What a load of absolute pish. A team can only be classed as 'the best' if Livi play well?
Landi has admitted he made a mistake in starting Davidson at the back, but you were only two down when your manager made a switch. Did you ever stop to think that it might just be Queens themselves that made you look ordinary (being generous here).
No, I'm just saying it would be a unfair comparison as we have played at a reasonable (if slightly weak at some points) standard through the season so far and had an absolute nightmare on Saturday. I'm not taking the result away from them because even with a good performance from us, they probably would have won.
I've already said they played well but this really was a case of us causing our own downfall. Goal #1 was Davidson's hesistation about punting the ball away that let Dobbie steal the ball and score. Goal #2 was static defending off of an offside attempt but to be fair, I'm not sure whether if it was onside at all. Nevertheless you can still run with your hand in the air. Goal #3 came just before half-time where I think it was fair to say that we were in the ascendency. Floated free-kick into the box where Martini stupidly chooses to punch the ball over a catch and smother to give us some optomism going into half time. Weatherston volleys in the rebound. Goal #4 I thought Martini should have come out for but it was hard to tell from where I was. Goal #5 was a screamer quite simply. You could always say that a goalie should be getting a hand to unblocked shots from 25 yards out but this was just a hit of purity. I missed Goal #6 in attempt to get back up to Edinburgh quicker.
Once again, I'm not taking the result away from Queens because I thought they did play well. It's just my opinion that Airdrie and Clyde had the best showing against a side who played decently.
