in the ascendency. Floated free-kick into the box where Martini stupidly chooses to punch the ball over a catch and smother to give us some optomism going into half time. Weatherston volleys in the rebound. Goal #4 I thought Martini should have come out for but it was hard to tell from where I was. Goal #5 was a screamer quite simply. You could always say that a goalie should be getting a hand to unblocked shots from 25 yards out but this was just a hit of purity. I missed Goal #6 in attempt to get back up to Edinburgh quicker.

Once again, I'm not taking the result away from Queens because I thought they did play well. It's just my opinion that Airdrie and Clyde had the best showing against a side who played decently.

How many saves did Cameron Bell have to make in the entire match? I can't remember any. He picked the ball out of the back of the net after Mackay's screamer and then had virtually nothing to do. For all their pretty patterns during the first half, Livingston did not create any chances of note. Lest we forget, Queens spurned a few chances along the way and could quite easily have scored another 2 or 3 goals. I'm not greedy, though and have settled for 6-1.

Apart from the goal, our only real clearcut chance was when Chris Innes had a header saved on the line (well maybe a yard or two off it) in the first half when we were 2-1 down. Quinn probably should have taken a shot on the edge of the box three times during the game as well but that is seriously the only attacking things of note that I remember from Saturday.

Best would be County. I know some Clyde fans would disagree but they've been the only side to properly thump us, albeit we ended up nicking a point. We genuinely couldn't get near them in the first half of that game.

Worst over 90 minutes would be St Johnstone. Over 45, the complete and utter dross served up by ourselves/QotS in the first half last week was the worst I've ever seen.
